Horrible place. My loved one was misdiagnosed and provided medicine that wasn't working. They were struggling and when I called on their behalf, the person answering the phone was very curt with me and told me that the patient needed to call.

If I could give 0 stars I would. My problem with this place is my son who's 8 years was driving a atv with a adult on the back who saved my child from getting really hurt ( son was not wearing a helmet) they insisted to tell me they are going to call dcyf because my son got hurt he only had road rash and a few cuts on his arms from it. There was no need for a hospital for this.

My experience with this organization was very positive and seamless. My counselor/session leader, Carol, was very accommodating, and practiced very clear and friendly communication, and treated her clients with tolerance and compassion, going above and beyond to provide each person with resources and information specific to their needs, and i was even able to learn a thing or two. Anyone in the position to have to be taking these classes isn’t going to be happy to have to do so, I can assure you from personal experiences, that there are other organizations in New Hampshire that are for more difficult to deal with.

I went to goodwin for almost 8 years, I was living in New Hampshire at the time. Now I have relocated to South Carolina weather is nice it's only snowed once and New Hampshire keeps getting dumped on. From a medical standpoint I wish I didn't move. Having a hard time finding a job and always had insurance in New Hampshire. No insurance down here... anyways if people were more patient and realize they don't always have enough help they would realize this is a great place. Call them on your day off! It sounds stupid and crazy but I would 100% be dead if it wasn't for Goodwin Community Health! Goodwin Community Health saved my life!

When I needed help recovering from assault no one at reception would pick up the phone 📞 also after a seizure I was told come back in a week and we might give the schedule. Lazy staff more focused on long term of suffering and causing people with mental illness to suffer for payee rights and more focused getting addicts to rehab than to help mentally abused and pre existing conditions.

If I could rate the Salem, NH CLM office I'd rather give it 0 stars... My fiance went here for about 5 years and had the worst experience possible. They treated him like a criminal when he has no criminal background and they would discipline him severely every time he had a manic episode (he is tbi and bipolar) and left them a concerned voicemail telling them why his feelings were happening and what was going on. Then they tried to call Qi on him which is their complaints line and get him in trouble for needing help and reaching out. The collaborative care team kept him in their team when everybody else was telling them he doesn't need this kind of help, to give him other caseworkers instead of collaborative care. They didn't want to give him help and they didn't want to give him up either. The people in the Salem office are evil and just want your money they don't want you to give you help. They would rather cause you more stress and more hardships than help. (Derry office is the better office). I would recommend anybody going to CLM to seek the Derry office instead of Salem you will have a much healthier and happier time receiving help. And there will be no strings attached in Derry and no trouble for sharing your feelings or having a manic episode and needing help.

Ok. So far starting with this place it’s been a little bit of a nightmare due to all the appointment dates and that their answering service is messed up. Never correct.

Would not recommend coming here. I was a patient with adhd and would as all people with actual adhd had trouble with appointments sometimes I'd be working and lose track of time or something and miss an appointment. But I would strongly suggest not using this place as what they did to me was completely unethical. I had a medical emergency on a day I had an appointment and I called to let them know and offered to bring over paperwork to show that I was at a hospital during the appointments time they said it was okay and rescheduled me over the phone for a month later. The problem was that they stopped my medication refill and canceled my appointment and never even told me then said I can't come back. No call nothing they said they mailed something... so basically they will dismiss if you miss an appointment and have a medical emergency... and a very well known fact of adhd is also trouble with time and keeping appointments. So basically they will just kick you out for your medical condition. Nice job guys.

God Damn

Jackie is a senior counselor in Madison unit and she was absolutely the best. I was on the tail end of the flu and got sick because of my anxiety and she was there and helped me same with the nurses and we played card games and talked A LOT she really needs her own mental health days and genuinely loved my stay because of her. Bought pizza for the unit and everything. The nurses were great one bought ice cream and the other understand my anxiety and why I was so sick and Megan with my meds she knew what I needed and how I could take them. Emma(Emanuel) was genuinely the funniest and sweetest friend there (another counselor) we played card games and btw I taught them all king corners. But he was super awesome super nice. When it was night he closed my door so it was just a crack because the loud noises of walking and the lights in the hallways. He made sure it was a safe environment for me. Now onto the actual mental health stuff I had a good time with the groups mainly anxiety made it bad but they were definitely fun we did a lot of art I painted my nails and the staff in the activities room let me play my type of music heavy metal. So definitely great. I met some awesome people won't say any last names but Connor and Ava and adysan made my stay so much better because they had similar stuff going on and I could really connect with them. I hope Jackie sees this cus y'all did really help me out cus I needed this escape. Thank you so much.

