Couldn’t save my dad🥛
Zero if I could, was told on two separate occasions they would set up a PT appointment for my leg. 7 months later...no appointment. Typical VA

So unethical. There were some staff on the floor that genuinely cared about the clients however the environment as a whole is awful. Staff would put clients on “reflections” barring them from speaking for weeks on end as a punishment, as if isolation was ever beneficial for anyone going through mental health struggles. I was groomed by my therapist there because they refuse to do thorough checks of staff. I had multiple health issues while there and was continuously blown off until it hit a point where I needed surgery. I beg any parents to rethink putting your child through this traumatic experience.

Dr. Carpenter is an exceptional therapist who truly listens and understands my needs. From our first session, I felt comfortable and supported. His approach is both compassionate and practical, offering valuable tools and insights that have helped me make real progress. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled, empathetic professional to guide them through life's challenges.
I transferred from the stellar juneau clinic after some awful life changes and the move was quick as my husband and I were switching jobs, I have been a phase 27 for almost 4 years when I transferred. Juneau did not send my complete records but they did send enough that this clinic had knowledge I was a model patient and had my 27 for quite some time. I have been a methadone patient for 11 years and MAT saved my life. When I entered treatment I was serious about being sober. It took so much work to get to that phase and I am very proud to say that I have ALWAYS been told at every clinic I have been to that I am one of their best patients and they wish all their patients were as dedicated to recovery as I am. The day I came in for intake I met with a lady that was supposed to be my counselor and she was nice enough but when she took my history she got it all wrong and even put down that I was suicidal!!! I was the farthest thing from it. There was a question about if you have ever been suicidal and I said yes when I was using drugs I was suicidal! Many of us are or reach that point when we are at our worst but that was almost a decade ago! I was immediately told I would not be getting my 27 bottles any longer and was given no real reason until weeks later when I continued to question why or how I could remedy that situation because I was working and having to go into work late every other week was becoming an issue and aside from that I had done nothing wrong but I kept getting told that once ALL my records came then maybe I could get them back. I did all I could I to help obtain my missing records but they did have enough records that showed I was a phase 27 and that ALL my drug screens were ALWAYS clean. When I finally was able to sit down and talk to a lady with longer blonde hair because I wanted to understand exactly what they wanted for me to get back on track she told me that my sudden decision to move from Juneau to anchorage and take another job while I had three children shows instability!! I was floored, I had two special needs children and Juneau had very little medical care and while the move and job change was quick because the company needed us to start quickly the fact that they said that showed instability. I felt incredibly judged and explained very respectfully that I was sorry they felt that way but I still didn’t feel that was a legitimate reason to treat me the way that they were treating me. The doctor I saw was a lady and she was extremely cold, with zero bedside manner and who knows maybe she was burnt out by all the people who abuse the MAT system but regardless I feel like each patient should be treated as a individual and that their track record in treatment should reflect on them. Every clinic I have been to before that one has showed me compassion support and treated me as my own person and I had some level of trust with them because of my track record. This place truly gave me ptsd, I tried so hard to jump through every single hoop they wanted and even when I did that I was still treated like crap. I began to become a nervous wreck and truly for the very first time since I was in treatment for all these years I felt the least stable at this clinic, I honestly have not have cravings in YEARS but while at this clinic they made it so difficult that there were several times I broke down in tears and thought to myself it would be easier just to go and get drugs then to keep trying with this place. The final straw was being called and told that I had a diluted drug screen which I had no clue what that even was but they said I had to come for a bottle check and new drug screen which I did but they were going to take me down from two weeks to one week or maybe even dose me daily. I came in passed the bottle check and my drug screen and told them I was transferring and they let me keep my two weeks to transfer with but when I told the lady I truly had done nothing to my “diluted” drug screen she treated me as if I most certainly had tried to cheat it.. don’t go here!!!
I have been a patient for bout 2 years now. I'm so grateful for being matched to the right person for my mental health needs. Nicole is awesome. She's very professional yet friendly & HUMAN. She doesn't make me feel like a piece of paper like some previous therapists & psychiatrists I've seen on base. Nicole’s care has made an immense difference in my quality of life & motivation to continue on my healing journey. Please keep up the Amazing work you guys, you’re making a huge difference in your community 🙏🏻
I absolutely love going to Denaina! The front desk staff are top notch! They are very kind and see to the patients needs right away! They make me coffee and bring it to me! Dr. Nate is amazing! I appreciate him so much! I used to go to PT and OT there. Now I only go for PT.
Friend of mine stayed here more than a decade ago and she said they kept her here involuntary for title 47. They threatened to keep her there if they didn't take their "antidepressants". She became near catatonic and having her personality nearly destroyed. She has no memory after taking whatever they gave her. She was interned in November and she came to in February after her family carefully weened her of those "antidepressants". Her family says she was creepy like an actual mental asylum patient. When she came to she thought she was in a dream, because she was home. She tried to wake herself up, and her family woke up knew she was finally back to how she was before being drugged to near catatonic.
My son stayed there a few years ago and it was the worst experience of his life. He felt unsafe there the whole time he was there. He was not released from prison to go there. He went voluntarily thinking it would help him overcome his drug addiction. I will not share the horrible experiences he had there because some of them are downright disgusting and were allowed to happen. I will say, if you or a loved one is serious about breaking a drug addiction, do NOT go there!
Contact info? Office phone number?
The front desk ladies are very friendly … to your face. When I came in for the first time they had someone on the phone wanting to do to detox they put them on hold and then proceed to just talk shit about him, after keeping him on hold for 5 mins they pick up the phone tell him no beds open and to try again next week… there were at least 7 open beds that day. And oh don’t miss any appointments cause they have a 3 strike rule but it’s more like a 2 strike rule and they don’t tell you that either kinda crazy they work with drug users but are so ready to kick them out the door for being inconsistent, I missed one assessment due to never being told when it was scheduled and missed a follow up do to a medical emergency, went in today to reschedule and they told me I’m shit outa luck and I’m not allowed to go there anymore cause I’m not serious and the only way I’m allowed to prove I’m serious is to go through a week of inpatient before I can get a assessment or anymore help from them. I’m pretty sure the assessment is to ASSESS what level of treatment is needed. My overall experience with serenity has been ok until I missed a appointment. If your struggling with a addiction and are looking for help PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN SAKE just go to the tribe I’ve heard not so good things on the medical side but the assessment side is great get your assessment done there and if your gonna do outpatient I’d recommend ideal options after you get your assessment at the tribe
I'm not really sure what they are supposed to do but they do nothing to help someone who is obviously reaching out for help. All they can offer is support groups and phone numbers. No help. Just a cold "we can't help you" If your low income and mentally I'll the only help that seems to be here in anchorage is brother Francis or anchorage jail.
I was a resident at this facility for over a year

