If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. When you hear that a city has resources to help women going through recovery and pregnant and/or fleeing domestic violence with their kids, this is what they mean. I have a whole testimony of this place and my experience there and how grateful I am they do what they do for women in need. They might be the First Step but they help you every step of the way, so long as you let them. 🩷

I was admitted when I was 17 in February of 2026 due to a mental health crisis. I was there around a week, and during my stay I met many helpful staff members who encouraged my recovery. There was a huck who helped me get in contact with my friend, even though I was out of calls for the day. One staff, I believe his name was Mr. Hal, allowed me to confide in him. He was always in a great mood, joking around (he was big on apple juice and I’m pretty sure I heard him mention it 10+ times in the three days i saw him; I hope he got his juice box after work). Another staff, Emma, went above and beyond for me even when she wasn’t my staff. One night a patient was struggling in the dayroom while I was on the phone, so I ended up having to cut my call short (everybody had to go to their rooms). I was stressed about the situation, and she came and sat on the floor of my room with me and talked to me the entire time. Afterwards, she let me go back out and finish up my call, even though it was time for hall time. She would genuinely listen, and always seemed interested in what I had to say. She would talk me down whenever I was mad, and would uplift me when I was feeling upset. Thank you to all three of these staff members, +all of the ones I didn’t mention, for helping me “protect my peace” during my stay, and also equipping me with the skills to cope in my adult life.

I love the therapist I see. She listens and gives great input. She seems like she actually cares. And she flexible with my schedule when things come up. Some times the front desk could use alittle bit of work with what seems to be alittle rudeness and not wanting to be bothered. But I really don’t deal with them enough to care.

I have had several billing insurance issues with Vital Health with private insurance. The constant turnover in staff has been a major issue and the unprofessionalism of the counselors reaching out to me by text messages. I have tried to call many times to resolve issues and I am constantly ignored. They will not take the calls or return the calls. Not even a return call to get medications renewed that can't be missed.

At one point I was seeing a lady named Amber for therapy, and they presentd her as a therapist and she presented herself as such, but she only had a BACHELOR'S in SOCIAL WORK. That is fraud and probably malpractice and illegal. And she was not helpful at all and just made me ever more stressed.

Cedar Ridge has saved my life ! I don’t have any support at home because no one is an addict and they don’t understand. I have the best counselor and she listens and helps me so much! Everyone is super friendly and helpful! Go if you are ready to work on yourself. Sobriety is a life long commitment and I will always be a patient at Cedar Ridge. Been there since 2018. I have watch this place grow and extend in much needed services. It’s not just for addicts, it’s for mental health, and so many other programs. Highly recommend !

They cannot take on anymore work load. This is my first visit. I’m very sick. First impression, right off the bat, the nurse that takes your vitals acted like there was a fire, she had to escape, she was going so fast, throwing things on me, ripping them off, I don’t even know whats going on it was all so fast. They took swabs. Day two of waiting for them to call me back. They close in 8 minutes. Guess that’s not happening today either. So now I have to go somewhere else for care and spend even more money. Do not go here if you need actual help. I still don’t know what’s wrong with me but I bet I’ll get that bill in the mail! 🙄

Beyond grateful that I met Allison at a resource fair! I really felt heard after speaking to her. Family Solutions has helped me in so many ways and I definitely recommend them if you actually want to be helped because they are all for their clients. They help you work towards YOUR goals, not what they think your goals should be. Everyone I’ve talked to at this agency, down to the secretary Dianna, has been so helpful! Five stars for sure!!!!

Joe is fantastic. He really makes you feel welcomed and able to open up and connect with your feelings. He has lots of experience with epilepsy, that really made me more confident and comfortable as well. He also talks back to you when you ask him a question or for his opinion about something!! I'm always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome by the front desk personnel.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Ohio?
When comparing providers in Ohio, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Ohio?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Ohio?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Ohio providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Ohio providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