One star is being very generous. This place is a joke. First time I brought my mom in for an exray appt and sat in the waiting room for over an hr, you guessed it, they forgot about us. I asked when she would be seen and a nurse came right out to get us and acted like we were inconveniencing her. Really?!!! It was a scheduled appt. Second time my son went in to the emergency room at 3am with possible strep throat. There was only one other person in the waiting room and he sat for over an hr. The Dr came out and said, (with an attitude) it's going to be a while. There was no one there!! Save yourself the time and go elsewhere!! This place needs to shut down. They're going to kill someone one day.

Not the demographic for people who own a house, a car, aren't alcoholics, aren't drug users. People who just need talk therapy look elsewhere. Also: If you want to get in, you need to pay (or have your insurance pay) to simply walk in the door and do an approximate 1/2 hour questionnaire. Wait. Then do another half hour with someone who's not even a therapist who'll go over everything you wrote down as if you don't know how to write or what you wrote. Then you're told you have to come back the next week at a time NOT of your choosing, as if you don't have a job, and do a second "intake" appointment, If you need to move this appointment, you are told ... you must START ALL OVER AGAIN. Like a child. You must pay the fee again. You must fill out the entire questionnaire again (what? They didnt' photocopy it or keep it from last week? What sort of sick game are they trying to play on people who need psychiatric or therapeutic help?) and you must do this over and over and over again until you do this exactly twice in a row to their satisfaction and only *then* will they let you go to Intake #3, where they figure out what therapist they want to assign you to.

I have been attending therapy at this location for a decade, and the only good people I've worked with are the therapists I have been assigned to over the years. I've had a few people I don't connect with, but the worst part about dealing with this place is the billing staff. I could call 3-4 times and leave VMs, but no one has ever replied. I have had to contact the operator and have them transfer me to insurance billing to be able to get ahold of someone. When I got ahold of someone in the billing office, they were unprofessional and rude. They do not know how to speak to clients, and that's probably why they pressure your providers to mention past due balances to you during your sessions by threatening to discontinue care. This type of behavior has been going on well before COVID-19, and it's no excuse now. If they want to disrupt your mental health care by pressuring therapists to mention balances after clients discuss some of the most gut-wrenching feelings and situations they're struggling with, then the billing office should grow a pair and pick up their phones to outreach to clients themselves. In a big practice like this, instead of a freelancing therapist's office, it's disrespectful and a complete breach of trust/security with your providers.

Don't get me wrong... My husband's counselor Jamison Tooley is great. He listens, asks questions and is great at connecting the pieces. Psychiatric Nurse Alicia Pride is less than impressive. Gaslights your concerns on your meds not working as they should and blames things like covid side effects when they were making him get irritable and violent before he even caught covid. Telling him he shouldn't stop taking a med even though they were doing nothing but causing him constant diarrhea where he was being sent home from work for accidents he was having in his clothing, meds causing rashes, him almost unable to urinate normally and having to force himself to sit to for urine out. Constant stomach upset amongst other issues. Them then asking why would he stop taking the med if it was working. Are you kidding me?? He can't work if he is not sure when he will have a random accident in his pants.

Can I give it zero stars? I've been going here for over a year and I'd be absolutely done with this place if it wasn't for the fact that it's the only place my insurance was accepted. I've been asking for a new therapist for over 7 months now. They aren't providing me with the proper therapy I need. Just talking about what's on my mind today isn't beneficial for me and they know that. I've ask my psychiatrist a dozen times about why I'm constantly exhausted and my cognative deficits. And I never get ANYWHERE. I'm to the point where I can barley handle daily tasks due to their incompetence

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in New Hampshire?
When comparing providers in New Hampshire, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in New Hampshire?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in New Hampshire?
Yes. Mental Health US includes New Hampshire providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all New Hampshire providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
