Mom had an appointment scheduled for next week but passed away 3 days ago. Tried calling to cancel, but of course, there was no answer or way to leave a message. Woke up his morning after receiving a text message from the office reminding me of her appointment next week. Thanks. I greatly appreciate the reminder to start my day off first thing.

I waited a month and a half to be able to get an initial appointment with a provider here and called to follow up with the office several times during that time period because their system was having problems sending me the initial paperwork. I know offices sometimes cancel appointments if the paperwork isn't filled out in time and did not want this to happen. After getting the paperwork finally a few days before my scheduled appointment I called the front office to let them know I did receive it and I will fill it out and bring it with me to the appointment. I didn't realize the cost of the initial appointment was so high ($425) and that it was a 90 minute appointment (instead of a 60 min one) but stated that I will make that work. The lady then said if you can't make the appointment will you please call me back by tomorrow morning. I said absolutely but I should be able to make that work and to plan for me to be there please.

We’ve had the worst experience with them so far. First nobody at the front desk knows what insurances they take except for the manager. Nobody EVER answers the phone when you try to call them, even though there are 4 girls sitting at the front desk. We had to drive there to just schedule online appointment, which they rescheduled twice the day of, then they scheduled at 7am “by mistake?!” when the provider’s first appointment is at 8am. They scheduled it for few days later then and never sent the link to it. And never even apologize for what was going on!

I just wanted to rewrite my review after some years of thought and consideration over the years. This place is definition of hell on earth. I was here for 4 days in the summer of 2021 after suffering my worst mental health crisis ever after having a traumatic childhood and was sent hear involuntarily. The whole time I was here, there were always bunch of fights physically and lots of screaming or acting out all day and night in a big windowless room full of dirty and uncomfortable recliner chairs with 50 people. For my entire 4 days here, I was so scared and terrified for my life that I barely ate or slept while being here and was in full of fear the entire time. You only get to talk to loved ones 10-20 minutes per day if you’re lucky and there were no activities or anything while you sit in the big room, you just sit there and do nothing all day with a small soundless outdated TV while being forced to witness the violence around you all day and night. Not to mention, the place one of the dirtiest places I’ve been. When I was sent here, they didn’t even notify my loved ones where I was which is awful on their part. It took me to call my loved ones through that phone to notify them before they reported me missing. After my 72 hour hold was up, the staff was very manipulative and deceitful and tried to manipulate me to stay here when I wanted to be out. They badmouthed my demeanor when I was here to get me to stay longer when I was clearly going through a trauma shock by how scary this place was. Thankfully, their manipulation didn’t work as I was released after 4 days here with the help of loved ones. But this experience has left an impact on me. I’m still traumatized by this place and have had nightmares about this place from time to time years after my experience here. When someone is experiencing a mental health emergency and need immediate help, they don’t need any punishment or further distress and have all their human rights taken away like this place does. It makes their mental health a lot worse like it did with me. This place should really be worked on being shut down. Please do not send yourself or any loved ones here! I would definitely give this place zero stars if that was an option.

I saw a few negative reviews a month ago about Emily Bashah from nurses, and somehow they aren’t here anymore so felt it was time to post. If you’re a nurse in Arizona dealing with the board of nursing - DO NOT GO TO EMILY BASHAH. The nursing board always, and I mean always goes off of the recommendations of the psychologist. Not with Dr. Emily Bashah! They thought her recommendations were so absurd they threw them out, and didn’t listen to a single thing. When a doctor doesn’t find any issues with you as well as not diagnosing you with anything but still states you shouldn’t practice as a nurse that’s a huge issue. Maybe Dr. Bashah should be investigated… hmm. Never thought I’d say I appreciate the Board of Nursing like I do but they protected me from this quack.

Horrible clinic. They take forever to see you. They never attend you at the hour of your appointment but they want you there 10 minutes before? And if you’re there just 2 minutes after the hour of your appointment they won’t see you anymore? Very stupid and doesn’t make sense. They want you there 10 minutes before your appointment and then make you wait around 40 minutes to finally be seen by the doctor, passing the hour of your appointment. Very stupid and doesn’t make sense. And once you’re in the room, the doctor also takes forever to go in. All you can hear is laughter from the staff. The doctors are also always rushing just to get to lunch on time. They don’t check you properly at all. Do not come to this clinic.