Referred here by the VA, mental health treatment. First psychiatrist took no time to hear me out and listen to what my symptoms are/were. My first appointment they ordered labs, I told them I'm not doing labs if the VA isn't going to cover it. They told me the VA would and sent me a $400 bill that the VA has no idea about , somehow lost the electronic photocopy of my VA medical card, and apparently they don't know how to read a calendar. Scheduled me one day, canceled when I got there due to "server issues" instead of having me wait until at least the end of my appointment time to see if the servers would come back online, rescheduled me again the next week showed up, checked in, sat for 20 minutes without realizing for them to tell me my appointment wasn't for another two weeks when I had a written reminder card by the admin desk and the reminder in my phone. The only redeeming quality has been my current psychiatrist, Laura. She listens to what I have to say and works with me on what the best course of action and med management would be. Go elsewhere for mental health! The whole triple reschedule happened after I pushed an appointment up because I was needing help. The lack of care of organization put me in hot water with work because of performance which could have been avoided if they took the time to care and actually be organized.
I adore my counselor and my children's counselor. However, I have dubbed the front office staff "The Gatekeepers." It is almost impossible for me to message the counselors without The Gatekeepers giving me push back. The reason we are seeing counselors can be very triggering to me and I cry most times when I have to explain to The Gatekeepers why I want them to send a message on my behalf. Once they wouldn't send a message to my counselor until I did cry.
Your team house looking through meant to be known from, break stuff "what my brain doesn't make" some of them can't handle what theirs make go in room broken things get a lead point evident supported I left to be given. Got more Intel not asking what idea your cover background doesn't hope it's their speech wrong, wont be their life sacrificed over notice incorrect. I went to an activity he didn't know goes to me ask, not from his people to know I did participate
