Hey, I’m Emma Miller. I just want to take the time to appreciate the time I had here. Despite what people are saying I had the best therapist and loved every staff there (except for Miss Gwen). Miss Hillary would be the best therapist for people with trauma. Please go here if you need someone or some help and you’re a child between 5-17!

Laura Luke provided a horrible experience. My first appointment was supposed to last 60-90 minutes, 20 minutes in I thanked her for her time and left. She wasn’t understanding anything I was saying about why I came in, just staring with a blank face. When I finally asked what was confusing and how I could better explain myself, she told me it didn’t seem I wanted counseling. It was clear she wasn’t going to be of help for my very common issues that I wanted to work through without any attempt to understand further. Sadly she’s the only one in the office who has room for new patients, I see why.

Would give 0 if that was an option. My mom is there and they are of zero help to her. She can't drink the water because it's gross city water and is making her sick. She's in pain. Can't sleep. Lost 8 lbs since last week. They're barely coaching or counseling her. She's not allowed to have a ginger ale In the DINING ROOM, made her throw it out. She has a lot of physical pain and they couldn't care less. She can't heal mentally in this place. I'd love nothing more than to have her transferred. You guys SUCK

Complete joke of a system. These workers themselves have mental healths issues being extremely jaded, not taking mental health seriously and embezzling funds from the Loudon County Government. You’re better off dealing with your mental health issues yourself than talking to these extremely bad people. They will only make your issues worse.

I was discharged from the service I needed most. Was told I had to qualify for two services in order to be a patient. Was told just as quickly I could go to the Clubhouse program. Have been there. It was not a fit for me. Regardless of my needs I was summarily discharged. The organization is run more like a business than a source of mental health care.

This can't be real. I know they have the authority to prescribe drugs, (they love to do that) but as far as mental health and getting help...... not a chance. I wouldn't let these people work with a dog, much less trust them with a human in distress. When you hear people say they avoid asking for help for mental health issues because of how inhumane the treatment is..... this is where that comes from

I would give them a zero if had one.the lady at the front office is rude and needs to be replaced. I was told for a out of pocket visit just to refill my 8 medications because my other doctor left would be $80 dollars and when i went in for my appointment it jumped up to $130. I needed my medications so I had to pay it. The doctor only sent in prescriptions for 4 of my medications. When I called to fine out why the lady at the front desk was rude again and got a smart mouth. Took me about a week to just get the 4 prescriptions doctor called in because they said the doctor called them in and the pharmacy said they didn't receive them. Guess the doctor didn't think I needed the other 4 medications I been taking for year..also about 2 weeks after my appointment I got a statement from my old insurance company that I dropped about 3 months before my appointment why they wouldn't pay anything on my doctor visit. I guess $130 easy enough for my visit..safe to say I won't be going back to them

Region ten is trash overall. They have some resources but they don’t know how to deal with difficult people, such as myself, which is supposed to be their purpose really isn’t it, and they don’t work to help anyone very quickly at all. I worked with Region Ten in Charlottesville, Va some time around 2012 and I recall it being just as big of a pita.. I need help with mental disabilities rn and the welfare ofmy children is currently dependent upon winning Disability case. I did intake appointments with case management and a couple therapy sessions expressing what I am needing help with but they seem deaf and or slower than my disabled self. I got frustrated and loud with them a couple times and they began treating me coldly, it’s fine, I get it, so I opted out of therapy and asked for the psychiatrist right away. Guess what? They just love me there and want to help me so much so my first psychiatrist appointment was scheduled for 3 months out… 😒 they won’t be seeing me then. Farewell dearest Region Ten. Bless your heart or something. 🎩

This is one of the worst establishments. I was admitted due to a manic episode that was induced by the hospital. I had a kidney infection and two kidney stones that they did nothing about. They had a box of 10 crayons and nothing else for patients to do. The groups were a joke and they like to torture the patients by making their stay awful. People just tried to stay doped up and wouldn’t leave their room. There were only three nurses that actually gave a damn. They wouldn’t let me leave and kept lying to my support system so I was unable to go to residential recovery where I was treated like a human being.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Virginia?
When comparing providers in Virginia, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Virginia?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Virginia?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Virginia providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Virginia providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
