I love it here. If you are serious about yourself and your recovery then this is the place for you. Great staff, classes are good . They look past the addition and work also on the addictive behavior of why we use substances.

I had never been to therapy before and was a bit unsure on what to expect. My whole process at Ellie was very smooth and exceeded my expectations. From my initial assessment pairing me with a therapist, to my first meeting with them, to my sessions, everything was a great experience. My therapist made me feel comfortable, was open to my questions, and made my process with Ellie enjoyable. I would recommend Ellie to anyone who is looking to start their therapy journey or ready for someone/something new. Thanks Ellie!

While I got my basic needs taken care of here and left physically nourished and well-rested (which I'm grateful for), I felt like my psychological and spiritual needs were not met in individual therapy when I arrived in March 2022. Compassionate care sees a person with feelings and needs first, rather than looking for a diagnosis.

There's a lot of bad reviews on here, some talking about waiting some talking about staff some just upset because they don't get what they want when they wanted it. First off shout out to Ms G, Mr Clapp, Suzie, Zarriah, Ashton, (Red braids) lol, all the nurses, Ms. Kimberly aka Kimbo slice (she doesn't play lol) and Ms. Bree. There's a few staff there that obviously try to run it their own way but the people that leave the negative comments are the people that honestly don't know if they want change or not. These people are EXTREMELY compassionate, caring, understanding. Yea the bed might not be the most comfortable but hey at least you got one right? You're treated with respect, dignity, and they don't know you from Adam but everyone in there absolutely cares about you. So what if you have to wait 6 hours to be checked in.... you waited 20-30-40ect years to finally get help right? This place even though today I'm a week sober I'm going back to Texas to a year long program and they gave me my first stepping stone. Only thing I can tell the staff is, the frequent flyers in there need to chill. 5 day program. Just because they don't have a place to go when there's numerous resources and y'all work y'all butts off trying to get them in there but they don't want to go, if they don't want to commit to a 90 day program or have a plan to seek actual help afterwords tell them they can't come back for 90 days. You're not helping them out by giving them food and a place to stay for 5 days just to come back 24hrs later and ask to come back in when there's people ( like myself) that WANTED change and they take up what could potentially be the next person's like me bed. They come through there after 2 times if they come a third, 90 days next door, you don't want to then 90 days till you can get a bed, you don't complete 90 days next door you are red flagged from coming in. Just some advice Thank y'all for everything. Thank y'all for giving me a stepping stone. Love y'all. God Bless

This is actually 4½ stars. The public restroom in the main lobby to all businesses does *not* have a baby diaper changing station in it. There's no room in a stall, not that you'd want to change your baby on the floor of a public restroom... For a medical facility, you'd think a baby diaper changing table/station would be an important piece of a restroom. This could be a major improvement to this facility.

We found Dr Duggan for one of our foster children who had PTSD. He is doing wonderfully now! We take the three children we adopted from foster care to her. They love her and we think she’s great. I don’t usually write reviews online but felt she needed to be praised after I read a bad review by one former client. Then, I looked up that person’s online reviews. They are all bad. Take what you read with a “grain of salt”.

I have been seeing Mel Merlotti since I first moved to Missouri at the beginning of 2023. As someone who has seen multiple therapists throughout college and graduate school, I knew that having some extra support during my transition into a new job after graduation was essential. Mel has been very supportive and receptive during our sessions. I've had experiences with bad therapists and good therapists, and while I know that therapists are not a one size fits all solution, I will say that Mel has suited my needs and I have gained a lot out of our sessions. Mel recognizes that we have different experiences based on cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, but they can definitely empathize with some of the struggles that I've faced and talk about during therapy. Highly recommend Mel and River Rock Behavioral. The whole team is very nice and accommodating to my needs.

This has been one of the hardest experiences I’ve been dealt. My mother was transferred here from the hospital and under care they have been very attentive on communication with me and helping my mom with her needs. The type of people who care for the patients here are so special and really handle a lot. I am very grateful for their care.

Was placed here by DFS when I was a kid. Out of 36 children I was the only white kid and because of that I dealt with alot of bullying and abuse by both the staff and other residents. The 2 years that I was there were pure hell. There was a couple decent staff members that worked there.

Tyva is a JOKE!! She skipped THREE of my appointments, we did the genetic swab test in HER OFFICE she administered it sealed it and took it to the front to mail... I got a text from testing center saying the received it and would let me know when results were ready. I got that text, went in to get results for Tyva to say I didn't give you that or send it off. I don't have it.. So I have now switched to Dr. T and the staff in the back have done AMAZING at correcting wrongs done by Tyva and helping me get the care I deserve. Only other complaint is the older receptionist is RUDE and seems to constantly have an attitude and is of little to no help. Honestly not a good fit for Mental health clients..... Other wise the staff is AMAZING!!!

I've been attending groups and 1 on 1 therapy at synergy for over a year now and the one thing that stands out the most is the counselors and staff genuinely care about your wants and needs. I feel like I'm part of a larger group there and my life has definitely changed for the better. Other than that the environment is calm, safe, welcoming and everyone is happy to see you there. It's a wonderful community of people in recovery.

I’ve had such a great experience with this clinic. Everyone there is super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes going to appointments a lot less stressful. One thing I really appreciate is that they actually answer the phone every time I call—seems like a small thing, but it’s a big deal these days. They’re always helpful, patient, and willing to answer any questions I have. Overall, they just make everything simple and comfortable. You can tell they really care about their patients. I’d definitely recommend them!

This organization is amazing! I have attended many events for Missouri Girls Town, and the stories from former residents truly speak to the support and help that Missouri Girls Town provides. Without them, many of these girls' lives would be destroyed by their abusive parents and foster parents. This organization actually helps these young girls to achieve more and overcome the trauma they have endured. Someone has to help these kids and I'm glad that Missouri Girls Town is doing its part to help these young ladies.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Missouri?
When comparing providers in Missouri, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Missouri?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Missouri?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Missouri providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Missouri providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
