The fact that they're allowed to operate as a medical facility is nothing short of criminal after what they put me through. Being subject to someone who couldn't even correctly define basic English terminology was nothing short of insulting, too! 👿

If I could give this place negative stars I would. The PCIT scheduler was completely rude. Lied to me, & just 100% unprofessional. I will make sure to let the Spokane community know my experience. She refused to set an appointment with me for me and my 3 children. Ages 0,4, & 7 for PCIT. All because my 7 year old has tricare select and then she tried to proceed to tell me she could no longer set an appointment. I do not appreciate the unprofessional attitude and lying. Especially since I was only trying to get services for my daughter. Also when I asked to speak with the manager when I called her out for lying. She put me on hold and after coming back told me the manager was unavailable. Someone who works in medical care knows what that means. So please look elsewhere for care.

This place will give you the runaround every time. I got court ordered to complete an assessment through their office and I did what I was requested by the courts. Here we are a month later and they still don’t have any information to give me and my assessment is still incomplete. I have one month until everything is due and I have requested them to do this urgently as I have a family vacation planned and now I cannot get a single call back to tell me where we are in the process. I stopped by the office where the receptionist Jordan told me that there was nothing they could do without charging me $15 for a rushed letter to get my things completed. By paying for this letter, it only States the fact that my assessment has been completed. It does not disclose any recommendations that I myself was told by counselor John and have completed. I don’t understand how I can attend classes and give them one month from the date of my assessment but still have no information, so here I sit pondering to myself do these people really help others like they state they do? Cause I don’t see anybody doing their job let alone helping others.

This place is an absolute travesty to be open and pretend they are assisting people in drug treatment. They tell outpatient clients that the program is 8 to 12 weeks but the curriculum makes it impossible to complete the program in that time frame. They delay allowing you to do the work and present it as required drawing out the time that you are in the program beyond what it outlined and told to the clients. The treatment groups are nothing more than doing crossword puzzles and word searches that the counselor just printed off the internet. When you attempt to talk to them about your concerns that won't engage in a discussion as they know what they are doing and have no way to justify it. All they want to do is keep you there and take your money with a so called program that doesn't do anything for you other than teach you how to do a word search. This is a massive disservice to the public and people seeking help. I don't even want to give them one star but Google requires it. They truly deserve none.

Where to begin with this review! The people at this location and the Aberdeen locations are very rude and disrespectful and have no regard for people's mental health or their health worries. I had stated for months that I needed to be put back on my antidepressant and they completely disregarded it. Not to mention they were blaming me for their incompetence of reminding me of the appointments that I needed to have via text message which is what I asked for, they've blamed me for being a no show on zoom when I clearly was there and zoom was messing up and I called to explain that to them, and they completely blamed me for not complying when I have been. They also have not been giving updates to DSHS in regards to my ABD so that I may keep my benefits to try to get on social security. When speaking on the phone today with the main head of this branch, they lied to me they targeted me and treated me as if I was no lower than dirt. I have switched to a better company that I feel will fulfill my needs, and I will not be recommending this place or the Aberdeen branch to anyone because of the malpractice being shown and the incompetence of people who are being immature and not understanding a person's mental health and thinking they know what's best for them when they clearly don't. I made mention that I had had a suicidal episode and they completely disregarded that and said oh you're fine we're not going to put you back on your meds because it may affect your bipolar in a negative way when I was with them in the past and I was taking it and was just fine these people have no right working in mental health in my opinion if they're going to disregard a person's concerns for their well-being I'm also tired of them lying to me and pretending like they care when they really don't in all honesty if I could rate this review is zero I would give it my advice to anyone adult child or whoever needs mental health help go elsewhere as this place is a joke and a laughing stock

Worst experience ever. Absolutely disgusting. Treated me like I was stupid, assigned me a Chinese lady for a therapist who barely spoke fluent English. How do you expect people to want to willingly get help for themselves if you assign a councilor that I can’t even understand? Lobby has a strong smell of marjuanna. Lady at the front desk seems so

Patients need to know that a Doctor at this facility has a history of facilitating abuse. His name is Neal Palmreuter and this is my experience under his care. I was in the office of Neal Palmreuter after coming out of psychosis and I told him "I remember you". I could sense a discomfort, because he was under the assumption that I was not aware of the abuse I had endured. Part of my delusions led me to believe he was killing people. Every time I was tackled and injected by staff under his direction, I experienced it as dying. I thought my life was being taken violently and a new life would begin, only to experience that violence once more. My mind was trying to integrate the experience. I counted 5 times. 5 times where I was subjected to violence, that I live with still to this day. And I remember calling out that they needed to call the authorities for help while I was being repeatedly forcibly injected, despite being non violent. I remember grabbing his badge to read his name, because I knew I needed to know who was responsible for the harm I was enduring. It's like the cruelty of the abuse, tackling leading to injections that I could not protect myself from, played out into my psychosis, I could visually see everything I was experiencing, the tackling, the lights going out as the medication took hold, but my way of making sense of the why behind was the part that was altered, because there was no real way for someone in psychosis to make sense of unprovoked violence. I experienced it as life threatening to the point where I thought I had died, repeatedly, which is sadly very representative of the violation that repeated unprovoked tackling, followed by forcible injections, in a non violent person feels like. He had a look of discomfort and almost shock that I told him I remembered him. Which makes sense because I can think of two instances where I was focused on him in my delusion. The instance where I asked the staff to call the authorities on him as he directed their harm against me, and reading his badge, which likely would have stood out to him as unusual. It is the same instinct that made it possible for me to share this story about him today. I knew that he was the doctor, he made the calls, and he was directly responsible for the abuse that I endured.

