I don’t understand how Bridgewell Counseling Services gets bad reviews. I have the upmost respect for them. I can not begin to explain how much I went from bad to good . COVID 2020 I began at Bridgewell and had an exit interview thinking I was capable.I insisted going back after I had a 2nd mental relapse due to osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia’s chronic pain the central sensitivities came crashing worse than ever .A Special Shout out and Thank you to my friend and therapist Rex . You have been my wings I appreciate you !

Not sure what the issue is because the workers seem happy with each other, but they treat their patients extremely poorly. I am happy with my practitioner (not the extremely long wait it takes to see her, but she is kind and helpful at least), but the receptionists are terribly rude. Being ill and having to pay an arm and a leg for healthcare is bad enough. Doctor's offices should be kind, patient, and responsive (quickly and efficiently) to their patients. Lahey, please do something to correct this and don't take your patients for granted, not just for money's sake, but because you are a healthcare business that is supposed to be dedicated to taking good care of people. Thank you.

The whole place stinks of insurance scamming...I tried to get into some detox center, ended up going to a different place through my work. My insurance was billed for 28 straight days with medication orders and the works. Notified the medical board of ethics and my insurance fraud department.

The AC in the waiting room needs to be fixed in the Taunton office. Patient's shouldn't have to sit in a HOT waiting room, with just a fan blowing hot air around. You should be ashamed of how you treat your patient's and their family member's who are waiting for them. Absolutely insane how hot it is out there and then to have staff come out wrapped in blankets. One staff member tried to help by leaving the door open but was informed by the front desk staff that it was not allowed. Bend the rules a little to help out the sweaty people in your waiting room. I don't know her name but thank you for trying.

Unfortunately while I was attending counseling here, I was passed around like the sisterhood of traveling pants/ hand me downs, in the time frame of 2 years I was passed thru 8 therapists, all to which seemed to be interns not one person seemed to know there job after my first therapist Lisa H, which I was with for about 8 months before she transferred to another better paying job, it's not therapeutic to drag your past through the mud 8 times with different people for those of you seeking professional help this is not the place to get that help

this place is horrible. I’m 15 years old, on the adolescent floor. And I was sent here back in December for the first time. The first few days they’re really nice, but when you been staying there it gets horrible. You get in trouble for everything and not to mention u have to fill out a behavioral packet. The food is disgusting and doesn’t help when someone is struggling with food already. I was then sent here again about a week ago. and this place feels like prison now. It got much worst u can barley do crafts, they took away the markers, pencils . there is nothing to do but stare at a wall or go to sleep. I was then sent out of here by ambulance ( my parents didn’t even know I was going there until I got to the hospital with a RC then they got a call. due to not eating for 48 hours!! They have a 24 hour policy were they would send you but it took them 48 hours. I wasn’t in good condition when I got the hospital let’s just say that. I’ll never be the same person from what cedc did to me. it feels like prison people would get in trouble all day long because there was nothing to do. save yourself don’t go here!!!

First off I never complain give advice or do reviews online but this experience blew my mind. I couldn't believe how unprofessional my first visit iwas lit was horrible I felt judged, anxious exstremely uncomfortable all the feelings you don't want to be feeling on your first visit They wanted to do a back round check before they even met me which was a invasion of my privacy I never heard of such a thing The staff was very rude and treated me like I was a fly on the wall the staff kept staring at me and giggling I was so disrespected I was nothing but polite to them.l was so embarrassedI I just wanted to get the hell out of there and never look back but I really needed the help and I was willing to give it a chance....big mistake It didn't get better it was just one bad experience after another. Any way If you really need help for your wall being Ii would recommend going somewhere else where you are treated like a human being and receive the proper care you deserve.

Please never send a child here. This is the absolute worst possible place anyone could ever live. I was sent to the Framingham location simply because their where no foster homes. Not because I committed crimes, or did drugs or anything. As soon as I arrived the staff screamed and taunted me. Living conditions where horrible, disgusting plumbing and bathrooms rooms the size of closets. No doors on bedrooms, just curtains that staff would rip off for their own amusement. The staff are beyond awful and harmed us and would get away with it as a “restraint” I witnessed kids be tackled, kicked punched and thrown for as little as not sitting still. I can not believe how long this as to be, and I still won’t be able to describe the horror of this place. Every day we were forced to sit in silence with absolutely nothing to do, and given punishment if we moved. No clean drinking water, disgusting bathroom sinks and a kitchen sink that only had boiling hot water. Almost no food. Of we had food staff would eat it, or throw it away. Laundry was impossible to get done because staff used it for personal laundry. When I reported these things I was pulled aside and asked about it. I told them and they did nothing. They told anybody who had given complaints that we where liars and unreliable sources. Staff are bully’s and terrible people. No therapeutic support for a “behavioral help center” I feel I and so many others deserve justice and compensation. But as always they they will deny and refuse to change this program. Insane this is still open.

Basically never exhausted all resources. If they think so, they basically should admit that they are not equipped to helping anyone at all. I only used psychiatric services. They don’t give a damn about you. The director basically screamed at me over the phone a call she initiated to tell me to stop asking for help. Don’t bother all they care about is make the school look good and earn money. Capitalism sucks when they aren’t even equipped to helping.

After the renovation, the service at this pharmacy has gotten worse. It has 5 service booths and only two are working. Now, waiting in line for a medicine takes over an hour. It's better to go home. They need more employees or the employees don't want to work. The worst pharmacy I've ever been to in my life. Definitely don't get your medicine there. I've been to the Jackson St clinic for years, but now I'm thinking about changing because it's unacceptable how everything has gotten worse, from getting medical care to getting medication. Before, the clinic wasn't aesthetically appealing, but it was of good quality. Today, it's beautiful but the quality is 0. I wish it were the same as before. Changes aren't always good. Now they have a beautiful clinic, a beautiful and organized pharmacy, but they don't have good service in either place. They post photos on their social media and social actions, but the population is dissatisfied and is being treated like trash and without respect.

I am almost shaken by the horrible experiences people have had here, according to the reviews. I was very unaware of all the people that described their cruel treatment. As for me, nurse practitioner Jen Marlin has been nothing but real, caring and extremely smart. She cares and has a sense of humor. My conversations with her are ALWAYS positive and she is very careful with managing my meds. I've known her for over a year. I don't get a live person on the phone besides the receptionist when I call but I've always gotten a return call in a reasonable amount of time. If you decide to get treatment here, I suggest you research the staff reviews. It's obvious to me that it's not all bad here, you just have to pick and choose I guess.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Massachusetts?
When comparing providers in Massachusetts, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Massachusetts?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Massachusetts?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Massachusetts providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Massachusetts providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
