Had a friend's daughter go in and not only did they send her home twice. After she hurt her ankle. They gave her a disk that was supposed to have her x-rays on it, and once the orthopedic clinic looked at the disk it was blank. So the orthopedic clinic had to take their own x-rays. I do not recommend anyone going here to get treatment.

The counselor Violet halted my disability. She also put a cog in my healing journey. This place is a nightmare. I had a severe allergic reaction and misdiagnosis of bipolar and was put on the lamotrigine and ended up in the hospital. The absolute worst time of my life. I’m glad I sought out other options because this ain’t it and these people have no idea what care is.

1.8 stars feels generous based on our experience. I’m sharing this in hopes that it leads to accountability and improvement. For over a year, we have tried to get this clinic to follow through on what they repeatedly said they would do for our son. It has been extremely difficult to get the psychiatrist to follow up on promised referrals and services. When we attempted to switch providers, the new psychiatrist offered little more than prescribing medication and scheduling a quick follow-up, with no meaningful engagement in his care. We also tried group services, but many were not a good fit for him. When we did find one he was interested in, the clinic could not coordinate transportation properly. There were multiple instances where transportation showed up on the wrong days—days when he didn’t even have group scheduled. It took nearly a full year just to receive a referral for a service they had been recommending all along, with constant excuses for the delay. As his parent and advocate, I have escalated concerns to the clinical director, and I am now considering going higher because very little has changed. Communication is a major issue. Calls are often transferred to busy signals or voicemail, and callbacks are rare. Staff now seem to recognize me and respond with noticeable frustration, simply because I have to repeatedly follow up. There is also a lack of basic follow-through. No one consistently checks in on his treatment progress, and when concerns are raised, they are met with excuses rather than solutions. Even simple requests—like updating his phone number—have been made multiple times and still have not been corrected. If something this basic cannot be handled, it’s hard to have confidence in the more important aspects of care.

I sent up an appointment first week in August and the intake was amazing. MJ was very nice! Was told I would get an appointment for my kiddo in a week or so. Called several times. 6 weeks later I had a in home appointment scheduled for them to come, they never called , they never showed up. It’s October now and still no appointment with them. If you have a crisis forms someone else for your kiddo!

Attempted to rent from the Mesquite Terrace next door and was given the runaround for 6 months, after paying the application fee and turning in the required documents, I was completely blown off and ignored, no communication or attempt to contact me and when I called was repeatedly told that my application was completed and given to the auditors and would get a response in a few days. Never received an answer and after a month of waiting returned to the office to be told that I had not turned in the required documents, complete bs as I had turned in everything not once but twice and had double checked with the staff before leaving. I was told everything was turned in to the auditors on multiple occasions just to find out months later that it had never even been turned in at all. And even with all my contact information, email, phone, etc was never notified that more information was needed. They took my application fee and did absolutely nothing to further the process but tell us lies and lead us on without resolution. I was in a rough situation and came here expecting help and was not given even a lil bit of consideration, it would have been better had I just received a denial but didn't even receive that, very discouraging. For this to be low income housing they need to train their office people to be considerate of people's circumstances and handle things much more professionally with a bit more understanding. Hopefully this is not how they treat everyone, but they surely disappointed my family. ND 6 months later they still had no answer other than to tell us we needed to redo the entire application process, bc too much time had gone by, very upsetting

Can someone please call me? I was transferred to your "care" last week. My old clinic told me that I should've heard from you all within 24 hours. It's been a week. I was discharged from one clinic to you guys and have been getting the run around. I Was told this morning to call back later. I did. The girl who I spoke with put me on "hold" then transferred me. Now when I call back no one answer AND your voicemail was full. Not a good first impression.

They are definitely committed to acting like they care about people. Unfortunately for them it's all about Nice words over actions. They are less interested in helping patients and more interested in obscure ridiculous over-enforced policies. On top of that, if you look at the ratings they have, they are clearly not interested in improving.

I was sent here at age 16 from another treatment facility. My experience wasn't too bad at all. They supplied me with the necessary items upon my arrival and a color coded uniform so others understood I was new. Different colors came with different treatment. I made some decent friends and unfortunately lost touch with them. Honestly, this place isn't for kids who just simply have bad attitudes, this place is for kids who don't know when to stop acting out and only get worse over time. I've met some girls here who had made scarier choices than me. From my experience the staff only confronted or restrained those who continued giving them attitude or tried to fight them or other girls. I personally wouldn't consider it torture, but things could have drastically changed since I've been there. They had a good amount of activities to keep every one busy and allowed the girls to make a small amount of money by working in the kitchen or other small duties. The group homes they have weren't bad at all either unless, again, you acted out massively. This place taught me that life is what you make of it and that actions will have consequences. Not just for you, but others around you as well.

