If you have an option to look elsewhere please do, I apologize this might upset people. Especially those in charge of crossroads. You could just think how I could treat people better instead of how can a make some cash. You are probably the same people that demonize drug dealers yet you're feeding of those that are looking for help. Come to us you say, with a credit card, only difference dealers take cash

Ruth is very rude at the front desk poorly manages the way calls are handled.. I say 1 swear word on the phone she hangs up like shes acts like she is the closest thing to Mother Mary... I originally called so my grandma can get scheduled for an over the phone call appt which she has had numerous times but they still refuse to do it Plus she is bedridden so how do you expect her to get there? . Seems all Ruth cares about it a paycheck which is beyond pathetic at this point.

Violated HIPAA by sending my child's information (including their name, address, and school district) to another consumer. They did very little to actually remedy my situation other than offering to mail the letter again. I've been at this company for almost 10 years and it's an absolute nightmare now. Please contact literally any other mental health service in the county, not the guidance center.

ATN seemed to be great at first then over the last 2 months has gone downhill. Financially struggling, losing staff because they can't figure things out & making people who check themselves in to treatment through them stay in IOP so they get the payments from insurance. Therapists leaving, whether forced or by choice, but the high ups act like everything is fine when their patients are the ones who matter yet don't get to discuss what could possibly be changed or anything. Some therapists have a group that's more of a social time so you don't learn anything in group & it's a waste of time. Offer transport as they should for patients who need it & then fail & tell the patients to arrange transport services through insurance, if they have that choice - you're supposed to help with that service if you offer it but then you complain & threaten the patients not showing up because they didnt have a way to get there. WHAT A JOKE!

I got worse here. I was never taken seriously, and it took me months of begging to have my social worker get me OUT. Amy Jo is the most unempathetic, hostile, passive aggressive person you’ll ever meet. While I was there, they repeatedly screamed at kids having mental breakdowns and even sent an assault victim into a dark room to sit in the corner and “think about their actions.” They fed me spoiled milk, then blamed me for “not checking the expiration date.” The psychiatrist was cognitively incompetent and never remembered me or my name and changed my medication several times. I threatened to run away from home multiple times because of this place and I desperately wanted any way to get away from these people. I even met a girl in there who agreed to sell me nicotine for some cash and smuggled it into the building daily. If you were even 5 minutes late, you were punished. They have no real therapists there, and don’t care about your education. I was in honors classes despite my mental health, and they forced me to take classes that wouldn’t count towards my college credits even though I pleaded with them to fix it. Please, I’m begging you, do not send your kids here. If you love your child at all, you will go somewhere else and send them somewhere else. I was abused here, lied to here, and mistreated just because of my mental health. They. Do. Not. Care.

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. They speak horribly to family members who call. Additionally, they hire staff who have a poor understanding of the type of care that the individuals in the home need. They ridicule the poor souls that they are supposed to be helping. There is a complete lack of compassion and care. Awful place.

The medication policy has changed multiple times since I’ve been a patient here and it still is not working properly. We’re supposed to call when we’re 3-5 days out from being out of our meds. Every time I’ve done this, I get an appointment that’s well after that 3-5 day window and have to get a bridge prescription, which is stressful, because I’m almost out of my meds and I have to rely on my psych seeing an email before the week is up to get controlled substances filled. Please, if you’re making a change, stick to it. If not, do it the old way considering you already are. Unreal that a place serving the neediest members of society plays so fast and loose with their medication services. This is many Medicaid patients’ only option. This system has literally never worked since it was instituted; I always wind up needing a bridge until my appointment. Fix it for the sake of less patient people than myself with less options.

Psychologist and workers at front desk do not care about their patients/clients. They cancel appointments and don’t make you aware of it… Leaving you without your medication for days on end since NO ONE can pick up a phone at the office. I’ve called all times of the day and had to leave a message every single time. I had stressed over and over how important things were and I needed her to get me in to get a refill and STILL nothing. I strongly reccomend going somewhere else.

My neurologist wanted me to get a neuropsych test done and she gave me a paper with AHN's number. After 3 days, multiple transfers, 8 different numbers only to find out they do NOT do the neuropsych testing at this location! I do not travel very far and I am not going to ask someone to take off work to take me for this test! AHN needs to update their information so others don't have to go through what I have been going through! Now I have to pay for an EXPENSIVE test out of pocket! 😡

Worst office I’ve ever been to. I have been cycled through therapists as one got fired, and the others quit because of bad working conditions. They have no receptionist, they never answer the phone. They also only have one therapist on staff at a time. Right now they are only offering telemedicine and if you refuse because you are uncomfortable with it they kick you out without any notice leaving you without your meds, which is what just happened to me. DO NOT GO HERE Update: the psychologist Patti told me I wasn’t molested

With all the technology out there they still treat the Veterans like children. When you have a referral to outside the clinic. It’s you responsibility to get a letter saying that you showed up like a child or even a addict. How doesn’t it show that we showed or not in the system? How is it fair for an adult to be treat as child to get a letter to prove that they were even there to get travel pay. It’s ridiculous that veterans (adults) have to be striped of their dignity to get a letter saying the showed up to an appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Pennsylvania?
When comparing providers in Pennsylvania, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Pennsylvania?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Pennsylvania?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Pennsylvania providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Pennsylvania providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
