Would give negative stars if I could all they wanted to do is pump you with Suboxone and other heavy drugs then they want to discharge you. Thanks for nothing. I miss McFarland you better get that sublovade shot OFF my PMP. (Insurance company will be investigating) You never gave that shot my insurance insurance company is aware of it too. Thanks for nothing you could’ve potentially had me at high risk for relapse Someone has definitely dropped the ball here and it’s sad that patients are considered numbers not names I digress

The process to receive service is out dated! It's not conducive to those who are in actual need of help! There's absolutely no urgency! I have to say the services are okay when you actual can get them but those who fall through the cracks are nothing more than left behind.

They were polite when I was there the first time but they gave me medicine that had terrible side effects. I asked for my regular medicine they wouldn't give it to me. They said I had to keep on taking Latuda that was giving me jerking motions and bad side effects. When I called to make an appointment during covid I was unable to fill out the paper she asked because the link she sent was dead and then they told me I could never come back again. So thanks for helping me know that this is obviously not the place for mental health

If I could give a zero stars I would. There are a few staff and providers that are wonderful but they unfortunately don’t make up for the mess of everyone else. Ms. Jackson misrepresented herself as a therapist when she is only a resident in counseling and was not ready to manage the underlying issues my child had. Harbor Point was named in the Senate Report for abuse and neglect and didn’t disclose it to parents, residents, and didn’t make an attempt to show what changes were being made to fix the issues. The facility will not work with schedules to keep siblings connected or have family sessions accessible to working parents. Transcripts from school were not obtained so they placed my child in the wrong grade level. Placed her on restrictions but couldn’t explain why. Violated human rights. Supervisors don’t respond to emails. They don’t provide itemized bills at all but make sure to charge insurance thousands and thousands per month. The kids can’t play outside regularly, can’t play on the playground on the website, the pool is not in use like the website portrays, on phone calls you can hear the staff yelling at the kids, staff don’t monitor who your child is calling, the kids were left unattended when a staff member walked out and we were never notified. Records weren’t released at discharge and we were repeatedly promised to have them the Monday after discharge and they were not sent. They never coordinated care post discharge. It is a nightmare to try and work with this place. Do not send your child here.

I was a patient overnight in the Emergency Department. I wore my ring upon entry and surrendered it, and it was placed in inventory. It was not among my belongings when I was released. The clerk on duty said they would look for it and call me back. I have not received a call. I waited for several days, and then I called to inquire. I have not received a callback. It has now been more than 2 weeks, and I have heard nothing.

I had and have had a terrible experience dealing with these people. Time after time I returned for treatment and was made by these people to feel like my case was not worth looking further into in a proper way. I received no suggestions for alternative places to get service from and the staff was extremely unfriendly and rude. I highly recommend if you have a loved one not to take them for care here if they are dealing with a mental illness. They repeatedly mess up the medications and quell you into a program where they advise your family to regularly TDO you by calling the police on you when you are not medication compliant among other thing. The people that work here are rude, sadistic, sick with love for belittling people and hungry to control people with severe mental illnesses if you ever come across Dr. Mcdaniels or anyone from the act team or someone named Christie I highly recommend you keep your distance. The people that work in the mental health services are nothing but trouble. Warning; Don't go to Henrico Mental Health for services.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Virginia?
When comparing providers in Virginia, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Virginia?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Virginia?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Virginia providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Virginia providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
