I came for medication assessment. I did not know it would be a four day stay. The intake staff were not open to discussion. I was not informed that it would be a multi day stay. I wasn’t given the option to deny the stay for the amount of time. The group staff were very kind. The group room was dirty with piles under the seats. My room was adequate. The mattress was not comfortable due to my back injury. Yet medication was provided. I would encourage that ALL night staff Not wear western foot ware that was very noisy shoes do not need to click on the tile floor as folks are trying to sleep Over all I would rate my stay as 4 out of 10 due to the intake person not discussing with me the rational for the multi day stay. Thanks for the opportunity to share.

Very disappointed in this therapy center. If they can’t handle a kid with disabilities then idk why they hire certain people. Just discharge them and send them away because they don’t learn the way “they would have liked”

Seven counties has wonderful peer support my therapist Laura Husband is wonderful. The psychiatrist assumed before asking and wanted to take me off a certain medication without tapering me off first. I felt felt like DR Epersson was trying to antagonize me. I love group therapy. The front desk needs help on being more professional. This is my honest evaluation

Should be zero stars. They never give the services they promise, constant delay after delay, roadblock after roadblock. They can't even tell you what's going on and leave it to you to figure out when they screwed up. Just go to Ashland's, this place should burn. Basically an insurance scam that discriminates against me.

I sat for 3 hours today. I had a major car accident. I hate pain meds! I for the second time in 9 years have not been able to bear the pain and had to seek help stronger than ibprofen. I came to Hoskins to see Dr Hoskins which I didn’t get to. I explained my history. Explained I needed medication to help short term not permanent . I explained I got no relief from tramadol. I am barely able to walk my normal remedy’s were not working and was desperate for relief. I was told to get blood work and sent on my way never told what was sent in only to find it was tramadol. I went back inside in desperation I didn’t want anything strong or long term just to get through the pain for a long trip coming up and to end this 2 week long misery that was worse than I’ve had it in the 9 years since my neck and back were damaged. ( I’m no sissy and can handle pain very well) I was told first it was illegal with out a current mri. ( I brought my MRI to show I was not seeking drugs as I despise them and those who abuse them and ruin it for people who from time to time do genuinely need help.) then the next response was well your insurance won’t cover it I responded that’s fine I’ll pay cash just please sent it. Then it was well it’s illegal we can’t with out MRI. Only to discover all complete lies. This place was very sketchy and unprofessional. Why I even came was beyond me. I was never even told what was being sent in I figured it out by looking at my pharmacy app. Wasted my chance to get actual help, and was given multiple inaccurate responses. Beyond disgusted at being lied to when I know from friends and clients who are actual MDS AND SURGEONS that this most certainly isn’t the case.

My son has been here. Very unorganized no communication even if they happen to be helping these kids you wouldn’t know because the communication is beyond awful. His therapist (Rochelle) has no showed on us three times with countless excuses. The supervisor of the cottage has been ignoring me for two days when I asked her for more communication. They change medication for weeks without telling you and don’t even send it home on passes so you have no clue. My son had a contagious skin infection I had no clue about and they ASKED me to take him on pass without sending home the cream for it. They have all new staff in the cottage every single time we pick him up every couple of weeks. They tell him not to tell me stuff. He told me some graphic things a kid did to another kid and they yelled at him and told them he wasn’t allowed to tell anyone. The list literally goes on. Like communication would clear up a lot of the issues but you will sit in the dark if you send your child here.

I came here just looking for a therapist I came to do intake paper work they asked if this was court order if I had any cases ECT ECT I said no and she was like I just have to ask you don’t understand the crazy that we see. When she ask why I was there I told her I was just looking to find a therapist I could see regularly and it was recommended by another professional therapist i go to but only once a month . The front desk lady said my insurance would probably not cover two therapist they weren’t for sure had to check the women was so rude and seemed like me being there was a bother even just asking the regular questions before there was ever any question of insurance then she said if we see you and your insurance doesn’t pay you gonna be able to pay? the exchange was so just uncomfortable I just told her that the professional that recommended me to come here said this place was on approved list of my insurance. At this point I repeatedly told her to just cancel it was fine I was sorry but she still got up to go talk to some one in the back and check she went behind a door and I could hear her and the other lady talking about my insurance probably won’t cover it and mockingly the front desk women clear as day was like Yeah I know I already told her that. So then the I guess higher up person opened the door and was like come back here and I just felt like a child being lead to principal office she was gonna have me repeat what I had told the women upfront but I just told her to cancel the appointment because I just felt like I came here for help and was met with no empathy or compassion or anything except the women who ran my id and insurance card she could tell I was uncomfortable and at least asked me how my day was I just think as a place dealing in mental health the least I could have been met with is simple kind way of saying my insurance policy wasn’t accepted here

I would give this place a zero if I could. This place is a joke. Please don't subject anyone you care abut to this so called hospital. No med staff anywhere. It seems any building can call themselves a hospital. No credentials needed. How about these places get checked out better before letting the clueless clients get there. Only open a couple years, but probably won't be for long. I think it's all a scam for money, of course. They just made our situation worse and wasted our time. Our mental health system is not broken because we don't have one. Shame on you people.

I have been a patient since 2022, had ZERO issues with Emerald, they were wonderful but since the new owners have taken over, there has been nothing but drama and losing employees. I have tried to resolve it with Nathan (he is the Supervisor over the call center), to no avail and he completely blamed his co-workers and told me I signed a contract but has yet to provide me with a copy. I also emailed the new owner to only not receive a response with him as well. I understand the Company has lost several patients and staff. Sad to be in business to "help mental health" but cause more harm than good. They told me I could not continue as a patient as I had a Monday appointment and woke up with a fever, and called to do telehealth or reschedule.... I was told that is considered a no call no show and was dismissed as a patient with no regards for my treatment plan and no referral. I was trying to honor the sign stating if you have had a fever or been sick in the past 24 hours please don't enter the office. So very disappointed in this agency that advertises so much to "help" the community of mental health to completely disregard that mission.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Kentucky?
When comparing providers in Kentucky, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Kentucky?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Kentucky?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Kentucky providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Kentucky providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
