For a behavioral service, they sure do not understand dementia. My mother with cognitive issues missed her initial appointment. We called multiple times to try to verify the appointment ourselves, had no response. We spoke with someone in the office they informed us, they had spoke to my mother and told her of her appointment. When we explained, she had dementia and we are power of attorney that didn’t seem to matter. So much so they have sent a $75 bill for a no-show appointment. They have not received any paperwork from us, we have signed nothing saying we were aware of a $75 no-show fee. Now that charge is gone to collections. The person in their billing office won’t do anything about it because it has to go through the Office manager? The office manager, my wife contacted months ago with no response. Essentially, they have violated her consumer rights, charged an unfair fee and won’t do anything about it.
Called to get assistance regarding my situation and they were going to help me set up therapy but refused to give me the appointment because I wouldn’t be allowed to bring my disabled baby. The world is not set up for women with disabled children in crisis especially. Did you know disabled children are 64% more likely to be assaulted ? It’s not as easy as “finding a sitter” I am on an island all alone.
I was very apprehensive about going to this place, because well I had just come out to my boyfriend. When we arrived I could barely talk and Jon took us in for an appointment.Jon is very nice and accepting of all people. He meets you where you are at mentally. I have nothing but respect for what Jon does for the LGBTQ+ community. I would recommend this place to everyone who needs a listening ear.
Charlatans! Deer Oaks is contracted by nursing homes purely to medicate residents in nursing homes & they don’t even do it responsibly, unless you are familiar with your rights. The past four years, my observation of Deer Oaks is that they are only around to keep tabs on us. A few conversations I had with a few Deer Oaks reps left me with the notion that they will only enable someone’s behavior, regardless if they are confused/deluded. They aren’t here to help people come back to reality & I feel that an investigation into Deer Oaks is strongly merited.
I was struggling with OCD and the psych wards kept telling me I was bipolar and malingering and sending me back home on the wrong medication. Until I saw the dr there I was very confused and giving up on figuring out what was wrong with me. It’s not the highest quality facility but I felt safe, saw a dr and was fed. The shower burns hotter than hell and there may be some black mold in there but overall I’m better off for being there.

The receptionist and staff are always there with a smile. The atmosphere is cheerful and welcoming. The nurses and nurse practitioners are ver aware of your health issues and they are there to help you with your problems. Thank you Community Health Center of Victoria, Texas!
Working with Cindy Todd at Genesis Behavioral Health has been a profound and life changing experience. Cindy’s holistic approach to therapy is effective, practical, and motivating. I gain new insights at every session with her and have made consistent improvements in my quality of life since I began working with her in 2022. I now view therapy as an essential component of my health, wellness, and professional development plan. After trying numerous therapists over the years, I feel truly blessed to have the privilege of working with Cindy. She is kind, compassionate, highly skilled in her work, and equipped to help others navigate our modern world.
Dr. Greer was kind and very patient. I thought the results were explained well and she helped my family with getting the right therapy started.
Appointments got pushed back MULTIPLE TIMES and TERRIBLE communication on follow up appointments . You would probably get more help from a rock than an actual mental health facility. -10/10
I have been calling since feb 12 trying to get my son an evaluation. No matter if I call daily or even multiple times a day NO ONE calls me back to schedule the appointment. I can’t get any information from the ladies who answer the phone. This process is incredibly discouraging.
I felt very comfortable my first visit and my second was very opposite. This is already a hard step to take and not feeling comfortable with the provider is not a good fit for this type of care. She was very condescending. I wasn’t going to leave a description until I read further into other reviews and someone else felt the exact way I did, which gave me even more validation for the way I thought my appointment went. It is also very hard to get a hold of someone with the direct # to that location. They give an option to leave a message but I wanted to speak to someone and waited over 30 minutes before I gave up. It also appears the provider I was seeing has been affiliated with several different telehealth psychiatric companies in the past and that should have been a red flag. Do better, someone going thru a mental health breakdown should not feel worse when they get done with an appointment. It feels like she could literally push someone over the edge.

i’m rating this prison a 1 because lf how they treat family as that’s the only thing i can rate them on since i have not been here personally but just how family is being treated, it feels like patients are being treated like they’re in jail. but why is this facility’s staff so rude to family? my dad called when they finally picked up, the woman on the phone was just rude and gave us nothing. “can i speak to my wife (name) her number is xxxx.” and then the woman just says “ok” and hangs up. no explanation, no clear answer, won’t tell us how my mom is doing. completely unprofessional and rude. also, is there any reason for staff to hang up and never answer the phone? the rudeness of employees is making me worried about how they’re treating my mom. how can people trust staff to take care of their loved ones if they don’t even have the decency to be nice to them and give clear answers??

I have nothing but love for the VA healthcare and this clinic. My doctor, Sylvia Amakwe, found nutritional deficiencies (B12, D and potassium) and put me on supplements, and this has improved my life dramatically. She is kind and thorough and I think she’s great. She referred me for ENT as I had buildup in my ears and they scheduled that at this clinic for yesterday and took care of it expeditiously. Word to anyone using VA healthcare though. DO NOT miss your appointments. If you have to miss, CALL THEM and let them schedule someone else in your spot. Be 15 minutes early. They are fast and efficient and expect patients to not waste their time. Think of how it was in the military, that is the way VA healthcare is. Me personally, I have nothing but love for all of them.

It not a good place staff is never around and they treat us like prisoners here council is never around. They can’t keep your business a secret. They break HIPAA like crazy out here. State needs to get involved and do investigations cause it seems like staff has relationships with the men who stay here. would not recommend anybody coming out here. This place is a hazard.

Dr. Sanchez is incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable . She truly listens and makes you feel comfortable and cared for. Very grateful for Dr. Sanchez compassion and professionalism.

Absolute waste of my time. They made us wait 3 hours just to be denied and they were rude. I would rate 0 stars if I could. The lady’s who work up at the front desk hung up on my father! Don’t waste your time!

The brunette girl receptionist is very fake and rude as heck. She makes people feel uncomfortable when walking in. Carrus is an alright company but some folks they hire are just fake and weird as heck!!! Please provide customer service to your clients and family and train ALL staff on communication and good customer service!!!
