No one ever answers the phone for med refills. If you leave a voicemail, the front desk calls you back 4ish days later. I've had to call the emergency line to get meds filled when I ran out. Dr.'s are amazing! Front desk personnel impede access to medical care and are border-line unethical. When I ran out of a script and the front desk finally called me back, she questioned why I was on the medication and whether or not I felt I actually needed it. I've been on this medication for 14 years. I asked her for her credentials in order to determine if what she was asking was appropriate for her level of medical knowledge and she had O. Get it together Elam! I've been coming to you for YEARS. Your front desk assistants are giving you a bad reputation and are incredibly rude. Patient satisfaction is their least concern.

I went here as a child and it was TERRIBLE. For anyone who knows about A side and how the rooms are set the room in the far back was for new comers I know and am friends with a fellow girl who was sent there and wasn’t fed for a whole week. The staff completely forgot she was in there. They had this rule no one was allowed in others rules and they had a 16 and 14 year old together and the 16 year old was in the bathroom and broke the shampoo bottle and tried to end her life the 14 year old was terrified. It’s crazy how the state will allow a child to be out there I know girls that ran and ended up getting taken. The security guard if still the same dude should be fired. He would throw us all on the floor for doing the most simple things but let girls beat a girl to the pint she was hospitalized. They place us a very bad place I ended up running away. There schooling sucks you are not allowed to use restrooms if someone acts up you get locked in the room until things are done and would shorten lunch. We only had 2 class room one we watched movies the other we sat by our self’s on a computer

My sons home counselor was amazing Ms Ty and she really helped get his anger under control and helped the family with some issues we were all dealing with as well. I saw her yesterday at Walmart which made me think about this office again to get my youngest son in counseling with her. The only I don’t like about this office is the medication services. They rescheduled my kid’s medication intake appointment twice . The first time they called me the day before and told me it had to be rescheduled due to miscommunication with the scheduling on their end and they gave my kids appointments away to someone else. The second time I pulled my kids out of school that morning to take them to the office for the appointment and when we got there they said that they had to cancel the appointment because the nurse practitioner was sick and couldn’t see any clients.

The absolute worst place you can ever go to. If someone needs mental help the nurses/doctors should not be harassing them/asking them what drugs they are taking every time they come into the room (even after drug tests were clean). Also laughing at patients calling them crazy in front of the ENTIRE waiting room is absurd. The WORST, most unprofessional place ever. They deserve to be sued/shut down for treating patients the way they do/covering it all up. If your loved one is suffering and needs help PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM HERE!!!! THEY DO NOT CARE AND WILL NOT HELP THEM!!!

I have called 3 days in a row, before that I called a month or so ago, before that I called a month prior....if your lucky enough to get someone to answer the phone they will transfer you to a voicemail but don't bother leaving a message because the chances of getting a call back are slim to none. It's really no wonder why people suffer in silence, who is really there to help if the people certified dismiss the ones they claim to be there to help.

Good food best. Help nurse and aides another story. Night shift nurses very nice of course they have less of things to take care of I guess and day shift nurses most nice others so prejudice I couldn't believe. Any place owned by tennova health if this place was I thought that's what I told stay away from. Worst care next to parkridge west in jasper tennessee close runners up for zero stars. I laid in the bed one or two days because I was having issues never had a nurse come by to help. Anyway stay away unless because no call buttons you can reach unless you walk to it and if you not able to walk how do you call for help acrpy you yell for home many times. I'll go broke and go private pay place b4 I go corporate place if you have a choice.

I am writing this review as a former employee of HCA, where I worked for nearly three years. Initially, I found the work environment enjoyable and was willing to put in extra hours beyond the permitted 39 hours per week, sometimes reaching 80-90 hours. However, I did not receive the recognition or compensation I felt I deserved for my efforts.

I have been there twice involuntarily. The old building looked like a haunted castle. It was a really scary sight to see especially when you are out of your mind. I heard people screaming and had to ignore it so I didn't get in trouble but I know they were doing something really bad to her. It was kinda uncomfortable furniture and really bad food and you have to eat it or they report it. No trading food or you get in trouble. It's a little like jail but you can earn privileges later. The new building I went to the second time looks nicer on the inside and the furniture is more comfortable but the inside is like a prison. You can't see out of the windows. The food is a lot better but the staff is way more mean and they stole some of my stuff. I didn't really get any real help at either place. No therapy or counseling, just medication and no discussion about it whatsoever.

