I have attended this facility for almost three years, receiving exclusively mental health treatment. In that time, I have swapped providers 4 separate times. There is a high turnover rate in the profession, and especially for this facility. I worked hard establishing a routine that supported my undertakings as a 6 class/semester college student. Under the guidance of previous providers, I managed my ADHD well enough to secure a recurrent spot on the Dean's list. That was until the most recent swap. After yet another provider quit, I was forced to see a single provider, change my regime that I established with their peers over multiple years, and started to stumble in school. Despite advocating for myself over months, I was forced to spend several hundreds of dollars receiving a second opinion to feel heard for the first time in several months. I decided after years of establishing my sovereignty as a veteran of the Navy following a sexual assault and pregnancy, then stabilizing my mental health—one provider should not alter the progress others have done, and I have decided to stop seeing anyone at SIH. Others should know, this is not a great long-term solution given the recurrent swaps. You never know if the replacement will uphold the historical clinical standards you worked years to establish, even if their peers did the work at the same facility. It can be disregarded entirely, and that matters in the eyes of a patient. Please note, at large, this facility mainly treats addiction. Even if you are a mental health patient, the addiction risk standard may be applied to your care uniformly. Expect urinalysis, monitoring, and frankly—the same posturing surrounding the use of stimulants in your care. I would not recommend this facility, but I would have a year ago. It breaks my heart, but I feel it is important that others are aware of the potential experiences they may encounter. If you have to be seen here, ensure you are vocal surrounding your informed consent of alternatives! There are other options, and other providers, and other places to be seen. You deserve autonomy in that choice.
