North shore child & family guidance center is supporting child alienation. They refuse to give information to a father about his children and ignoring

I went through the long and emotionally draining intake and evaluation process because my son genuinely needs help. After completing everything they asked for, I have been unable to get an appointment or even a return phone call. I’ve left messages and followed up, and no one calls back. I am currently waiting for the director to call back, but not holding my breath. When families finally reach out for mental health support—especially for children—being ignored is unacceptable. The lack of communication and follow-through has been incredibly frustrating and discouraging. At this point, I’m disgusted by how difficult it has been to get basic help after jumping through all the required hoops. Families deserve better responsiveness and care than this. Update: I was contacted by the director in Mayville, who personally reached out and scheduled an appointment for my son. I truly appreciate her time and kindness. To give context: I originally called in November 2024 trying to get an intake appointment and eventually gave up after months without success. I called again in summer 2025, did experience phone tag once, but again never got through so I once again stopped trying. I finally reached a live person in December, after over a year of attempting to access services. I honestly assumed no one would ever call me back after the evaluation was complete. While I’m grateful the director intervened and helped, the overall intake and communication process was extremely difficult and discouraging for a parent seeking care for their child. I also want to note that children like my son are different in that traditional counseling is not appropriate for him—he would not understand or benefit from it. Because of this, the process is more complex than simply assigning a counselor and later referring to a psychiatrist. Delays and communication breakdowns make accessing appropriate care especially difficult for families in situations like ours. I hope changes can be made to improve access and communication. I have spoken with many other special needs parents who don’t even attempt to seek help anymore because the process is so discouraging. This review has nothing to do with any providers themselves—I am sure they are all wonderful people. The difficulty lies in reaching the office and navigating the intake process, not in the care professionals once contact is made.

Firstly- I was lied to by whom ever I called l. She said the entire thing would take “30 min” and it took an hour and a half and after all that I was told I still needed to wait however long for a counselor that was in a session to do a screen on me and if I left all the paperwork I already did would be invalid. The entire reason I called about length of process is because I had a dentist appt at 10am I have been waiting 3 months for because of painful dentist issues and had to miss it so now I have another appt another FOUR MONTHS out because of their unprofessionalism. Secondly the receptionist in Fulton was very rude and impersonal from the second I I came in the door. Like yeah everyone who comes through here is addicted but i believe that we deserve decent kindness or SOMETHING instead of rude reactivity from the start. I usually never have an issue with anyone anywhere but she was so short and dismissive with me and another man who came in while I was there. Thirdly however both the man who did my screen as well as the woman on the phone who did my assessment were very kind and explained the process much better than the lady at the front desk. She could hardly explain the forms I was supposed to sign and what they were for. Idk just it felt like bias towards addicts or something like she got the job at indeed and didn’t understand it.

This place is terrible. It used to be great. In the last few months they changed their front office staff. These new people are awful. They are extremely rude and nasty. They will talk over you loudly, suck their teeth and even curse under their breath over you. If you value your mental health don't go here.

No place is all good or all bad. That being said, you can put good people in a bad organization and it will still not be great. That is the case with OCMH. Good people. Decent organization to your face, but it's chaos. In all honesty, I've had several appointments in 2025 alone where my therapist has said "they've put somebody else in my schedule, so I have to end early today." You're expected to go in person to all psychiatry appointments to see a doctor on a screen. Because of this, controlled medications like ADHD meds can't legally be prescribed. I was not told my primary insurance was not accepted until 2 years after I got the insurance. But the people themselves are good, so medium review.

