Last therapist, who was the head one, insulted, screamed at me, and told me I would be just like my mentally ill family before she retired. Corporate I think was not managing things right since the pandemic so she redirected her nastiness on me - and then she retired. Had to hide things from her since I couldn't trust her. Then my mental health collapsed after half a year of disasters from this place. Was good in 2019 and prior, now is probably worse than no therapy.

What a waste of money! I wish I could get my money back, but it is already too late 😡😡. I hate it so much no assisstance.

Quite a ways out in advance, I put my appointments on hold. I did this with an explanation. The billing had not only never gotten with me, but then hit me with an outrageous amount. I was immediately discharged and not even told! Who discharges someone without telling them when they are on medication that they cant just stop taking???!!! Incredibly unprofessional. My therapist however was quite awesome.

The management at Levindale has replaced the Hippocratic Oath with, “Bleed em’ dry n’ let em’ die.” I adore my physician. They had some great therapists. I had a few good nurses and techs. The management was evil and covered for some nasty techs. Now they want to shaft me out of money. I have a gluten-free, lactose free diet. It was a very hard to get them to be diet compliant with the meals. I had to police every tray. These people just didn’t care. Therapy left specific instructions on how I was to toilet. One text said, “That’s too much work. If therapy wants that they do themselves.“ The tech was completely insensitive to my injuries and how they impacted toileting. I am lactose intolerant. They ran out of Lactaid. Because they are kosher and it was a Saturday. I could not eat for 15 hours. These people don’t care. They could be callous. I was receive a drug called Zosyn. I was to receive 34 hour infusion a day. That is a pain. The director of nurses Shirell about that. she said, “if you needed that you should’ve stayed at Sinai.” They gave me shorter infusions. I had a serious drop and a type of White blood cells called neutropenes. what that meant was that I was immune compromised. Staff were to wear masks when they came into my room. One person wore what looked like PPE. A tech Sandra was helping me toilet. Sandra took off her mask got within 8 inches of my face and verbally abused me. Not only was I uncomfortable. I was frightened. They would not give me Sandra‘s last name so that I could report her to the board of nursing. Previously , the director of nurses Shirell came into my room and yelled at me. I felt hurt. I felt uncomfortable. that woman is evil. I was discharged. Levindale‘s duty to provide case management for services received while they are survives my discharge. levindale would not assist with IRO reviewer Pierre review. they would not provide a letter of medical necessity. They are obligated to do that. My surgeon had to do their job. The IRO club never had to have received said letter in time which is patently false. They are in breach of their duty to provide case management. I am not satisfied with their services. I hold that no reasonable patient could be satisfied with their services. Pursuant to HIPAA you may defend yourselves

Cornerstone clients are an amazing spectacular group of individuals looking for support and guidance. The organization as a whole isn't that bad, I was able to interact with some knowledgeable staff members. But there is a lack of communication, support and respect from upper management. In order to provide services to the individuals it requires compassionate, understanding and patience. I only witnessed that with a few co-workers. Please retrain management, by doing that will allow your organization to run like a well oil machine.

I officially withdrew as a patient here. I suggest everyone else does the same. I have been very patient with covenant for some time and given many chances for them to get their organization together. 1. The front desk is terrible. They lie and say they set up an appt for the doctor to call and I never received a phone call and will lie to you again saying someone did call. 2. The billing is terrible. They can definitely let you know if you owe a payment but can never provide statements for all the payments you have made! Just look elsewhere. These people need to be reported!!

This place has caused me so much stress. I've been trying to get my daughter a therapist appointment for the last couple months. Everytime she has an appointment QCI either doesn't send the link in time and tells us we have to reschedule or just don't show up at all. How cam you get help if the people in the office aren't doing their jobs

I liked it at first but now it is just different. I have Lantz for my therapist. Very nice lady and very understanding. The place itself isn't good. They have told me over email that I was getting kicked out in other words because of me missing an appointment which I had already canceled two weeks prior. I had to call and tell them that I did not receive anything in the mail or any text messages stating this was taking place. I found out through my email day of. Time passes and things get sorted out. But now I got a notice in the mail stating I missed my appointment. I had told the lady a week or two ago not to schedule me any appointments for the time being because I had just lost a family member and in the middle of moving to a different county. I also had a phone that broke so the only way I knew I had this appointment still was through my email. I called and told the lady to not reschedule me for another appointment because of the no internet issues not a proper phone to use and the lack of transportation. I then just called them and they said they would let my therapist know but they don't know how she would feel about it. I feel as though they are not very understanding towards what their patients have going on causing them to not be at their appointments.

