I had an excellent experience with KND Behavioral Health, especially with Kimberly. She is professional, compassionate, and really takes the time to listen and understand your needs. Her guidance and support have made a real difference in my mental health journey. The staff at KND is friendly and welcoming, and the whole process — from scheduling to appointments — is smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend Kimberly and KND Behavioral Health for anyone seeking quality, personalized behavioral health care.

This place is horrible. I came in for a assessment because I'm just getting out of the federal system from doing 9 years. I explained to my PO that I hadn't done drugs in almost 15 years. He said it's up to the person doing my assessment to determine if I need drug classes. The lady doing my assessment was clearly impressed by me and my intelligence. She said that I carry myself in a very professional manner. However at the end of the assessment she said that I need to come to these classes once a month. I explained to her that I finally found someone to hire me and that these classes would interfere with my job and I'll get fired because I'm on a 90 day period. When I asked her why I need the class she couldn't give me a answer. All she kept saying is that I could be a good example for the other people in the group. So I'm asking her, you basically want me to come in and do volunteer work that's going to cost me my job just so you can get paid off me being there, smh. This lady didn't care about my struggle to get myself established back in the community. I can see if I needed the service but I haven't used drugs in almost 15 years. She tries to act like she so sweet and innocent but all they trying do is put a few dollars in their pocket and not worried if I get fired or not. There is no integrity within her to make me come to a class knowing I don't need this service

I would not recommend this place at all for children. We went for an assessment and the environment is not suitable for children. I wish I had listened to my initial gut reaction when we waited in the lobby and left instead of waiting for an assessment. I had no idea as it was my first experience looking for an assessment of my child, but glad I eventually stuck with my gut and refused services. Will be taking my child to Children's instead. This place is incredibly manipulative and unethical. While we were waiting in the lobby area, we witnessed a girl that was being detained and cussing out the police. I witnessed patients being discharged that looked like they had been fed so much medicine they were almost zombie like. They kept my ID and insurance card until we were called back to be seen and now I understand that is a tactic they use to keep you at the facility. When we were called back, I clarified again for the 3rd time that we were only there for an assessment and to get options for out patient therapy and resources for therapists. They confirmed that was totally what we were doing. In the meantime, they locked away my belongings and then put my son and I in a room with another patient (child) who looked to be no more than 9. She had no parent with her and she looked like she had been heavily medicated as well. They ended up taking that patient somewhere and in the meantime, the cops and girl who had been cussing and fighting them were brought down. They took the girl's picture and then put her in the same waiting room and my son and I with no cops or workers to ensure our safety. At this point, I made the decision to leave and take my son to Children's for his assessment. When I asked for my belongings and let them know, they informed me that we had already filled out paperwork to be admitted so if we left it would be against medical advisement and they would call CPS on us ... Told me that they were ready to do his assessment now and then they could get us out of there. So against my better instincts, we stayed and did the assessment. They kept feeding me more paperwork and looked like they were trying to keep my 7 year old there in-patient even though I had told them we would not be doing that and he did not need that level of therapy. I went as far to write that on one of his forms. After the "licensed" therapist came to assess my son, the head lady came back and said that if we left it would be against medical advice and they would call CPS...we signed the paperwork and left. We went to children's the next day and had an amazing experience for his assessment, he was cleared and we were provided resources to set him up with weekly therapy. Dallas Behavioral is incredibly unethical and even if someone did indeed need in patient care, I would highly advise you stay away from there. Every patient I saw was heavily medicated and very zombie like. I feel so terrible for all of the kids there with no parent to advocate for them. I will say while the staff was very manipulative, they were kind in all of my personal interactions. It was the most traumatizing day of my life and would advise you to stay away!

Came to Tricounty Cleveland to get desperate help with my depression. The staff here are rude, don’t matter what day, and they treat their patients like nothing more than paychecks. The attending doctor is the only one who’s not and you mostly interact with her via Skype. Unless you’re suicidal, you’ll have to wait MONTHS to get into any kind of therapy and when you finally do, they will turn around and drop you for absolutely no reason at all. Don’t matter if you do “everything right”, they’ll just decide to just stop helping you and lie to your face about it as well. They treat everyone that comes in like they’re a “junky” and throw pills at you rather than give any real help. Honestly the whole facility needs a desperate restaffing because they’ve been operating like this for YEARS and honestly can’t understand how these people are supposed to “help” anyone struggling with any kind of mental health issues.

This facility and any like it should be closed. This should be illegal to hold people against their will who are not diagnosed or medicated with any mental Illness. . 4 months ago my family member was unfortunately transferred to this facility unknown to us or him, we thought he was going to an emergency room since I called 911 for a medical emergency. Instead, He was held against his will for a week. He was transferred immediately from this facility to an actually emergency room because he was having a medical emergency. Apparently since police had believed it was not a medical emergency, at the initial call they discriminated against him and assumed since he is a veteran, it must be mental health. He was treated at the emergency room, then brought back to that facility. The next day he was continuing to experience the medical emergency since that facility is not

They're absolutely irresponsible. I went to the crisis center numerous times, because they could not prescribe me the right medication. It took 12 years for another doctor to give me what I needed. All of my suffering could have been avoided. To top it off they violated all of my HIPPA rights. Why they wanted to hurt me vs help me is beyond me.