After receiving and confirming 2 different confirmation texts—including one an hour before my appointment—I was told I was too late for my appointment to see the doctor. I was LITERALLY 3 minutes late, and would have been on time if the system sent me to the right address. The receptionist, who was lovely, took more minutes to look up my info than the amount of minutes I was “late.” I don’t understand. I am absolutely devastated, as getting this appointment was extremely difficult for me—not to mention expensive, as I took a $25 car to get here. (I wouldn’t be here if I could afford another doctor.) Not to mention that another email I received told me not to arrive more than 15 minutes early. I’ve never experienced anything like this. I feel absolutely awful, confused, and frustrated beyond belief. What a shame. NOTE: THE ADDRESS IN THIS CONFIRMATION TEXT WAS THE WRONG ADDRESS FYI for new patients: The *correct* address is 120 Lawrence—not 57 Willoughby. If you made your appointment through ZocDoc, it might have given you the wrong address. ETA: The receptionist was very kind and understanding, and she brought her supervisor Iris to speak with me. Iris was also super lovely, as well as the rest of the medical staff. I am keeping my review as-is for documentation purposes, but despite my frustrating experience as a first-time patient, the medical and reception staff (outside of the doctor who refused to see me) were very kind.

Catholic Guardians is truly a gem! I bring my child to get therapy and from front desk to the social workers that help my daughter I have no complaints! I would highly recommend this service for your children! They are the best in New York City!! 🩷🩷

theres many better options in new york. I highly recommend Never Alone instead of outreach. | if you were here between jan 2026 - march, add me on snap: jayden.gttb

Overall the experience here has been good. Most recently went in for an MRI and the radiology staff was great. Very nice, attentive, and knowledgeable. They made me feel ok for what I thought was a scary procedure. I will say the check-in process here should be rethought. The "Central Registration" for patients checking into the hospital is in an awkward location. When I arrived there were 10+ people ahead of me with the line almost snaking out the door. It's a bad idea overall; most places you go to the area where your appointment is and check in with the receptionist there. Just feels weird and unnecessary for everyone to wait in a huge line like that. I've also been to the ER here for someone else. The wait time is typical for an ER, at least in this area. The one in Geneva is no better. You're going to be waiting a long time it's to be expected most places now unfortunately.

The nurses and doctors at ST Mary’s are truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with compassion, patience, and genuine care. Every nurse took the time to explain what was happening, checked on me often, and made sure I felt safe and supported—never rushed, never dismissed. The doctors were knowledgeable, calm, and reassuring, answering questions thoroughly and treating me like a whole person, not just a chart. During what can be an overwhelming and emotional experience, the entire team made a difficult day feel manageable and humane.ST Mary’s Hospital is full of professionals who clearly care deeply about their patients. I’m incredibly grateful for the skill, kindness, and humanity shown to me, and I would trust this team again without hesitation.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed. The amenities were limited with just a giant Epson projector, a pool table, and some couches. Aside from attending groups and meeting with my coach, there wasn't much to do. I found myself connecting more with the staff than with the other clients.
What’s wrong with scheduling? Huh? Why can’t I just use MyCharts if the therapist doesn’t wanna talk through phone, or it’s not easy to reach to front desk. Why my visits suddenly canceled without letting me know…. Thats very STRANGEE
This school will look for any reason to send your child home because they don't want to deal with them. My son has only been in this school since September 2024, and I've been contacted numerous amounts of times to pick him up for too many bowel movements to the point I had to get a letter from his doctor so they can stop calling me to pick him up and keep him home for 24hrs after that..no fever, no other symptoms... now they got the letter for his bowels and want to start calling to pick him up for vomiting... how convenient. My son has an IEP and should be provided a certain amount of hours of service and he has not been getting that. It's educational neglect on the school's part. Not to mention teachers and staff were never on time in the morning to pick the children up, until I called and filed a complaint with DOE. Do yourself a favor and don't put your child in this school. They don't help families they hurt them. I've been fighting to keep my job ever since plaving my son here. It's so sad.
Positive experience for my son and I. They are very much appreciate.
We normally go to the Harlem location but at the height of covid our office was turned into a covid testing site so we were sent here. They had safety precautions in place and the staff was cordial. Our visit was pretty quick. We were triaged and placed in an isolation room as a precaution since my son had previously ran a fever but the staff was nice and the doctor was thorough. I wouldn’t mind going back if it wasn’t so far from my neighborhood, especially since our PCP has relocated. But I appreciated their attentiveness to my son.

I got a top notch therapist and dr they are amazing and always there for me one has even called on there lunch break.. Ik that they play a part in my success. the waiting room is nice, usually a good movie on, and they have free clothes for everyone I'm surprised such low score