Today was the first time I had a provider's office tell me there is 15 minute appointment available today only to tell me that my son needs a 30 minute appointment & cant be seen for over a month. To an office he's been to already. But because his previous providers have since left (revolving door providers here, nothing new) he can't be seen since a new provider needs that 15 extra minutes to type up an rx that he needs daily and is now out of. There's no counseling actually provided. Just rushed appointments of them telling you what rx they think your child should be on. Be prepared for unprofessional attitudes and misguided opinions if you, the parent, dare have one on what you think is best for your own child - even out of experience. Kristy Groupe, was a BULLY when it came to us refusing a certain rx for my son. We didn't want this rx based on previous experience with side effects. Out of all the frustrations I've experienced as a parent of someone with a mental health disability, none are so frustrating as the lack of empathy & misinformed "professionals" that have handled my sons "care".

I have been with this facility linger than I should have. They are always changing providers, they have missed place my sons paperwork and don't get me started on the front desk. The phone just rings. One time just had to test it out. So I called waited outside watching as no one answered the phone because they were too busy chatting with each other. When I stepped in stood at the windows till no ounce of interest to help. Enough is enough I am moving on. My son deserves better than this.

I just got a call from this place using my legal name, saying I had an appt tomorrow (that I never made), the person on the phone was not explaining herself, wouldn’t give me much information, and when I called back to get any further information, she just said she had the wrong person and hung up on me. I immediately got a call back where she said wrong phone number and hung up on me again. What is happening? Why did they have my name and number? Is this a scam?

This is the most horrible experience I've ever had with spectrum and I used to be with them years ago and ever since they got rid of their Willow Creek location in Prescott. It's been crap. I've had two virtual appointments with two men and they have completely ignored me. Laughed at me. Wouldn't let me talk. Wouldn't let me tell them what my problem was and the last one ended up hanging up on me. Nothing gets done. They're incompetent there. When you leave a message nobody gets back to you. When you leave a email nobody gets back to you. Nobody gets back to you and you have to see the doctors or nurse practitioners virtually because they're only in offices one day a week. It's horrible. I feel like the doctor is out in Prescott and Prescott Valley are going to end up killing me because they don't know what they're doing up here so everyone be careful and dignity is the worst too. Ever since they took over up here it's been crap! If you notice the five stars are from 6 years ago. Not from now

My daughter attends Counseling here and I am unable to obtain her records, including dates seen, etc. I have equal rights to these records, however I will need an entire Family Court Trial to force Helping Associates to comply with my Court order. My daughter does like her Counselor, but unfortunately the Counseling is not helping our relationship. I find the staff to be both combative and unhelpful. This is not helping my family.

I should have read the reviews. This place is gross, rude employees and they want to drug test you even just to speak to a psychiatrist. I did it, but I am not a drug seeker, and the doctor was nice but ZERO help. Front desk is rude .. waste of 100 copay. 0/10 do not recommend. Also feels like a probation officer or something. Really one of the worst experiences. Then they gaslit me to make me think it was normal. when I told my husband, he was FURIOUS. These people are the absolute worst.

“ we can help put you in jail! “is what your sign should say. they definitely are not about helping people, but about their bottom line instead of trying to treat people and their mental health being one to force you like they are jailers to sign up for everything they Have to “ offer” And squeeze your insurance for as much as they can while turning you into a mindless spineless robot if you were on probation, avoid it all costs go to any other treatment center available or offered by the courts. they may by 10 times harder for my granddaughter. bugging her schedule down so much so that she had to quit her job going access and snap benefits just to attend classes recommended my new she never even seen a psychiatrist the whole time she was there or an actual licensed doctor. They treated people who are on probation different than those who are not because they know they can get away with it. She recorded in class them literally setting different rules for the people who are on probation. They said if you’re on probation this and you’re on probation that Seems to me the same rules should apply for everybody

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Arizona?
When comparing providers in Arizona, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Arizona?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Arizona?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Arizona providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Arizona providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