Ever since Dr. Relacion left and the new doctor, Dr. Akatan took over my experiences have been horrible!! She doesn't care about the needs of her paitents, she doesn't listen, she's rude and disrespectful. The ONLY reason I gave this place one star is because the other staff and therapist (Ron Johnson) are still as great as before. Unless you are going for therapy ONLY and you want to keep your sanity, I DO NOT recommend this office. I just left there and I'm more anxious and depressed than wen I went in!!!!

The clinical director (CD) at CVC refuses to work with family members. He makes promises and rules about communication expectations and does not follow them himself. But blames family members for getting upset when that happens over and over again. I was promised 4 sessions with the family therapist and only got one. I was invited to one "team meeting" during an incredibly stressful time and was not even introduced to the team of 9 sitting at the table before they started making demands of me. When my family member went missing in the middle of the night a few days ago, the CD did not contact me to inform me as the emergency contact. Eventually, when he responded to my email and text inquiries 6 hours later, he promised me an update as soon as he had any information. For days I waited for an update which he continually refused to provide after promising it. All I know is as a consequence they took away my family member's electronics...which means we cannot communicate with one another...which was the only thing that kept my family member safe when he was gone in the middle of the night becasue he was texting me and I was keeping him calm and encouraging him to return to the program. I had no way to get in touch with staff after hours. I just now received an email saying the staff will not provide me an update on that incident and will not stay in contact with me anymore becasue they considered my 3 requests for the update over the weekend to be "hostile". But I am still the emergency contact. Does it make sense to withhold information and refuse to communicate with the emergency contact during an emergency? They never stayed in contact with me to begin with. The CD required that he be the "go between" for my communications with my family member, then proceeded to make even the simplest communications 10 times worse and then would abruptly cut off communication with no resolution. I even had a situation where I needed to get a State of Maryland legal financial document notarized within 24 hours...and the CD said "I'm sorry I can't authorize a visit without 72 hours notice. I'm sorry for the inconvenience." We were forced to work around the CD's rules becasue this was an issue that could have cost us our home...but he did not care. My family member is much higher functioning than many of the other residents, but they do not recognize his triggers and mood swings. They kept him basically locked up for two months...he was not even allowed to go for a walk ... then all of a sudden within 2 days gave him all his privileges (can go off-campus, have car (but not drive it!!!), self-administering meds, no need to ask for permission for guests...) all at once and told him he could be discharged in 2 weeks instead of the planned discharge which would have been in 3 more months. He has no home, no money and they gave him all the freedoms and no safety net. My family member was freaked out and thought he should just go become homeless and live under a bridge. I have worked as the Clinical Director and as senior clinical staff in programs like this on and off for 30 years....I have never encountered such disrespect for families, inability to meet the client where they are and poor implementation of staged privileges.

This place is a joke. The intake woman said I can keep my prp from another agency since I had her for so long but I get in there and instantly lost my worker. My therapist says she is checking on things but never does. Save yourself alot of stress of you find somewhere else. I'm reading reviews from now on. They cancel appointments but as soon as you do or can't get the video call to work, they send a letter of attendance. This place has no idea what is going on.

Cautiously optimistic My daughter is under the care of this provider and has been for some time. My perception has been that those with whom we've worked are sympathetic to her needs and have provided timely responses to requests for appointments and follow-ups. I had the occasion to accompany my daughter to her appointment yesterday, and though it was their first interaction with me, I felt heard and understood in my observations of my daughter's case. My only concern is in what feels to be a too-frequent turnover in staff providers who leave the practice with little or no warning to the patients, leaving them feeling abandoned. My hope is that the management will continue to make improvements to increase the resiliency, commitment and loyalty of the staff, such that continuity for the patients can be maintained.

Most of the therapists I've met are very nice other than a few. I struggle with the psychiatrists though as they tend to be pretty monotone and just don't seem to care about me as a person, so I feel uncomfortable trying to talk with them to get proper meds. The receptionists are really lacking though.. I would schedule an appointment just for it to be scheduled for a different day instead and I don't know until day of and there's nothing I can do but try and make another appointment, delaying my time to be seen. I've also gotten mixed up with other patients in scheduling which is frustrating. They also just straight up hung up on me when I was trying to call them back after getting a call about rescheduling me.. it just feels very unprofessional.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Maryland?
When comparing providers in Maryland, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Maryland?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Maryland?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Maryland providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Maryland providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