So this place must be mainly for court ordered people. The staff was nice enough. I left before seeing anybody just because they had me in a tiny waiting room packed with people. Sorry but my kind of anxiety was not going to tolerate it after a half hour past my appointment. That is exactly how they treat people who have no choice but be there. Court ordered people. I am not court ordered and have a choice. I would say if you have social anxiety avoid this place the moment you walk in the triggers start.

Hurt my back , I came in for a referral to get an MRI , my mri result came back showing 3 herniated disks, they scheduled me for “pain management “ two weeks out, I asked for some pain medication that would last those two week while I waited to see the pain management doctor. They only have nurses on staff, no doctors and the nurses refuse to rite a prescription for pain medication, even thou they have my mri result showing I have a severe pinched nerve , also because they don’t have doctor that works here , they cannot give me a steroid injection in the back to help with the pain, How is it legal to pretend to be a doctors office , but have no actual doctors on staff? They made it seem like I’m wrong for asking for medication , but I’m not wrong , they just don’t have actual doctors on staff

It's absolutely a nightmare to get anyone to answer the phone, call back, or attend a meeting *they* requested to be scheduled. I realize that they are short staffed, but there is absolutely no excuse for such a lack of communication - especially when they expect their patients to be able to clearly communicate. Perhaps they should assign 1 or 2 people to return messages, or have nurses, case managers, and social works help on their downtime.

I would like to share my personal story about this clinic , which is extremely difficult for me, but I feel that it needs to be heard. I am not a person who tries to be negative/judgemental/vindictive, but I have a experienced some very SERIOUS discrimination:/cultural bias as someone who has a DIAGNOSED Autism Spectrum Disorder and physical disabilities, which I strive to not let define me, but recognize that I need help and have to accept they place certain limitations on my lifestyle. I’m told I am in denial and delusional because I don’t agree with their diagnosis. I am told I am manipulative because I filed complaints against them with AHCCCS for rights violations with HIPPAA (Healthcare Information Portability and Accountability Act), for accessing external records without my permission. I reached out to their administrative office (COPAHeadquarters-it’s at 924 Country Club Lane, in Mesa Arizona), I have requested NUMEROUS times (via email, phone, and ad a walk-in, in an completely respectful, appropriate manner) for a meeting with some of the heads of staff, including Billy Ludwick (COPA Health’s Chief Compliance Officer), and Latrice Higman (another head of Administration). Since September of 2025. None of them return my calls, until I actually lodged my complaints with MercyCare and the Maricopa Mental Health Superior Court. I’m told I’m discriminating because I demand a certain level of care that I am entitled to legally. All I ask is that my rights are respected. They still have me listed under my old name, after I took a great deal of time, money and energy to completed my legal name change, and provide the supporting documentation . I feel insulted that they still call me (and have my recurs under) my previous name, as it is an emotional trigger, and I changed it to honor the journey I have undergone spiritually , emotionally and physically to improve myself. The provider at my clinic says I need to continue to be monitored because of my continued health issues, which the court said they have no jurisdiction over or legal authority to place. They are recognized health issues, they are pre-existed my depression and anxiety, but the pain flares up when put under immense stress, which is (to say the least) obvious based on what I am sharing. If you are looking for a clinic, I recommend Alium Health, or Resilent Health (which I currently heard last week has NO openings for SMI designated individuals, people on Court ordered treatment, AND/OR AHCCCS/Mercycare). If anyone is interested in talking about staging a picket outside their headquarters, MercyCare, or AHCCCS, or the Capitol Building, or helping me draft a bill and collect signatures for a petition, message me on Instagram at Pathways to Progress (my non-profit organization that I am starting ), which my Instagram Handle is: Polarity_Princess

I have been through seven case managers. The med doctor decided she didn't want to work with me anymore. After I told her several times that I was having issues my medications I told my case managers. I was having issues with my medications and I begged and pleaded for something to happen and nobody made anything happen. So I weaned myself off of the medications that were making me feel like I was going to hurt myself or somebody and they get mad at me for that. Even though I had reached out numerous times, I have been without any medication to stabilize me since October and it I don't have an appointment again until January. This is just not acceptable. I need something. I need better service from them and I need them to address the needs needs and the concerns that I have.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Arizona?
When comparing providers in Arizona, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Arizona?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Arizona?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Arizona providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Arizona providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
