Region Ten - Nelson Counseling Center

Region Ten’s Nelson Counseling Center in Lovingston, Virginia is a community-based provider offering outpatient services, intensive outpatient program, residential treatment, and intensive community treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing mental health, substance use, and developmental or intellectual disabilities. Services include case management, crisis services, crisis counseling, assessment, stabilization, outpatient therapy, medication management, psychiatric evaluation, psychiatric consultation, telepsychiatry, group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, parenting support, psycho-education, care coordination, peer support, and prevention services. Treatment at Region Ten Nelson Counseling Center utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), motivational interviewing, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), art therapy, play therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive enhancement therapy, wellness recovery action plan (WRAP), and AcuDetox within a trauma-informed, evidence-based, and recovery-oriented treatment model.
