Absolutely not the only thing this hospital has going for It is a few good BHS some really good per diem occupational therapist and BECKYYYY girl you’re amazing give this women a raise , but they told me when I got there that I was going to a detox center. I got there and it was a behavioral health hospital with “dual diagnosis “ 45 minutes Monday through Friday. Don’t want them to miss lead you like they did me. Ive been dealing with my mental health and my addiction for the last good decade. Has Really showed me that I just don’t feel safe and comfortable asking for help the next time I go to need it. This hospital scared me and I’m honestly think it should be shut down. Do better, do better for the people that go there do better for those with mental health. Tell the doctor that is so stuck in his old ways behavioral health has changed in the last 20 years let alone the last three do better peoples lives depend on these kind of places it’s hard enough to even ask for help … All I can say is do better

Community partners is a joke. I’ve been seeing them for a few months for mental health services. They hooked me up with Virginia Roper who is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Before seeing Community Partners, I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at Portsmouth Hospital. Portsmouth Hospital reached out to Community Partners on my behalf as well as a few other places. Community Partners was quick to get me in there and hook me up with Dr. Roper. I’ve been seeing Dr. Roper for a few months and she does not believe I have anything wrong with me other than a little bit of anxiety. She claims I’m not Schizophrenic. My last visit will be my final dealings with Community Partners. Dr. Roper is condescending, narcissistic, and rude. She only sees you for 5-10 minutes and does nothing to benefit her patients. I was taking a medication called Zyprexa which was doing me wonders. I know it makes me gain weight. Dr. Roper completely took me off it and put me back on a medication that was doing me more harm than good. My symptoms of Schizophrenia have gotten much worse. She also is pushing me to see a therapist through Community Partners because she believes that when I get angry I lash out. That is not the case. By the time I got done seeing her after my last visit I was near tears. During my last visit I was already having an episode to begin with so I was hoping she would see that. No, she didn’t, the whole time she basically called me a fat antisocial loser with no friends and anger issues. Also gave me hell for not being able to keep an appointment with her therapist in which the therapist was supposed to call me and she didn’t. I don’t drive and my transportation is very limited. This past week has been the worst I’ve felt since before I went to the Portsmouth Hospital. To add salt to the wound I tried calling Community to tell them I’m done using their services, someone rudely picked up the phone and said “Goodbye” then slammed down the phone. I will not be returning to community partners. Dr. Roper does not work with her patients for their benefit. She does not care. That’s evident.

I had a deeply disappointing experience at the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester's new Two Wall Street location. If you're considering this facility, I strongly recommend reviewing feedback from their previous locations, as my experience was nothing short of unacceptable.

Disappointing experience for a family member (NOT me). He went to Joanne for counseling. She demanded cash payments. Plus $450 cash evaluation even though he has insurance. Only gives a generic receipt with no info. When asked to submit claims, she told him to submit himself which only got denied because receipts are generic with no information. Insurance finally contacted Joanne and explained she had to submit claims. She submitted some, not all. Insurance processed claims and informed us and Joanne that she was overcharging sessions by $15 per session and over $300 overcharging on evaluation. Insurance also stated she is not allowed to make him pay the discount since she is IN-Network. Therefore she owes him $493.15 for overcharging. When questioned, her response was my rates are my rates. Ummm, no that is why she is in network, there are agreed rates. She has been informed to refund him the overcharged amounts by the insurance company, still not done. Plus she collected from the insurance and my husband on a couple claims ( illegal!!) so now owes $648.78. You stole $170.42 by collecting from my husand AND the insurance company that paid you on 8/4/23. He was going to eat the overage because he really liked her as a person but the very next counseling session she told him, rates are going up another $20, reason doesnt matter. So instead of overcharging $15/session, it will now be $35. It's a shame she takes advantage of those already in a vulnerable position . He was really hoping for a positive outcome with her, he did like her personality but not that she was overcharging. Her reply, it never happened is a joke. There are texts, receipts and emails to prove. Insurance company emails stating they left her messages that this is “Not allowed” . What a shame! Joanne, You don’t know me but you scammed my family member. Shameful, you don’t care about people. 1.8 stars review proves all that people need to know. All but 1 review is bad.

In typical frisbie hospital fashion, they don't offer outpatient services anymore. After leaving two messages I went in to ask and the first question that I was asked is what kind of insurance does the person have. At least there patient comes second mentality hasn't changed.

Lots of unreturned phone calls. Sometimes impossible to get prescriptions refilled in this place. You have absolutely no way of contacting your med provider directly and their department doesn’t confirm that they have or haven’t filled a prescription. If you call to check on a refill, they tell you to keep checking with your pharmacy because their office doesn’t return phone calls and they don’t know if the prescription was written or not. That’s their policy. Most of the case managers are roughly seventeen years old and right out of school so turnover is very high. Also they usually know very little about their jobs. If it’s your first time filling out a housing application or dealing with social security don’t worry. It’s probably their first time as well so they know as much as you do. Expect every process here to drag on for months without resolution. Person A says Person B didn’t do their job. Person B says they are waiting for Person A to provide paperwork and ten months later you are no closer to a solution or a deadline passes and you have to start the process over. If you need something done and your health or housing rely on it, you better be prepared to get it done on your own. GNMH will not be of any assistance. I came to this place after a horrible life event and I was glad there was someone to help but looking back I wish it was anyone else. This place is awful.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in New Hampshire?
When comparing providers in New Hampshire, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in New Hampshire?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in New Hampshire?
Yes. Mental Health US includes New Hampshire providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all New Hampshire providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
