I went to these people for help stop using all drugs was not on maintenance drugs or anything I was just looking for help to learn a new way to live I was stole from and thrown out of their program walking down the street on a 12° day I was clean I contacted these people numerous times about getting my belongings and was treated as if I was nothing this is part of the problem with our society what we do to make a dollar off each other and disguise it as these people are not there to help anyone they're there to gain real estate and wealth on the disabilities and disappointments of others I honestly hope and pray someday let the so-called programs and sober living homes are put to an end they benefit no one unless you're willing to benefit them I'm very ashamed an embarrassed and scarred from my experience I will never again trust in other human beings that disguise themselves has people that are there to help others they're not they're only there to help theirselves to wealth and property if you really want help for drug addiction pick up an narcotics anonymous book and go to a meeting it's not easy either and it's full of garbage too nowadays because of the greed of others the purity of it has been destroyed

I considered admitting myself, so I bought and brought some comfort items (A blanket and a plushie), and was told I would not be able to keep them for "Sanitary reasons." When I told them I was no longer comfortable with being or staying there they took my meds away from me and threatened to have me detained for 72 hours since I didn't want to go behind the locked doors, due to PTSD I have from the way staff in this place treated me when I was a kid. I asked to leave and they repeatedly refused to let me leave, when I was only in the lobby, and ended up getting 5 staff members to surround me, I felt very threatened and it gave me an active PTSD attack, that I was still suffering from the day after, I went home and cried, the entire process made my mental health *significantly* worse than it already had been when I was considering being admitted. Plushes and blankets are *not* sanitary issues in places like these, they can be checked and washed, that was simply a power play from the staff and them wanting to remove any comfort and make their patients feels worse

Be careful when taking your loved one here.. I warn against this place. If possible find go somewhere else to go. The current So called school based therapist, Mindy Blankeman, is a joke. She has about 6 colors in her hair and thinks she is really somebody of authority over there. Honestly this place is a laughing joke among healthcare providers. Please be careful and don’t say you weren’t warned!!!

I had such high hopes when I started here. Telemedicine is odd but I adjusted. Initially my therapist seemed like someone I could work with but after intake took two sessions I couldn't get an appointment. They never contacted my insurance. My crisis passed without their help. Finally, the doctor didn't really listen. He wrote a prescription for a powerful drug that I didn't think I needed. DISAPPOINTED.

The therapist physical appearance did not reflect professionalism or instill confidence in my treatment. I got the vibe that they were just going through the motions to collect a check & weren't sincerely interested helping. Dont waist your time with these guys.

They are unorganized, unprofessional & just plain pitiful! I called about 6 times for my childs medical records (diagnosis) and still haven't gotten it. First time she said ok I'll send it, second time she had forgotten I guess third time says I have to have your case workers permission, (so I immediately contact case worker, who immediately gives permission) next time she needed another reminder I guess, next time I call to remind with info, then were back to the "I cant release records without her permission." Yet we've already had 2 conversations since you was GIVEN permission...

Thanksgiving of 2024 I was admitted to this hospital with an extremely horrific infection in my abdomen from a previous hernia surgery. I was so scared because I was away from home, and my husband couldn’t stay with me because he had to stay with our babies.. in the ER waiting room, the lady working checked on me 20 times, brought me Kleenex and water and just assured me they were taking me back soon. Another sweet lady that was waiting for her husband, came to me, held my hand and tried to have conversations with me about my children to keep my mind off of the pain. Once I went back, the doctor came and talked to me, I was sent for scans, then he told I had to have emergency surgery in the morning. I was so scared, I was crying my eyes out… my mom immediately started the drive down to help us.. but I had to go into surgery all by myself the next morning. Dr. Sharpe was amazing!!! They saw how scared I was and even called my husband to let me talk to him before going in… and he called and updated my husband right after. I woke up to a gaping open wound in my abdomen and them explaining that it would have to stay open and heal from inside out… and that I would have to have one more surgery to make sure they got the entire infection before I went home. My entire family came and spent Thanksgiving with me in the hospital.. the staff was so welcoming. But when I would start crying and freaking out about missing my husband and kids and wanting to go home, the nurses would come hold my hand, sit with me, talk to me, make me laugh… they were just all amazing. I’ve never experienced anything like that in any of my hospital stays! They taught my husband how to clean my wound for me, and were just so sweet and gentle. I don’t remember the floor (maybe 5w) but I wrote down some of the AMAZING NURSES and wanted to give shout outs to : Leslie, Jackie, Mahila, Ashley, Kammie, John, Denise, Edna & Richard!!! You guys all brought light to a dark time, made me laugh when I was scared, checked on me constantly and even just came and hung out with me when you could tell I was feeling alone… you were all so selfless, empathetic and so amazing to me. I’ll never forget any of you!! God bless you all!!! And especially DR. SHARPE!! You saved my life and I’m so grateful and thankful to you! I should’ve written this a long time ago, but life got away from me.

Because the so called Dr. Sits in the office on his phone. All the secretaries are inept. Just go somewhere else because these people have 0 work ethic!!!

I took my husband here because he doesn't have medical insurance and he doesn't speak English. He was a walk-in appt and was the second in line after a scheduled patient and the first walk-in, which was phenomenal. They are staffed with several Spanish speaking employees as well as the dentists. You can make an appt prior to your visit as well. Another plus for them is that they are income based, so so services you receive are based on that, using your prior two months proof of income. The waiting area was tiny bit the actual dental rooms in back are many. Although my husband wasn't able to be treated there he was diagnosed with a bone disease and we took advantage of another one of their great services... referrals. So anyone near the lexington area that doesn't have insurance but can provide proof of a small ANY TYPE of income and are in immediate need of fillings or tooth removal this is it! I only gave 4 stars because there was no consultation before they decided to take pictures and videos. At first i was upset bc it was an unnecessary expense, however it was a much needed diagnosis. Super clean building, knowledgeable bilingual staff, great rates and speedy service.

New Vista in Richmond Kentucky is really good with knowledgeable and caring staff. I started seeing a therapist with New Vista in Nicholasville but changed to the Richmond location after moving. The Richmond office is committed to ensuring their clients receive the best care, even reaching out to other locations if needed. I learned the hard way that not every New Vista location cares about the mental health of their clients, and I really wish the Richmond office could train the other ones on ethics and customer service. I am thankful that I have them on my healthcare team.

Reviews are most likely friends trying to give this place a good rating. My experience was unpleasant, as I was stared up and down like I was a weirdo as soon as I walked in the door. Not friendly whatsoever with their choice of tone and clearly lacking empathy. This is supposed to be a place to help people, and as soon as you pull up to the place it gives the TOTAL opposite vibes. You all should be ashamed, it’ll only catch up to you sooner or later I promise you that!!! Get off your high horse!

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Kentucky?
When comparing providers in Kentucky, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Kentucky?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Kentucky?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Kentucky providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Kentucky providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