My father has been going to this treatment center since the beginning of January. These last 2 to 3 months has not been easy for him. His health has been declining to the point where he found out that he has cancer, we have been reaching out as a family to see how we can get him early released for medical leave to get the proper care that he needs? This facility staff has been neglecting my dad’s Health, and missing all of his doctor’s appointments and he can’t take medication that’s he actually needs. My father will ask if they will contact , the emergency for an ambulance to pick him up. They will disregard his right as patient and get mad if family call 911 for emergency to pick him up and take him to the hospital because he’s not feeling well. Dealing with heart failure, cancer, and fluid causing his feet to swell and now has blood clots in chest because they refused to get him medical attention. Family had to contact them emergency services again because of these issues continue to get neglected. It’s unfortunate that visitors can’t see their loved ones to help with treatment is devastating. My father not perfect when it comes down to justice system but he’s definitely human being that’s love by his kids, grandkids, family & friends that will support him through the process. I honestly don’t want my father health get worse before we can actually get help. I pray someone signs off for medical leave soon.

Place is absolutely horrible food is fine but the PTC’s rude and disrespectful to the kids. One PTC was talking about a very political topic to KIDS. One grown male PTC was arguing with a group of 12 year old girls for staying in a group together and were talking. This place does not help with mental health if anything makes it worse. If your child genuinely is not okay please don’t take them here. All the kids just stay inside and watch tv 2 non black kids also said the hard r and had no repercussions. waste of money don’t go here genuinely a very traumatic experience.

Although I was properly cared for as far as being watched... they don't have classes during the day like coping skills or just activities.. snacks could be more then just 2,drinks should be unlimited unless I got that part wrong.. the elders need to get more snacks and those boost drinks. Just tv...cards & coloring will drive a person mad after 3days.. more activities more involvement with the patients. SNACKS NEED TO BE UNLIMITED TOO! There was so many of us in there starving in between meals just because we was bored. Maybe do paper sacks with fruits and sandwiches and graham crackers and pretzels and figs if the unlimited snacks isn't an option. That way nobody sneaking food from the cafeteria! Lol 1 star only because I was also given a toothbrush that was used and that was gross. Nurses nothing against yall .. bless you for putting up with patients like myself lol...

Running Tammy off from the Kaufman Tx location was a HUGH mistake. Tammy showed not only compassion for people but took her job seriously. She is professional and would return calls with solutions to your questions. The billing has always been an issue. Sometimes I would get an invoice but there were no deals as to history date of appointments for the cost of billing. It just had a total amount to pay. Who would pay trusting their billing records was correct or not? Then there was other times the charges were taken right at location immediately after appointment. A printed receipt was given. Now there are insufficient employees who act like somewhere else would be better than the office they are in. I ran out of medication because of a scheduling mistake. I was told I could not get a call back from a doctor nor a virtual urgent time to speak to doctor for less than 10 minutes. Recently I was given a card with 4-3-26, with staff knowing they are closed on Fridays. I was unaware so I drove to location to find a sign on door informing business operation hours This location is awful. I will locate another service provider. This is people’s lives/mental health you’re dealing with. I do not recommend Child & Family Guidance the Kaufman Texas location.

I cannot recommend this practice for patients who require reliable psychiatric continuity of care. Over the past year, I was not consistently assigned a psychiatrist, and prior to that experienced repeated provider changes without stable longitudinal oversight. Psychiatric treatment requires consistent provider assignment and structured medication management. That continuity was not reliably maintained. During my most recent appointment, I arrived early and was present in the lobby from 8:10 AM for an 8:15 AM appointment. After navigating check-in issues and resolving a financial verification requirement (despite that information already being on file within another department), I was ultimately still waiting over an hour past my scheduled time. At 9:20 AM, more than 60 minutes past my appointment time, I made the decision to leave and requested that my presence and wait time be documented. While individual staff members were polite when directly engaged, the overall administrative systems demonstrated significant inefficiencies and lack of coordination. For patients seeking stable, timely psychiatric care — especially those requiring medication oversight — I would strongly encourage confirming how continuity and scheduling delays are handled before establishing care here.

This is one very thorough place they helped me out by explain to me what my proper diagnosis was went to Athens facility in Texas and I met a doctor named Furlong I hope they say his name properly cuz he is one excellent physician in this field of psychiatry there's only one issue and I didn't do something properly during my visit with him but I hope to clear the air fully but I get to go through the experience again they also have another wonderful office in Canton Texas don't hesitate just make sure you have all programs before you start your treatment so because there suddenly away there's any cost involved that because of the overwhelming caseload for professional psychiatric treatment so be patient add paperwork ready remember the human beings like us working with artificial intelligence and they do the best they can so sometimes they might say something a patient Ed clinical staff have to work together to get a real diagnosis improper treatment so don't have fear trying to have an open mind the medical professionals of today because they're doing the best I can do to perform the best job they can for people like us and may be blessed with realization of care and now I realize that I can't deal with this by myself without proper treatment so I'm going back in to try again and I hope I keep my mind open and sharp okay will you do the right thing

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Texas?
When comparing providers in Texas, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Texas?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Texas?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Texas providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Texas providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
