I struggled with OCD for most of my life, not realizing what it was or how to do deal with it. After meeting with Michelle I quickly realized I was able to take back control of my own life and get back in the drivers seat. Michelle is one of a kind. Truly. She helped change my life and helped me understand my brain when I couldn’t put what I was feeling into words. I refer everyone I know to her, who struggles with OCD. Without her I don’t believe I would be where I am at today.

They do their best to help. Biggest problem is the extremely high turn over rate of case workers/service providers. It makes it hard for kids to build trust and to get consistent care. Wish they would quit hiring these kids fresh out of college that see this job as a stepping stone, and bring in a bunch of seasoned workers that genuinely care and want to be there. They are making improvements and some of the recent hires are excellent!! The nurses are sweet and really good ladies and Dr. Lineback is so smart and great with my kids! Dr. Faust is an absolute pompous a** and cares about his ego, nothing else.

A very recommended place. I felt comfortable and was well treated by all staff. Everyone is real respectful. I truly enjoyed all meals that were made, especially when Fabiola would cook. She is a very great cook and extremely polite with nothing but kindness to offer. I felt welcomed from the start. I also enjoyed the night techs. Very helpful, especially Chris and Dale. Thank you for your services .

From the very professional and encouraging intake all the way through the very thorough meeting with Dr. Nguyen, this entire experience exceeded my expectations. Both were great listeners, nonjudgmental, probing for what would be best for me, while also introducing newer options for treatments. The receptionist was also a bright spot. Exceptional service.

Sun Behavioral is a good place to help you to get off drugs and help motivate others if that's your goal too. There is outside time and smoke breaks and the staff are stellar. Could use at least 1 security guard at one of the units but it's safe for the most part.

Gary and Jeanie in the evening CD group are great. I struggled for a long time and have kept coming back to this group because of these two. Gary educates us on alcohol and addiction in a context that I can understand. He keeps the group on point, but in a fun and encouraging atmosphere.

Patrick and Regina are excellent therapists. They always make time for us. Group is a great mix of people from different backgrounds but it’s a safe and welcoming place. Cognitive behavior is a big focus on treatment as well as group sharing and classes on mindfulness. If you are open to healing, listening, sharing, and relating to other people, you will see an improvement in your well being very quickly. I think that if you come in closed minded, not appreciating what others can teach you, you may feel unsatisfied. I am very grateful for the program. Everyone in the group have been wonderful welcoming people and we become a close knit support system for each other. The therapist really help with that as well — encouraging unity and sharing. More people should use a service like this.

This location was a great choice. I experienced a very short wait time and was greeted by an extremely helpful staff. I would especially like to personally thank my case worker Kameron! He put forth his time and dedication to make sure all my questions were answered and went over and beyond to make sure I had all the necessary paperwork that I needed via email. Thanks again for all you do Kameron, I greatly appreciate you!

I did the 8 week Intensive Outpatient Program and it saved my life. I found it easy to open up in a group setting. My group was very diverse in age and experiences. It was very helpful to hear that so many others were feeling the exact same things I did, even if it was caused by a different experience. I'd highly recommend Pathlight to everyone in any stage of their mental health discovery.

My child had an excellent experience here. We sent our kiddo five states away to be in this program after extensively interviewing other programs on the east half of the nation. They did wonders for our kid. Do not hesitate to send your child here. The therapy was tremendous and nutritional education and learning to plate and make decisions about food really helped. My kid still misses and talks about res. I think that says a lot! Thank you CFD! ❤️

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Texas?
When comparing providers in Texas, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Texas?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Texas?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Texas providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Texas providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
