I loves seeing Dr. O'Connor, he really understands me completely and I really feel heard and respected. I strongly feel he really cares not only health, but for the total well-being as a whole. I really appreciate him. Highly recommenced! Just trust the process!

I found my therapist through a search so I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about being assigned one. My therapist is Queer himself and despite being cisgender, he is excellent in helping me deal with gender dysphoria and family troubles that have happened since I came out.

I’ve been diagnosed for almost 15 years now. Initially in the beginning I was excited to be apart of the program as a client, unfortunately that all went downhill and I have a complete change of heart about TSI now. Throughout my experience continuous false allegations about me as a tenant were reported to the Housing Specialist assigned. Having rights as a tenant I was not aware of any violations against me, until I actually had to request paperwork due to miscommunication with the transitional employees. Without me being able to explain and defend myself I was unaware about decisions made by the organization. My mental stability is being determined by what I can do for myself physically, I’m still ill in need of assistance. I believe entitlement is purposely being sabotaged to terminate my services leaving me homeless. Feeling uncomfortable about the unprofessional behavior, I started to feel like I was meeting with my girlfriend for lunch instead of meeting with a Housing Specialist.

I struggled all my life with demons until I started going to AA meetings and going to therapy here.q my therapist is no longer there. but she was amazing I can't remember her name but I remember her face she was so kind and understanding never tried to shove meds down my throat.and very kind and thoughtful. I didn't realize how much baggage I was carrying until I started recovery this place had a hand in me being sober and I will have 12 years in December I also have overcame a lot that I never thought I could in my life thank you so much my dearest counselor she was amazing. This place has made me realize that I deserve better and I am good enough to have it.

Women's Wellness & Breast Health Center is tastefully decorated to be a calming experience while waiting for your mammogram. The staff was very wonderful. I would have gave a better review, but the scheduling department has issues. I was there for 2.5 hours, because I wasn't scheduled for the correct procedures. They stayed late & worked me in, which I am very grateful for.

If I could give Northwell a 0 I would. I called at 1pm. I waited over 40 minutes for a call back then 42 minutes trying to make a appt and was eventually transferred to a voicemail. It’s is HORRENDOUS customer service. Go someplace else. Period.

I came here because I needed urgent care and couldn’t wait to see my PCP - but I sure wish I had just waited. The exam rooms are dirty, staff wear ripped jeans instead of scrubs, and the receptionist is a weird robot that yells your personal details out loud enough for the whole waiting room to hear. Also, in the exam room, the computer is up and unlocked with all patient info accessible… a major data risk. I can see the names of everyone else who’s here, why they are here, and what status their appointment is in. I was alone in the room for 30 min and if I were a bad actor, could easily have stolen patient info. See for yourself in the photo (I did redact patient names for their safety) TLDR: don’t come here. It’s the worst urgent care I’ve ever been to. The current rating must either be padded with fake reviews or from people who’ve never experienced proper medical care.

I don’t think anyone here is exactly top tier, I’ve only seen one psychiatrist and one therapist multiple times. They do their job and it’s a really really nice place, it doesn’t feel cold and empty, it feels cozy and my therapist, although not too helpful, is very kind and willing to hear everything I have to say. The psychiatrist I have is Dr. Kodali. She’s the typical “tell me how you feel—here’s medicine that could help” type. She’s not very insightful or anything but that’s okay. The fact that this is in a public hospital, that’s why this deserves 5 stars. It’s the kind of service I’d expect at a upper mid-tier private clinic.

My daughter has been going to Endeavor for 8 months. The first councilor was not a good fit she didn’t seem to know what she was doing. The second one that we were assigned to has cancelled the last 4 appointments and doesn’t even let me know until we got to the office. Her psychologist Mary Colson is great. If you’re looking for a councilor don’t use this practice. However I will continue to see Mary Colson

When I was inpatient for 2 weeks in October 2025, I thought the place was incredibly helpful- until the end of my stay. The psychiatrist diagnosed me as bipolar right at my admission. This inaccurate diagnosis (confirmed by multiple therapists and psychiatrists) did extreme harm to me. I was off my meds when I went, and instead of getting me back on my old doses that worked for me, they increased the meds until I was over-medicated (due to the “bipolar”) and then intended to discharge me with no aftercare. I had to advocate for myself to be discharged into a virtual IOP. This was the most they would refer me to. With a medication they increased two days before my discharge, I had an adverse reaction. I became debilitatingly depressed and obsessively suicidal. I was in a state worse than my admission. My IOP, unaffiliated with Four Winds, was refusing to get me in with a psychiatrist and was not properly supporting me. So, I reached out to Four Winds PHP for extra support. I explained my situation, and that I was not going to act on any impulses but needed the higher level of care. They not only denied me, they also had my inpatient therapist directly call me to berate me (Shelby). Then, they called my inpatient emergency contact to say I was “in immediate crisis”. My parents, who already knew everything that was going on, were incredibly panicked thinking something that was NOT happening was happening. And as I was no longer their patient, I wonder if this violated HIPAA. Mind you, I’m an adult. Because my unaffiliated IOP was failing me (Charlie Health), I had to stop taking my meds again for my own safety. This was about 3 weeks post discharge. But as this created its own set of issues, I ended up calling Four Winds back and asking to do an intake to go back into inpatient. They told me “We are not the right fit for you, find a different hospital.” So after overmedicating me, not discharging me into adequate support, berating me, and violating my confidentially, they denied me the care I desperately needed. It was extremely disheartening. I’m sad to say this awful place is probably one of the best facilities in the area. I only recovered because I traveled to Maryland for mental health care. It’s truly a shame.

Absolutely horrible and I haven't been there yet. I spoke with a psychiatrist about 2 months ago who okayed my meds.... Valium is the one that stops places that mentally ill patients like myself can't get help from but anyways .. this psychiatrist told me with my psychiatrists letters and to do a 28-day program I would have a bed in the ronkonkoma location. Well that psychiatrist was fired so I did 28 days for nothing because I was turned down. They should be ashamed of themselves!!! Im Mentally ill, take other meds besides the Valium. I've been on them for 19 years. It's just this combination of meds that keep me sane and because of it, I can't get the help I need!

I made an intake appointment and was ready for it. But they said they hadn’t received the paperwork. So, I re-did the paperwork and submitted it properly. Rescheduled the appointment for the following week. This is where it gets bad. 15 minutes before my appointment I receive and email. Not even a phone-call… an email. Saying something unexpected came up and my intake would not happen…. No explanation. 5 days later I received a call to reschedule the intake with a different clinician… And they never mentioned there’s a $75 intake fee for the evaluation. It’s not a big deal. Professionals should be paid. But they ask you to “prepay”. Now that I’ve read the reviews, I understand why. Any medical services that ask you to pre-pay is a scam. Don’t go. Real professionals will provide the services and expect payment once the service is complete. I had to ask about the fee around 5 times before getting a straight answer. I will stay away from this place… It’s si disappointing… I used to attend regularly back in the nineties….it was different. They definitely need a new director or a new manager because the services are horrible. So unprofessional.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in New York?
When comparing providers in New York, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in New York?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in New York?
Yes. Mental Health US includes New York providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all New York providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
