I did not receive any type of therapy to help me with my issues. The place is absolutely disgusting!! For the first 3 days there i didn't even see a single person with a mop or any type of cleaning supplies. Even when they did clean they took about 5 minutes in the room. And it was once, that they came in my room to clean. The food was terrible. You can't have anything to eat except breakfast, lunch, dinner and a nighttime snack. You can't even get a cup of cold water without asking, even then it's usually room temperature. I felt more depressed after coming out of there then was I was admitted. The staff doesn't help out with anything you. You have to ask 5 times for everything you need. Soap, deodorant, even a toothbrush and toothpaste. You can't have any of your personal hygiene products except a toothbrush. It was the one of worst experiences of my entire life. They charge $800 a day. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that needs help. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! I only gave one star because I couldn't leave to review without it.

I wrote a review regarding linden street house and the presidential campus but there wasn’t enough room for everything I wanted to say so I’ll continue here since there’s no listing for those places on here for some reason. Me and the other kids were constantly STARVING. They barely fed us and the food they fed us was disgusting and so we would throw up if we tried to eat it. You weren’t allowed to ask for more of anything on your plate unless you ate everything on your plate which for us kids was impossible because everything but the meat and bread was so disgusting it made us regurgitate it immediately. So we just starved. The bloodwork nurses were so mean and if we cried cause we were scared of the needle they told us to shut up and sit still. They doped all the kids up on powerful potent psych medications and not just one or two but like 4 different ones and most of these kids were not needing even one they just doped us up cause it made us easy to control and made us robotic zombies who obeyed without question. A man who worked at linden street named Dave physically put his arm out while I was running and knocked the air out of me and screamed with his face bright red with anger “no running indoors!!!!!!!” I was in so much pain and he kicked me while I was on the floor and said “go ahead tell your mother I did that to you you can’t prove it!!!!!” He and so many other staff were so evil to the kids. When we cried because of the abuse we were told if we didn’t shut up before the count of three that we would start losing privileges. It made us stuff down our feelings which bottled up and made us explode later on. Then we got punished for that. All the good kids were all emotionally mentally and physically deprived and abused by the staff and the bad sneaky kids that were there with us. Kidspeace was a living hell for children and I still have horrible nightmares about it.

If I could give zero stars i would. 3 days of calling every single phone number listed. Got a live person twice. First person put me on hold until it rang and went dead. Second person gave me an on call person's number who has never called back. Had to call local PD after no response. Lack of person on charge says alot. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. Called seeking mental health care only to be told I need to do therapy first for an unspecified amount of time, then MAYBE i can get in with a doctor. The best part of that is you don’t even get to schedule an appt for therapy. You just have to show up during “open hours” and hope that you get seen…. Are you joking????? Tried explaining i’m willing to do therapy but need to see a doctor soon. Was told on the phone “well why don’t you try your pcp” Aren’t you guys a doctors office? “Helping” people with mental health issues?

Terrible experience — DO NOT get assigned with Dr. Kate Foryt on the second floor!!! She’s a horrible and careless nurse practitioner. before I quit her, I told her I wanted to get off of Risperidone and she said no and refuse several times and kept saying that it’s a great mood stabilizer and my mom and I kept telling her it causes infertility and she said “I don’t see why I should change it.” After that I quit her, she only tapered me a little and I still suffer from weight from risperidone and I have type 2 diabetes now because of the risperidone. She made me feel like if I was a test subject. She had no emotions. Her voice had lack of empathy. Her face was blank, stoic and always emotional blunting. She said she would put me on lithium only for her to say no the next time. When I criticized her, called her out and told her how I felt about her she got pissed off, said I was wasting her time and that she needs to hurry up so she can go see another patient :/

