Doctor is amazing. Team seems pretty good. But the lack of communication in regards to med refills is horrible. Another weekend I'm going to be without my medicine (that I requested 3 days ago via the portal) because no one responds to messages or acknowledges anything you request from them it's a shame
Have been a client here for over 10years at times i have been frustrated with certain aspects of the program. Like long waits to see the doctors or issues receiving medications. However they have made a major difference in my life. There are ppl here that truly care an will go above to help out. Big shout out to all of the Semo staff an ty for everything you all have did to help me along the path of recovery.
Laura and all the staff at New Horizons have been such a blessing to me. They've helped me with proper treatment for all of my mental health needs, and have helped me obtain safe housing to get me off the streets and continue to help me out with anything I need. I would recommend their services to anyone who needs help dealing with mental illness and homelessness that are looking for a place that make sure you get all the help you need without any type of judgement.

I think everyone goes into this experience with somewhat of a sour attitude. I have to say, Lisa, Michelle and Amy are such wonderful individuals. I could not be more grateful for the experience I had. I learned a lot about myself and the awareness of alcohol and drug use. It has definitely opened my eyes in such a positive way. If for any reason you find yourself in need of their services I would highly recommend them to fulfill your court ordered classes! From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. 😊

Wonderful labor and delivery department! I was extremely nervous about delivering and all the nurses I had when delivering were wonderful. Dr. Perkinson was the on call doctor and he was fantastic. I never thought I would be laughing while delivering my baby, but it was truly a fun experience! They take great care of you here, I could have ten more babies in this hospital with the experience I had :)

Dr. Amanda Cummings is the best dentist i habe every been to. I refuse to see anyone but her. Absolutely painless even with a tooth that another dentist refused to pull because it had "too much infection," she yanked it no problem. Her assistant is very nice too. Stephanie i believe her name is. Don't hold me to it. But that pair are definitely the .Team. so if you see she is your doctor then rest assured you are in good hands. 10/5 stars. The absolute best.

Recently traveled to Branson for vacation and unfortunately needed to visit the ER. The experience from the registration desk to the outpatient pharmacy was great. The hospital was clean and private. The ER doctor (Dr Schmidt) gathered the information and developed a plan with us. He had the knowledge, experience, and compassion. The ER nurse Kirza and triage nurse Brian were friendly and intelligent. We even received a follow up call a few days later. I truly appreciated everyone there & feel very confident being under care at Cox medical.
My experience at Avery Recovery Center was far from satisfactory. After checking myself in, I encountered several issues when I decided to leave. I requested my belongings, but they refused to return them. I also asked to make a phone call for a ride, which was denied. When I inquired about how to get through the gate at the end of the property, a staff member simply shrugged and said she didn’t know. Fortunately, as I reached the end of the road, a staff member was leaving and opened the gate for me.

I have been asked to leave a review for MRC several times by staff. I have hesitated as I was not sure if what I had to say was beneficial, but I figure that my experience should be spoken about. I stayed at MRC for 45 days. Most of the groups are really great. They have outside counselors and social workers come in to lead these groups, so you get a wide array of coping techniques and information to see what works best for you. I even see one of the counselors now that I’m home that led a group. Groups were great. The food was good and the chefs were good people. I made a lot of long-time friends from peers. Most of the nursing/technician staff was amazing as well. I wish I could shout them all out, because they made me feel safe and supported when I really needed it. Beyond that, I’d have to say my experience with my primary therapist and several staff members was nothing short of atrocious. I have spoke in my therapy since I’ve been home about more anxiety I gained while at MRC. One recurring topic was about a friendship I made with a peer while there. They constantly from day one accused us of “fraternizing” and it continued on until the day we left. They would call us out in front of the rest of our peers if we sat near each other in group. They would pull us out and have personal talks with us about it. They would mention it in our one on one therapy even. It’s insane to me that my insurance paid out $60k for me to waste my time in therapy talking about a non-existent situation with a peer, when I’m fighting to want to live and go home to my husband and two daughters. There was also a point where I was put on a “watch” as I was having SI. My therapist stated she would check in with me over the next few days several times. She didn’t. But, she did quickly pull me out of groups and what I was doing to haggle me about drama within the facility and with peers. Another issue was medication. I was not able to start the correct medication until a week before I went home. I wasn’t even sure at that point if I *could* go home as I was in a worse state than when I arrived. Overall, my experience just was not good. I am an adult. I have a career. I have a life that I love and wanted to work on myself to get home and be able to be the wife, mother, friend, coworker, etc. that I was prior to all of this. Once I did get home, I began to feel much better. It all kind of clicked for me that being in MRC and having to deal with peer drama and the wrong things was hurting vs helping. I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend MRC to someone who is severely struggling as I don’t believe some of the therapists are equipped to handle more complex diagnoses and the environment may not help what you’re already going through.
This is an Amazing place, with a heart for saving our loved ones from the addiction that is destroying not just them but their families as well. Whether it's intake, detox, counseling, and preparation with life skills and tools that will empower them to walk back into society and be humble but work hard for their sobriety, knowing that God is in control and that they can be successful in their recovery. I highly recommend. God sent them to me to save my son when he was ready to get clean but didn't know how...they were there...
Awesome doctor with excellent bedside manner that tested my blood sugar to find out I had diabetes. I probably had it for years and didn't even know! Very caring and knowledgeable. I recommend Dr. Abusetta to everyone 👍🏻👏 😊 Thank God for your help, Doctor... you saved my life 🙏
I am not from this area so I know how good mental health care and the people employed to provide good care can be. In my opinion Dr. Gowda is the most unfit, uncaring, disconnected excuse for a mental heath provider I've met in my 49 years of life. And at the end of my incompetence ridden hour with him, he wanted to continue with the treatment I was receiving at Greater Cincinnati Behavioral without one seemingly original thought or hypothesis. One star is far too generous but necessary to leave my opinion
The staff is friendly and the other patients are generally kind and supportive. Good sense of community here.

When I first started receiving services from the Family Guidance Center, my case worker informed me that they offer therapy, but then I ended up receiving counseling instead. And just to be clear, therapy is NOT the same thing as counseling. Therapy is long-term whereas counseling is short-term, and it baffles me that this place cannot tell the difference. Besides, their in-person "therapist" was being a narcissist and a hypocrit towards me and was being indirect and unclear in his questions he asked me. And regarding the person who is in charge of approving or denying "therapist" changes, it is clear that she only cares about the business and not the clients too. That is essentially the true definition of a disservice. I'm lucky she was perfectly willing to recommend elsewhere so I can see an actual therapist, one who offers long-term therapy. Now I'm not done. She also mentioned that me seeing my case worker technically was my long-term therapy. How is it supposed to feel like actual therapy when I'm sitting in front of a desk and talking to my case worker like she's my boss at work or something? That is so misleading on so many levels. Bottom line, the only good thing about this place is the psychiatrist who is outstanding by the way. Literally everything else about this place sucks though.