I'm not surprised that they already retain a poor review status. They seem friendly and professional at first but have serious deficiencies in their ability to accurately analyze situations with sensible reason. After extraordinary delay, the doctor issued multiple recommendations which contradict the valued opinions of my family, my health-care providers and myself. I lost confidence in the capability of this organization to conduct investigations fairly and effectively. Consideration of evidence should lead to conclusions encompassed by facts. I'm unsure if whether the cause for such discrepancies from reality are because of neglectful observational incompetence or some abused promotional marketing strategy but I urge others to use caution before subjecting their vulnerabilities to the damaging consequences that this practice recklessly invokes. I pray that they do better for the sakes of any future patients but after this experience I cannot hold high expectations.

I experienced retaliation from a female counselor, ML, and her mentor SD. This facility is behaving abusively to very sick, vulnerable individuals that come to them expecting help and support in their journey of recovery. Some courts don’t even accept this treatment center due to its instability and lack of proper monitoring of patients (I.e. they do not UA and they give certain favored clients one test while the give other clients another. There’s also a level of sexism and favoritism between patients. They don’t appreciate honesty and will condone and praise the people that lie; mostly because it makes their job easier to not deal with problems. They cancel appointments regularly and don’t inform patients of this before hand, so you show up to find your counselor is out sick yet again. I will be surprised if they stay much longer under these conditions. I would recommend West Sound Treatment Center Poulsbo or S'Klallam treatment center in port Gamble.

When i started here i was very direct about a brain injury that affects my memory and stated i need reminders for every appointmwnt due to this. I would get my reminder after the appointment was missed in the form of telling me i missed an appointment. Not once did i receive an appointment reminder prior to my appointment. When I was told I needed a full psychological evaluation by a disability physician, I asked my therapist here and she dropped me as a patient instead. She declined the testing due to my attendance being below 80% and would not accept any responsibility for that even though I never received a reminder for a single appointment. To add more injury, she called me refusing to fill out paperwork required by DSHS. So now i will be losing benefits thanks to this company. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AND I HOPE THEY GET SHUT DOWN. To my therapist Katrina, you are not a good person. You don't just drop someone who needs help and who is asking g for help and then cause them to lose much needed benefits for people and their children. I hope you rot.

Vears is so incompetent its abusive. Six months of "we'll do that next week" but we never do. Six months of everything I say getting dismissed in two sentences. Six months of literally being twisted up in anxiety while she sits in complete unhelpful silence doing some sort of breathing exercise for herself. Six months of "we don't need a plan for treatment, oh you insist? we'll do that next week". Six months of never being able to look at her. I have no idea what she looks like. I don't want to know. I just want someone who will treat me like a patient who can get better instead of some animal who needs pacification.

My daughter received residential treatment in Edmonds; and then was transferred to step down treatment; mostly due to our insurance not approving a continued stay. We were told she would return to residential if she wan’t doing well in intensive outpatient. Instead; she was abruptly discharged with no time to plan for follow up care. She continues to struggle with her eating disorder. I recommend avoiding this program altogether

Many of the workers here are fresh out of school and have little experience which makes diagnosing and treatment difficult. In addition, their "peer support professionals" have no actual education in the field. I say this to warn other people about letting your children go with the peer support specialists. My daughter was seeing one of the Peer Support specialists, and she turned me in to cps. This "specialist", Danielle B. had no formal education to understand what my child was saying, and was a previous drug addict herself. She took what was said out of context, inflammed it and reported it to CPS. I withdrew my child from this program and let Danielle know that we had our daughters situation handeled. Danielle told CPS that I said I was pulling my daughter because "too many people were involved and I was worried about cps". She also lied and stated I did not have my 12 year old in school at all. I received the CPS records today to confirm her statements.

Overlake can be really great, unfortunately when it comes to psychiatry that’s not the case. I came in at the end of summer and saw a woman doctor, she was very pushy about medications that I wasn’t comfortable taking. So I used my once in a life time provider switch and he can’t seem to remember what medications I’ve said absolutely not to, he then told another on call psychiatrist to give me that exact medication I said no to and launched a really stressful conversation with a provider I didn’t know who ended up making the situation much worse, he won’t give me a medication that could genuinely help but he’ll offer me a stronger version of a medication I hated, I was literally a minute past the grace period and they told me I can’t come in and that they were going to charge me a fee when I was literally in the parking lot, and on top of everything, they’re IMPOSSIBLE to obtain an appointment within a week or two. This is the lowest level of psychiatric care for mental health and would recommend looking elsewhere maybe not in a hospital.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Washington?
When comparing providers in Washington, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Washington?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Washington?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Washington providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Washington providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
