Facility laughs at patients, doesn’t give them a bed, won’t give them comfort meds, cuts off the phone when a client has a question. They don’t care about you. Do not recommend. Better off going to a zoo.

First, I have to say that the therapist that I see, Chelsea, is absolutely amazing and she has been so helpful. I feel like my mental health has gotten better since seeing her. Also, the woman at the front desk, Amanda, Is super sweet and helpful as well. My current issue is with the billing department.. Billing really messed up with my account. Four months billing claims were not going through to my insurance, And it took them four months to let me know that this issue was happening. So you could imagine the bill that was racked up.. There was a slight issue with my insurance that got solved and was all set but billing didn’t have the correct ID for my insurance after giving it to them several times. Today, I was told that I was all set for a telehealth appointment and I waited on there for 15 minutes.. When I realized that my therapist probably isn’t coming on the appointment, I went on the app and saw that my appointment was canceled.. I was not called or notified in anyway that this appointment was canceled. And I genuinely think that billing canceled my appointment again after telling them that it was all set. My insurance company even called the billing department to tell them that it was all set and was going to be backdated. I am extremely upset and dissatisfied with the billing department at Arrow. If they had let me know what was going on back when they were having issues four months ago, I wouldn’t be having this problem right now.

The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because I love my doctor, Dr. Denny, and every experience I’ve had with her has been absolutely lovely. As for the management, I have had to call multitudinous times to put my prescriptions through. The website has never worked to get my prescriptions, and the last experience I had really put the nail in the coffin for me. I had to call 4 times over 3 weeks to get my prescription, and I still don’t have it. I’ve never gotten a call that the prescription was on hold or couldn’t be processed, I always got the same answer: They didn’t even see the request in their system and that they would put it through. The third time I called, I was told that the last person typed up the request and “forgot to hit send.” The lack of professionalism is ridiculous, laughable. I’ve also had my prescriptions sent to the wrong location, and drove 45 minutes to retrieve it because no matter how many times I called they couldn’t (wouldn’t) transfer it to the correct pharmacy. I love my doctor, and I would hate to find another doctor when I trust and feel so safe with Dr. Denny, but this ongoing issue with the management is making me consider other options.

Terrible organization, specifically Tayla (Taila/Thalia) Director of the in home services for children, Dr. Terkell supervisor to Tayla, and Elisha the in home therapist and Dr. Seviski the Psychiatrist. I waited months to get my son help through Gateway. Surprisingly this healthcare institution whose sole focus is mental health are severely mismanaging our most vulnerable population (youth struggling with mental health to issues). While waiting for our onboarding with Gateway I was able to get my son into counseling through another agency. Over the next couple months we had an intake appt at our home where the clinician advised my son qualified for services. We booked an appt with Dr. Seviski for 2/10 at 2PM (this was in November). We were then contacted by the in home therapist Elisha I explained to her that my son was receiving therapy through another agency and explained 2 different therapists/sessions would be overwhelming for my son, she agreed. Fast forward 4 months approximately 240 days they allowed my son to suffer all for us to show up to the appt and they advise it was cancelled by Tayla. Tayla will not speak to me but the message has been relayed that Tayla canceled my sons med management appt because he was not receiving therapy from their therapist. This is a direct violation of the Patients Bill of Rights. As a patient my son has the right to see a therapist he is comfortable without being punished or receiving consequences. Tayla, Seviski, Elisha and Terkell relinquished med management services from my son. Not because he is not partaking in therapy but because he is not seeing the therapist they selected. This is a huge oversight, upon making efforts to allow them to rectify this issue they are now suggesting we go to Lifespan for med management. After wasting months of my families time, supplying false hope that we would finally get the help we have been seeking for years. My son and I are at square one. I’d also like to add that the directors and supervisors use their front end staff to do their dealing. Instead of them having the professionalism or courtesy to explain themselves they use their staff as shields to the inevitable backlash caused by their poor decision making. With all that being said thank you to Daisy and Jake with Gateway for acting as a sounding board for me during a time of frustration and desperation and to Adriana with Kids Link. I will be speaking with a lawyer about the patient bill of rights as my sons rights were directly violated in addition if anything happens to my son while medical professionals send me on another goose chase, litigation will ensure.

If I could give this place no stars, I think I would. We were sent here from a higher level of care for a minor child. We were told we could get school based therapy so it would be possible to get meds through them without issues. Then we were told school based therapy didn’t exist and they don’t know why it was offered. Told us they were getting us on a list for a med provider that didn’t require therapy. They never did that and said they never promised that, then couldn’t tell me what I signed with the director for that to be done. But I drove in to meet and sign it and listen to him explain why we couldn’t stay. Thought we were on a list to be transferred to a different practice the entire time we were there (well over a year). Our provider was eh at first, had a hard time keeping all the information straight. After a few months it got better and he just kept giving us follow-ups without issue. Que the merging of buildings & they let go our provider go, found out 2 weeks before. The provider told us we would be transferring to the new provider in charge of minors. They immediately let us go, by phone, still not signed on with anyone new days after our last close out appointment with our provider who was leaving.

Some of the counselors are ok, but the majority of the place is all about getting grants and all about the $, it is what it is. They don’t even follow their own rules. and constantly change their rules to accommodate themselves, so a Recommendation would be, don’t mess with opiates. If you get hurt, deal with it. Dealing with places like this is by far one of the worst experiences you will ever have. Pain eventually goes away, the stress and the bad taste left with you from dealing with places like this last a lot longer.

Went here recently. Was turned away initially by security guard. Finally got in my biggest fear turned into reality. I was not given my meds I needed even though mentioning it 10 times during intake. No therapist or anyone to talk to while in so I just checked out. I literally was suicidal and chose to do it myself. Noone can visit. They dont update your family with changes even if then are your proxy. They filled me with meds I had reactions to and didnt listen which resulted in me going to the ER because I couldn't talk. Do not bring your loved ones here. Also security officers are on a power trip. Bunch of bullies who use power instead of empathy to deal with the patients. Honestly next time ill take the risk of killing myself then eve going there again. Do not bring anyone you love here go to Massachusetts or CT.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Rhode Island?
When comparing providers in Rhode Island, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Rhode Island?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Rhode Island?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Rhode Island providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Rhode Island providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
