My experience at Valley Vista was truly life-changing. I spent a little over 30 days there for substance abuse treatment, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself. From the moment I arrived, I felt supported, respected, and genuinely cared for. The staff are nothing short of exceptional—knowledgeable, compassionate, and consistently present. They took the time to really listen, meet me where I was, and help me build the tools I needed to heal and grow. Their encouragement never felt forced or generic; it was sincere and deeply motivating. The program itself is thoughtfully structured and effective. The combination of therapy, education, and daily support created an environment where real change felt possible . I didn’t just get sober here—I learned how to understand myself better, take accountability, and move forward with hope and confidence. Valley Vista gave me a safe space to reset my life and reminded me that recovery is not only possible, but worth it. I will always be grateful for the impact this place and its people have had on my journey. I highly recommend Valley Vista to anyone seeking meaningful, lasting recovery.

I have been working with a clinician at this practice for going on four years now. I am always treated with dignity and respect and I have received the most excellent counseling from my provider. She has seen me through the deaths of two family members and I honestly do not know what I would do without her services. Eden Valley has also made interns available to help me with some of the processes and organizing in my life that I need to do. I am so grateful to have found such an amazing fit for myself. Thank you to all at Eden Valley.

A truly, wonderful program for young adults struggling with Mental Health disorders and a wide variety of other struggles. Path is located in a beautiful part of a a beautiful place where safety and comfort are priority. The CEO is a selfless individual who does this work out of the kindness of her heart, not for the money or the recognition. The team at Path are qualified individuals who are experienced, trained, and experts in their field, creating a welcoming environment for potential residents and employees as well. PATH helped me unlock my inner potential when I was at a point where I had to learn to become a functioning member of society without having to constantly rely on others to fix my problems for me. The staff has wonderful communication with both residents and other staff, and provides a pet-friendly living space for individuals to search for their inner-being and find their place in this world. For those who have struggled long-term or short-term, PATH works individually with residents and their families to create the best possible outcome for their collective future. Thank you to PATH for giving me skills I needed to move on with my life and reach the best of my abilities. (PS, the food is wonderful, artistic expression is encouraged and facilitated, and the people working behind the scenes do their best to make all individuals, including LGBTG+, feel welcome and accepted)

my experience with NKHS here has been good so far on the clinical end. I really felt listened to and understood by Meghan, she was wonderful to talk to. I have only started my relationship here and will update my review, but so far I've been pleasantly surprised especially after the other reviews and knowing some experiences some have had there. There do seem to be some awesome folks as well!

I went there today, October 14th, 2025 with a high recommendation from a Dr. Who opened a primary care in white river jct. I was not disappointed whatsoever. From the receptionist who was friendly, to the nurse and then the doctor. I need to have my ears flushed about every 6 months. Had not had it done in quite some time. The young nurse was outstanding. The Doctor, i wish I had gotten all their names, was kind, caring and understanding. After 30 minutes of rinsing, digging (softly) and an attempt by the nurse, then finally a last try by the doctor, got the remaining chunks/wax out. She was surprised on how much i had in there. I feel so much better. Not tired and worn out like I felt prior to this. Thank you Springfield Urgent Care. You all were awesome!

This place helped save my life and give me and my children a fighting chance! If you're really ready to change your life around and want a better future; this is the right support to utilize! It was challenging at times but helped to give me the tools I needed to be successful! I would recommend this place for any mother that needs the support, guidance, and care needed to rebuild a strong foundation for you and your children. My life wouldn't be where it is without LUND! They gave me my life back and gave their children their mother...at a different a better capacity! Thank you to all the amazing people working there!

I left worse than when I got there. The people there scapegoated me. I was experiencing bad asthma from the medication and the psychiatrist didn’t even help me adjust the medication for two years when I was the one who made the change. But they charge you a lot of money and just let you be in their factory. Staff avoided me and gave me bad vibes. I truly tried to connect with the people there but that backfired and they obviously had issues with me trying to stay lucid. Send your loved ones somewhere else. It’s a factory. I do not miss those people. It was three tough years. Lastly, the Staff were not good and needed to do more than bullshitting with each other in some kind of foreign pig Latin. I know people like getting a word in on cigarette breaks but holy crap! Then their management is strong and your loved one is seriously not there so welcome and I don’t want that for me or your loved one. However, you should go elsewhere is all. They want to get rich like one staff told me who was a former resident who they hired because he was a bullshitting talker from New Jersey. That place is for a loved one who truly can’t function. I learned from them because two seriously ill residents accused me of assault and I had to explain my innocence to the State of Vermont and police to stick up for myself and then nobody cared except my therapist who grilled me with questions for three years as I explained myself to her too. Perhaps they have changed and better have. If I was you I would take a good look at them first and compare them to other places like Alternative to Meds Center in Arizona who at least try to show you that psychiatry can be harmful but you need your loved to be strong enough or motivated to go there. I just posted this because I don’t want people to subtly be taken advantage of like I was. It’s wrong. I’m not a boxer but when they train they learn to move out of the way and that applies to me and you when it comes to Averte

Horrible! They kept screwing me over. When I got a job without their help all of a sudden they were inviting themselves over; Wanting to go with me to my job to an employer it would have looked like i am not capable of having a job alone. Im very glad that I stopped services with these people. They wanted to take my money that they had in a funding account for me. Instead of giving it to me whom the money belongs to they wanted to give it to other people. This made me especially mad after realizing that they were not giving me any services. Oh Lets not forget about the letter I sent them. I made sure that I copied the judge on it and sent him an exact copy of the letter saying I wanted to know how much money was in my account that they set up for me and I wanted that money put into my bank account. Guess what they decided to do instead!!! They sent the money to social security instead of putting it in the bank. OH! I almost forgot to mention they told voc-rehab that I was uniterested in getting a job! I had even met with Chelsea lamphere and told her I was willing on mulitple occasions that I was willing to try anything for a job. I plan on going to the court and start a case against them i hope they end up getting an audit and have everything that they have done off record and sent to the judge! I would wish them luck but im

I had an abscess twice from court order medication they didn’t do anything about it. Next thing I know I was apprehended by local police and state troopers and had an altercation and got tasered twice all because of claremartin centers protocol. I never received a text message or email prior to becoming detained. Lack of transparency and lack of order. Screw dr Keven Buchanan. This is one of only facilities that deals with mental health in rural Vermont. Good luck finding treatment with a solid team. F ‘em

Another disappointing, does very close to the bare minimum, mental health clinic. Nice to know that the place that is one of the designated mental health centers for our county and the one, or one of few for all of VT, is one where their "professionals" working there do so little, it takes them SO LONG - to actually DO said, so little, and yet another place that if you go seeking services and thinking they're going to make a big difference but of course, pretty early on you realize that isn't the case and if anything, they're just "one more thing" now, on top of whatever else you may be dealing with.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Vermont?
When comparing providers in Vermont, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Vermont?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Vermont?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Vermont providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Vermont providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
