Brown University Health's Adult Psychiatric Services, in partnership with Rhode Island Hospital, provides comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) for adults experiencing acute mental health crises. These services include emergency psychiatric evaluations and crisis intervention for individuals facing conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, panic disorders, schizophrenia, substance use disorders, suicidal ideation, and other serious psychiatric illnesses.
The program is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of experts, including psychiatrists, psychiatric clinical nurse specialists, psychiatry residents, and social workers, all dedicated to delivering compassionate, timely, and effective care during psychiatric emergencies.
