The IOP program for this place is just terrible. During the group session we had 3 different therapists take over which seems too much to get any effective work done when the group is constantly rotating the therapist. I only went one time and I can tell right away that the therapists didn't care at all for the people in the group, they were just going through the motions. They were constantly on their phone and laptop and were very disengaged the whole time. One therapist was extremely passive aggressive with me which I thought was hilarious because we just got done talking about effective communication 😆 Just don't bother with this place. I recommend API if you want a program that works and people who actually care.

I graduated from Crossroads 20 years ago. The program consisted of groups, meeting and chores. We were not allowed to go to our rooms during the day to rest. The weekends we did house chores all day, taking everything out of kitchen cabinets etc. or on weekends we had an all day garage sale, not able to rest all days and weekends. At the time I didn't stay sober. Now I have been clean and sober 3 years I am 66 yrs. Old. I remember often of the hard program Crossroads was. Yet, thank God I had a place to live sober. Okay, try Crossroads lots of not lazy people like I was lazy could enjoy this program. Laura Shirley

Stay away from this place. I have a family member there and we can not get a hold of him after over a month. They mistreat people on purpose and treat the family the same way. You can not inquire on how your loved one is doing. They are allowed to smoke but not allowed to drink coffee. Good is bad and bad is good. The place need to be shut down yet somehow its still operating. If people get through the program it it because they want to leave and never return!! This is weather they leave and relapse or not. Horrible place!

We were housed here for two months. In this condition. An injury occurred. Documented. Good people under bad malicious leadership. Eman the director told me it would be good publicity, gloating… it’s been 30 days. No apology nothing. “Write that down” #noted

Excellent program. Staff are professional, compassionate and understanding. This is a great place to stabilize and find a positive direction in life. There are two staff that stand out above the rest. Dave and Hunter are outstanding staff who go beyond the call of duty to help clients. They are client centered and truly care. Thank you both for making a positive difference in clients life's. Thank you for all your help ❤️

I’m a CASA Court Appointed Special Advocate for a Transitional Age Youth with a Bipolar 1 diagnosis who has spent time at Sharp Mesa Vista, Grossmont Behavioral Health, Bayview crisis Center in Chula Vista, and twice now at Crestwood. In my opinion Crestwood does a great job. The patients have a lot of freedom within the confined walls. They have a large outdoor space with picnic benches where visitors can spend time with their loved ones. The patients have a phone and can both receive calls and make calls. From what I’ve been told the doctors and nurses listen to their patients and the food is good. Each time I’ve visited the nurses are respectful and kind with the patients. If you have been there yourself it’s hard to be subjective as you were likely there against your will. Mental illness is not easy.

This is one of the best facilities my daughter could have gone to when residential treatment becomes an option. The teachers here are amazing. They truly want their students to succeed. Our family therapist connected with my daughter so well that she was able to open up in a comfortable environment and be herself. The whole team did a phenomenal job in advocating for her needs and meeting us where we were at!

I attended CFD for about 7 months in 2024–2025, and while the experience was life-changing, it wasn’t perfect. The staff—mainly therapists and dietitians—did a great job teaching me DBT, CBT, and other mental health tools I still use to improve myself and my relationships. They supported me when I couldn’t support myself and helped create a strong sense of community through group therapy, outdoor walks, cooking, expressive arts, and more. I formed deep friendships and started believing in myself and in recovery. However, there were a handful of moments that were genuinely triggering. Patient outbursts happened every few months, and the team didn’t always handle them with care. Some comments—even from staff—went unaddressed, and at times we were blamed or labeled “rude/insensitive” for pushing back against mistreatment. Adults were often treated with more respect, and staff occasionally became defensive or dismissive. This wasn’t constant, but it was memorable and impacted my trust in the support team. Many of my peers were discharged right before meaningful progress, often due to insurance issues or being seen as “difficult,” which made the environment feel tense at times. Nonetheless, recovery is a delicate and complicated process, and the staff did a great job navigating it. I credit CFD for shifting my mindset and helping me reconnect with myself and my passions. I’ve learned what confidence and self-respect are. I’ve rediscovered my interests and my true self. I still struggle, but without CFD, I wouldn’t be half the person I am today. Thanks gang ❤️

I’ve yet to attend my first session, but have had a FANTASTIC experience leading up to it. Sarah has been really quite lovely to work with; she is extremely pleasant and welcoming, and she knew just which therapist would be a good fit for me and my needs. I am SO excited for my first session!!!