I don't even know if this place is real before my appointment I called to ask if they can give me a letter to make my bird my emotional support bird and they tell me yes. Fast-forward I get there and they tell me no they can't do it I'm just not understanding why not when clearly a therapist or a psychologist can do it which I seen both. That gave me so much anxiety because I believed them when they said they will give me the letter and I get there and the wouldn't I could have made an appointment somewhere else that would provide me what I needed but they definitely billed my insurance though

As a RN, I would not recommend this facility to my dog. A family member of mine, a teen, was admitted there & kept for 9 days. This child was voluntarily admitted there, & I was immediately concerned due to the inconsistent info provided, the lack of proactive communication, & the complete absence of clinical collaboration with established outpatient therapist & psychiatrist. I understand the responsibility healthcare providers have toward patients, esp. toward minors, a vulnerable patient population. When I attempted to schedule regular visitation, we were informed that Crestwyn "doesn't offer visitation;" our only option to see our child would occur at her 'therapist's' 'first availability' for a 'family therapy session' SIX DAYS after admission. During a phone call, our child stated that one physician noted that discharge would be very soon. Our child stated that then, (completely unbeknownst to us) her medical care was switched to a different physician who informed our child that discharge would not occur before next week. Our child also stated that they overheard members of the staff state: "They are the guinea pigs because we’ve never done this with minors and everything’s changed." Regarding the 'therapy' received there, our child stated that "no one is helping me or telling me anything," and that the ‘therapist’, is "judgey & not trying to help." Our child also recalled that they couldn’t really do anything in the gym 1 day bc of a fight that occurred earlier, & "there was blood everywhere." When recalling another incident, our child recalled another patient who made our child feel uncomfortable by "talking about being w/ different girls. He said he hates being rejected by girls, & it makes him want to bash their heads in." This other patient kept staring at our child. Our child reported this incident to a Crestwyn staff member but nothing was done. I believe our child was traumatized by the experience at Crestwyn. We voiced our concerns while our child was inpatient, even writing an email to staff leadership, regarding patient safety, lack of clear and consistent communication, lack of collaboration in her care plan, and lack of any info regarding discharge planning w/ the 'therapist' and the patient 'advocate.' We requested multiple times to speak to our child's physician to discuss the care plan, only to receive a call EIGHT DAYS after admission only to be provided w/ nonspecific, unhelpful, generic answers to our questions regarding our child's treatment plan. This is extremely disappointing, as I am well-informed on the positive impact that proactive discharge planning, transparency in care, & collaboration in healthcare decision making has on patient outcomes. We no longer felt safe with our child being admitted at Crestwyn any longer, so on DAY NINE (with no information on anticipated discharge date), we went to the facility and demanded our child's discharge. While inpatient, our child expressed concern over not being included in their care and not being informed on what is going on with their care; we also have felt like we have been excluded in our child's care from day one. We attempted to communicate these concerns using Crestwyn's preferred line of communication (which is also unclear - we were directed and redirected multiple times between the patient advocate, therapist, and nurse's station) but received no reliable answers, as they changed daily. Furthermore, we have concerns regarding our child's therapist's credentials (per the TN Department of Health licensure verification database and abuse registry).

Horrible! I have been trying to schedule a first-time appointment and they are avoiding me. At first I thought it was a connection error, so I called back. They said hello, heard my name, and sent me to the "THIS PERSON IS NOT AVAILABLE" voice mail. I do not know WHAT I did wrong besides tell them what insurance I use.

My therapist was ok. Not great. Dr green also. The other staff though, yikes. Awful. I had to fight to even leave a message for my psych. I had the messages intercepted by my therapist to tell me I needed to learn to deal with things on my own. The problem ended up be one of my meds was too high. Once they lowered the dosage I was fine. I felt bullied to try and return to the therapist. But after this stunt it wasn’t happening. I need help. Not just flung out on my own when I had just gotten out of the hospital. I wouldn’t return there.

i rate it a 2/5 because of this one therapist i had who saved my life, but after she left it really went down-hill so fast. the next therapist after her was so unprofessional (answered a phone call in middle of session and threatened to call the police on the caller, often shortened appointments and went home early just because of a headache she had, etc), and now there’s only one therapist left in the whole building. i have been waiting in the waitlist for MONTHS and there still isn’t any sign of getting a new therapist. incredibly short staffed and everyone is leaving for some reason. i have to leave now because i just can’t trust anyone anymore. it’s not right

I was sent there due to a breakdown missing my mother, when I arrived my bathroom area was absolutely disgusting, there were urine stains in the bathroom and the toilet still had feces stains and hair in the toilet the smell was awful and very unsanitary. The staff was as good as can be expected with the lack of. They were so overwhelmed they could barely keep up. The drs were absolutely terrible. How can a physician prescribe any medication without actually speaking with the patient about their issues. Why would you give someone a narcotics when they have addiction issues. I’m am absolutely appalled at this facility. No further comments.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE!! I had a loved one who was recommended to come here and they told him he could leave if he wanted with no push back. He called me that same night and asked me to come get him. They told us they would send the Crisis team in and they would call us back. THEY NEVER DID!! We called them an hour later and they said that there is an ambulance to take him to the hospital. They wouldn’t tell us where they sent him or what provoked the call to send him to the hospital. My loved one called ME from the hospital and told us he was there and that he didn’t know why he was sent there and he was scared. The hospital had to keep him overnight and eventually released him after the psych team evaluated. This place sent his clothes with him and said they didn’t want him back. Well great, he ISNT coming back! This place is HORRIBLE!!!! Please do not send your loved ones here. He was not cared for. He said they didn’t feed him and he was starving. I hope this place closes! It’s a shame that some people FINALLY reach out for help and places like this torment them and make it harder. Shame on these people!

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Tennessee?
When comparing providers in Tennessee, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Tennessee?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Tennessee?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Tennessee providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Tennessee providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