Unfortunately, this is one of the only in-person therapy places in Stroudsburg. I say "unfortunately", because they have not had a psychiatrist on shift in many months. Instead, they have hired a nurse practitioner, 'Mr.Fucci' who has near to no idea how important altering meds can be. There have been multiple times where Fucci has prescribed me the wrong medication, not just once, but at least 3 times. You can tell that he does not genuinely care for his client's well being. The only actual psychiatrist who had left this place was very unprofessional as well. During one of my appointments, she was speaking on her personal cell phone about a custody battle, and something about court (while I am paying for my session).Almost everyone here is unprofessional at their jobs, minus my therapist who actually cares and does his job pretty well. He is still very underpaid regardless. You have to wait over a month to book an appointment with Fucci, if there is even an open spot, for a b.s. and rushed appointment. This place is supposed to be for people who are struggling and want to reach out for help, yet some staff, and the people who run "Clairvita", or Redco don't seem to actually care about you or the help you need. They just want your insurance money or cash from your pocket. They even call you "consumers" on their front desk signage. There have also been times where the front desk staff have canceled my appointments (that I have confirmed) because they failed to reach me and tried to give my confirmed appointment to another patient. I know this because my therapist actually told me so, and said they were lying about some technical issues with their system. Very unprofessional. It is unfortunate for those of us who have no choice but to go here for treatment. Stay strong to you out there also dealing with this place. Sometimes they can make a bad day worse for us.

The fact that they’re still up and running blows my mind. STAY FAR AWAY IF YOU ACTUAL WANT REAL, GENUINE HELP! These people are straight jokers.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They treat people like cattle. In and out with absolutely no feeling. This place should be investigated by the department of health. It’s completely immoral how they treat people with mental heath issues. This is not a place where people who are struggling with mental health should go. They make it worse. Just look at all the reviews. Like they say….if it walks like a duck

Horrible place for neurodivergent folks. Tell them your triggers upfront as a survivor of Applied Behavioral Analysis, they ignore you and begin plastering them at the front of group discussion. You make them aware, they tell you to ignore them. It's like posting concepts from "pray the gay away", but for autism.

I wish I could give stars in multiple negatives because that's the only way I could honestly rate this place. They are only getting one star because it's the lowest I can go. I was going to be silent about my experience but I've changed my mind about that after I reported them to the PA Health Department and absolutely nothing was done or responded to. People need to know to avoid this place like the plague.

If i could. I would give them ZERO stars. They discharged my son to the ed because of his blood sugar was high. While sitting in the room waiting for the results. One of there staff members that was sitting with him fell asleep. It makes me really wonder about the safety of the patients on there night shift. It took us 2.5 hours to get to the ed to see him. We called the ed and they stated he didn't arrive when we were about 1 hr away. We called the facility and they stated that he didn't leave yet. When we got to the ed. He had just arrived. Our son told us the room was filthy. Everything the reviews on here were completely correct. Even the staff cursing around the patients. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. They did not manage his medical condition prompting him to have to go to the ed. After this experience my son was refusing to go back to this facility and or any other facility. No wonder why the children don't get the care they deserve. They didn't explain anything that he was signing. When we called in to see how we can try and get him out. The nursing supervisor was absolutely ignorant towards us. We sent him to you to help him. Not make him feel even worse.

If I could rate Threshold 0 stars, I would. Threshold is the company that owns the only 2 clubhouses in Berks County; Hope Springs Clubhouse and Mosaic House. Currently Threshold is in violation of at least 6 international clubhouse standards. Threshold is changing staffing positions within both clubhouses, while keeping all staff and members of both clubhouses in the dark. Members are supposed to be involved with the interviewing and hiring of all staff positions, including director. Threshold has not included a single member in this process whatsoever. All the staff have left Hope Springs due to the actions of Threshold. And this is deeply affecting the clubhouse members. We are people who struggle with mental health, and Clubhouse is a program that’s supposed to give support, opportunities, help, and safety to these members. But Threshold has treated us members like we don’t matter, like we’re nothing. Threshold has been taking our rights away and trying to silence us. The Threshold staff do not care about mental health whatsoever. All they care about is getting a paycheck. A nonprofit out for profit. And due to Threshold’s actions, Hope Springs Clubhouse has lost the safety and security it once provided the members.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Pennsylvania?
When comparing providers in Pennsylvania, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Pennsylvania?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Pennsylvania?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Pennsylvania providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Pennsylvania providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
