Do not take up employment as a residential worker at this place if you’re offered. 12hr shifts, your coworkers are always late and you can’t leave til they arrive. No actual vacation so their policy is, even if you have the time you have to find your own coverage which is a joke due to how they run on bare minimum staff. All for about 15-16 an hour. Sheetz pays more than this, lol.

Well my child is there as of right now, I spoke with the doctor one time after he was admitted and I have yet to hear anything back from anyone since then. I haven't had a call about any progress, or any concerns from them they haven't called to tell me anything that they recommend anything that they're feeling that is going on with him. He went in due to being depressed and also manipulative behaviors with his depression, and I have gotten nothing back from these people. So when I called to question this, I was told that I wouldn't be contacted until they were getting ready to release him, and when I came to pick him up, I wouldn't see the doctor, I would see a case manager. So my question to them was how do I know what this doctor is thinking, what is going on, this is such a very unprofessional place. If my child needs help again, he will most definitely not come back to this place. When he got there he told me how dirty the place was and smelled terrible. They have done nothing but hold him in a stable like a horse.

So I had extremely high hopes for this place. Honestly they deserve zero stars. So when I first started there everything was good but then something strange happened. So I was scheduled for a virtual appointment with my therapist, and never received the link for the zoom call. I called to try and set up another appointment and left a voicemail only to never be called back over 2 months later. Not to mention that I went through absolute hell trying to get my medication filled and went through terrible withdrawals and almost admitted myself to the hospital because my mental health was so awful. I keep trying to call and nobody ever answers the phone. I absolutely do not recommend this place. They're awful and play with your mental health like it's a game

My daughter used Hope Services twice last year…TWICE.We found these people through my Tricare. I’m retired Navy. Anyway, we ended up not liking the service, Ms. Nicole was providing. This was last July (2 sessions only) Why Hope Services keep billing me 79.00 a month and haven’t stopped since August 2025. I reported them to Tricare and tried to call them but nobody picks up. I plan on taking them to court unless they refund my money. Very unprofessional and terrible service!!! Stay away from this place!

Do not come here if you are severely depressed. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this location if you’re thinking of ending things or in poor mental health. The therapist I saw really liked to hear herself talk & also talked 90% of the time during our sessions. Outside of intake she did not ask me about why I was seeking therapy or what was the main reason I was there. Majority of our sessions she asked me how was my week and tried to offer advice about my daily life when that was not the reason I looked for help for my mental health in the first place. I mentioned this to her during one session and she assured me this would change during our next session, however the last session I had with her was her asking how my week was and trying to offer advice about it. Again. While she was a nice person, I would suggest looking for help for your mental help elsewhere.

Therapist did not collaborate on whether or not or how to end our care, pushed my boundaries, and ignored my preferences. I feel they were not respectful, sensitive, or professional during the process (blamed me and said hurtful things). It significantly worsened my condition after gains. Otherwise a great organization

Starting to force everyone to come into the office wasting gas to do a Google Meet on the computers in the office when it can (and was until recently) easily be accomplished remotely. It's a waste of time, money, gas and unnecessary wear and tear on a vehicle. Whatever reasoning the administrators have can't exceed the wastefulness of it I'm sure. The VA doesn't make anyone come in, nor does Meridian or anyone else I can think of, if it can reasonably be accomplished online.

After waiting nearly a month for an appointment scheduled for March 3, 2026 at 1:00 pm, I was told the morning of my appointment that Foothills Consulting Associates was "not accepting new patients at this location." Seriously? Then why the hell did staff call me multiple times to confirm I would be attending, why did I get multiple email verification links, and why did I download and complete all their new-patient paperwork? I wasn't even offered the option to schedule with one of Foothills Consulting Associates' other locations. I got nothing—no explanation, no apology, no alternative, just a bullshit line about "not accepting new patients at this location." That's it! If they're really not accepting new patients, then how are there new patients out there leaving reviews? It's laughable. This is beyond unprofessional—it's disrespectful and a total waste of my time. After reading several reviews of patients experiencing the same treatment, I've contacted the appropriate state medical board, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, and federal agencies that oversee medical facilities and patient care standards to report this kind of conduct. Save yourself the headache and find a provider that actually respects their patients! The 3-star rating of Foothills Consulting Associates rings true based on actual patient interactions with staff and doctors. I've read nearly all the reviews and the owner's replies to other reviewers, and those replies are embarrassingly defensive. Instead of actually addressing the complaint, the owner hides behind generic policy language and then throws out accusations to make the reviewer look dishonest. That is not a professional response—it's damage control. You want people to believe this is about "ethical care," but your own replies show the real priority is silencing criticism and protecting your image. When a practice starts attacking the reviewer instead of answering the actual issue, it tells everyone exactly how seriously patient concerns are taken there. Patients are not stupid, and this kind of reply does nothing but make your office look more dismissive, more arrogant, and less trustworthy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in North Carolina?
When comparing providers in North Carolina, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in North Carolina?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in North Carolina?
Yes. Mental Health US includes North Carolina providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all North Carolina providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