My son tried to apply to attend this program. I saw reviews and thought it was a good place for him. The person he spoke to on the phone was horrible, kept accusing him of lying, treated him terribly, then they ghosted him. Too many of these programs employ people that did drugs or alcohol for years and are not right in the head. Getting sobered doesn't always make you an ideal candidate for counseling others. That is one of the reasons many of the programs are so awful.

I never felt wanted. I stayed a year and then left. I can tell that several of the people there didn't like me. One of the people saw me as an angry person and the worst thing that can happen to a client is to be seen as someone negative and not nice to be around. Last thing I wanted to be was that so I left. Let them have their nice place without me.

My mom close to me in Mesa Vista children's mental hospital when I was 13 now that place did nothing but scared the hell out of me the doctors barely talk to you the nurses help but they were male nurses and female patients the females really getting over on the nails the younger you are the more you ever went to the advantage. In my roommate to get a rest in the middle of the night and I got yelled at for running out in the hall to run up to the front desk to tell them there's blood everywhere and they put me in a paragraph at 13 don't put your kid better if you love them

My daughter just completed the OCD & Anxiety program at Rogers Behavioral Health. The program at Rogers is excellent, and I don't know what we would have done without the highly trained staff there. Please understand that these therapies are very difficult. It is extremely hard to spend every day facing ones deepest fears. However, for those willing to do this, the therapy does work, and the staff is highly trained in providing these therapies-Exposure Response Therapy / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. There were days when my daughter did not want to go to program, and we struggled. It was not a linear progression. But now that we have gone through the program, she has conquered many fears that were preventing her from fully living her life, including going to school. Again, I would like to thank the highly trained behavioral specialists, pshyciatrists, and therapists at Rogers. Sophie is an excellent and thorough therapist, who provided a detailed and structured framework that we as parents couldn't have created in a million years. This is very difficult work for both the staff and the patients; but it is worth it.

I went there due to an attempted OD, and it lowkey sucked being there. There were some cool nurses (shout out to the nurses). But the doctor lowkey sucked. I got prescribed antidepressants for the first time, because my family was super anti-drugs used for mental illnesses, and I started at 50mg and within a day or two was switched with 100mg of the standard Zoloft (which you’re not supposed to do so fast, because it messes up your brain so badly). I had to deal with a horrible list of repercussions as a teenager. Plus we had some supervisors like Stephanie and Mason that sucked so badly + were super insensitive.. I mean why work with kids if you hate them? 😂 It’s not like we forced you to work here, so what’s with that insane attitude? Plus if you don’t have any roommates, you have no form of entertainment except their bad selection of books that’s for elementary schoolers. You are stuck in a room for most of the time, and our outside time was cancelled A LOT. (We got less outside time than the average prisoner. I mean what the hell!?). There’s a serious power imbalance in there and the staff abuse it!! But yeah, other than your bad selection of books and the daytime room, there’s basically nothing to do. It was driving me more insane than when I arrived!! I understand there was strict rules set in order to stabilize us, but we are barely allowed to talk to each other. Got screamed at for LITERALLY everything!! Please do not send your kid here, even if the psychologist sends them here from the ER. One thing i’ll give them props to is the woman who did the outside time was really sweet! She did mainly the relaxation activities and coloring activities.

We were given a referral to a dentist at this clinic because my child has autism, and we were supposed to see a doctor who treats people with special needs. The girls at the reception desk were quite polite, but when we went in, we were met by a very rude assistant—a man in his 60s who spoke very rudely, after which I simply asked him to leave and call the doctor. But when the doctor arrived, he also said he couldn't see us and that this clinic doesn't provide anesthesia for people with autism like my son, so we'd better find another doctor. We discussed all these details when we made the appointment. I just don't understand why these people call themselves doctors who treat people with special needs, and why they are so rude and incompetent.
