went there a couple years. had the same therapist. she used the same techniques over and over again for 2 years. i kept telling her more CBT isn't gonna work. eventually she found the place had a program for people with my condition and talked about signing me up for it, but I was 1 month too old for the programs age range so I couldn't. Needless to say I was only going here because my insurance didn't cover anywhere else. I would suggest this place be a last resort for you as well.

I agreed to see someone because of diabetes. Started to eat whole foods, lost 51 pounds, went into diabetic remission. One of the counselor's decided to call a place in MA. For eating disorders, which I did not have! Turned out, I was right the whole time. Was a thyroid problem. But, they labeled me as anorexic any way. I tried to fight it, but they refused to listen. Then said I was to be excluded from any group that has any physical exertion. This included yoga!! Also, I am now being billed by a medical practice that I have never been too!

I only still go here because like my therapist but they are the worst. The front desk and financial people are both horrible and actually kind of mean considering they deal with mental health. Also, CBHA often times mismanages my prescriptions and I often have to beg for refills on time so I don’t lapse. Not the best place at all but they take my insurance.

I had a very concerning experience at this dental office. I went in for a wisdom tooth extraction and experienced severe complications afterward, including exposed bone, intense ongoing pain, and numbness in my lip and chin. When I returned to report these symptoms, I felt my concerns were dismissed. Despite the level of pain I was in, I was told there was nothing that could be done. During one visit, the dentist asked me, “Do you have kids?” When I said yes, he responded, “How did you do that?” This comment felt sarcastic and dismissive, especially given how much pain I was in at the time. I ultimately had to seek care elsewhere, including going to the emergency room and undergoing additional surgical treatment to address the issue. This experience has been physically and emotionally exhausting. I expected better communication, professionalism, and follow-up care after a surgical procedure. No patient should be made to feel this way while seeking care, I felt unheard and unsupported throughout this process. I did not show up to 2 different appointments and no one called to check on me or anything. I would not recommend this office based on my experience.

1 Star – Completely Unreliable and Unprofessional StayWell Health has canceled or rescheduled three dental appointments in a row for my father — three times, at both the Naugatuck and Waterbury, CT locations. Each time, I had to take PTO from work, only to find out at the very last minute that the dentist just didn’t show up. No explanation, no accountability. They do call — but unreliably and always at the last minute, sometimes the day of the appointment. On the first visit, they even wrote down the wrong phone number and didn’t bother to check any of the five forms I filled out, each of which had multiple call back numbers. The front desk seems overwhelmed or disinterested, and the whole operation feels disorganized and careless. If your time, your job, or your loved one’s healthcare matters to you, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This level of incompetence is not just frustrating — it’s unacceptable.

This facility does drug tests with a swab I was getting supervised urines and I was clean. Then on the same day I took a swab from them and it was dirty. I pleaded and begged them to see that I changed can't you see this? They just ignored me and said I was basically lying. This sent me into a relapse. Being in early recovery you are very fragile and I received no support. When I was clean they said I'm going to long-term rehab.. I said to myself I'm not going to rehab clean 4 months but everyone at Southwest said I was dirty. This was one of the most painful and horrible experiences I ever had.

first impression was not good at all. came here for a consultation and the lady that i had to talk with does not care about people’s emotions. there was a topic that was brought up while she was asking the safety questions and i told her that i do not like talking about it. i was forced to talk about it even though i was VISIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE (literally tearing up, not talking, and becoming fidgety) and wanted the subject to be changed. we sat in silence as she stared at me until i gave in. i am 14 by the way, and no one my age should be forced to be in a situation so uncomfortable like i was.

Terrible place if you want help. One lady named Hannah discharged me because I was actively avoiding her and not going to my groups because of her. She wasn't even my therapist... Just a random art therapist who didn't know what she was doing and had no authority over that decision. They said Hannah left an email the week prior but she did not, and without a ride I had to wait to be picked up. Awful people there, do not go there if you want help. They don't care about anyone and only are there for business.

Not only did I wait over 5 hours jut to be asked the same question 100 times But also you are told you cannot leave rooms. All the rooms have camerise the windows are bolted down, It is made to feel like a jail and I promise you it does. It really sucks when you're just trying to find your child's help. And you end up at a place like this. For your child's own sake do not come.

I’ve been trying with this place for the longest in the last 4-6 months. Today, I had an appointment and they lied to me about the time. My therapist (Jessica) was a complete joke in my opinion. Her Supervisor was no help and they honestly don’t care about their clients. It is all about numbers and money to them and I’m glad I’m moving on. This is THE LAST PLACE ANYONE SHOULD BE SEEKING ANY MENTAL HEALTH FROM! If you want to have a safe peace of mind, don’t even go by this place and find someone in the”Hartford Healthcare” organization. I hope this helps someone in the Windham area. I honestly feel like this place is a complete garbage.

sadly… it is no longer the Willimantic CT Generation that it previously was. More than angry, disappointed... Before... I want to emphasize, I think that many or perhaps all of you agree that... as a patient when you are at the doctor you tend to take advantage of asking all the questions or doubts, fears that you already have. According to one, one is seeing a health professional and for that reason one visits him since he is called “Doctor”. Much more so when the patient is our CHILDREN... What a bad experience I had... I went to a follow-up appointment for my son with his pediatrician, everything was going well while he asked the questions and I answered him but... As a mother, I started asking all kinds of questions regarding my son and my doubts and concerns were not taken well by the doctor. I understand that they have other patients to attend to... but I think it is disrespectful for Doctor Oh. (pediatrician) will appear upset, make masks and rude voice and gestures, etc. while I continued asking my questions, it was disrespectful that he wanted to run out of the room while I was still talking and still had more questions to ask. As I said before, I know they have other patients, but that is no reason for disrespect.

Only if it’s a last resort. They are disorganized, several are unprofessional. They played games with me with my son’s treatment, if you even want to call it that. I never received any updates on his treatment and never received a treatment plan. Also, it was next to impossible to get the adhd meds which was anxiety inducing, and infuriating. There are some good, hardworking and well-meaning folks there but unfortunately, they don’t redeem this organization. I wish there were more options out there, so you may be forced to use this one, but just be wary and be well informed.

Don’t bring anyone to this place. Especially into Eagle house/Residential programs. Kids are always fighting each other, Staff don’t do anything. Staff also Harass clients and abuse them too. The rooms are as small as closets, many times windows aren’t available the smells are foul in the bedrooms. They barely wash bedding and clothing. And many times communication with clinician’s and waiting for pick ups take forever. Try looking up the sunshine case/lawsuit too. Food isn’t properly cooked and prepared, Or given. The only time bedrooms are available are at bedtime, so clients can’t rest. Just don’t bring them here.

Used to be a decent place, now stear clear of this place all they do is waste time and piss people off. Awful place ran by awful people, here is an example of how they operate, they decided to "offer vouchers" during the government shutdown and rather than have a simple signup list they thought it would be fun to make people clammer and fight their way in line every morning in the freezing cold at 6am only to look for any way to DQ anyone as if that is in the interest of health. Their prescribers are about as on par as the character Dr Steven Brule. I am submitting formal complaints to the state medical board. These people only care about themselves and dont give a dam about you or your problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Connecticut?
When comparing providers in Connecticut, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Connecticut?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Connecticut?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Connecticut providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Connecticut providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
