I am extremely disappointed with this recovery center and the way they treat their clients. Despite providing excused absences and legitimate doctor’s notes to Jake and Kyle, we were still dropped from the program with little understanding or compassion. For a place that claims to care about recovery and support, the lack of flexibility and empathy was shocking. Communication throughout the program was poor and inconsistent if there was any at all. Important information was either unclear or never communicated properly, they claim to have given us a contract which was to be signed but I'd never seen or notified about . leaving us confused and stressed during an already difficult time. Staff is 100% disconnected and unwilling to work with people who were genuinely trying to comply with the program requirements. The overall treatment experience felt impersonal and lacking dedication to the well-being of their clients. Phoenix recovery should focus on helping us succeed, not making us feel abandoned over situations that were medically documented and out of our control. I would not recommend this center to anyone looking for a supportive, understanding, and client-focused recovery environment. If your goal is success in life and to recover, I would avoid this facility at all costs.

Bed Bugs.🤮 It was awesome at first. Then the facade faded & masks slipped. A lot of the Staff were great but many were completely unqualified for such a mature & heavy situation/subject matter like Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking Survivors etc. They didn't seemed skilled at that at all. Or even Counseling really. Not sure if they have degrees in Counseling or Nursing? I left early, without a single counseling session & WITHOUT Housing like they advertise. The TOOK my Service Dog & kept her through the Thanksgiving holiday, based on threats & ridiculous LIES & actually what another woman has just done. I needed her with me! They kept her away for 10 days as I watched other Clients' pet dogs pee on the carpets & their owners totally disregarding any of the rules! Only a couple of nights after my Service Dog was taken away for no reason, I absolutely believe someone broke into my keypad-locked bedroom, drugged me - possibly from the common kitchen food (?) ... & physically assaulted me. I woke up around 3am in excruciating pain & could barely stand or walk on my left leg. I spent the next 4 days limping, in severe pain, trying to muster through. And no Staff talked to me about it as they saw me limp by??? Oddly silent. I had serious problems with Stalkers going in, 1 in particular, and to think that person was able to get into my numerically locked private room, while INSIDE a "Women's Domestic Violence Shelter" that is a fortress with locks on every door & cameras everywhere AND gated, locked fences etc. is terrifying. I & my dog were/are traumatized because of what happened to us at "Peace House". I keep hearing similar stories of other women who have stayed there. They need to absolutely change their advertising from a "Woman's Domestic Violence Shelter" because it is not. Not qualified. More of a halfway house for druggies & alcoholics. I absolutely do NOT recommend sending any loved one here.

I had an extremely negative experience with Nicholas Call. I booked with him after leaving a treatment center, where I got sober and was able to stabilize. I was hoping to work with Nick on addressing trauma that led me to using in the first place. I was immediately put off. I shared some of my story with him and he immediately went into telling me that I seem to “need control” when it comes to my treatment. He went on to claim that a mental health diagnosis I’ve had for 11 years is incorrect… after having known me for 10 minutes. He made untrue claims about my family and seemed more interested in pushing his agenda than actually listening to me. I felt very unheard and uncomfortable throughout the entire session. I almost walked out but decided to push through the discomfort and give him a change. He then jumped immediately into doing trauma work with me in the very first session instead of building rapport and making sure I felt comfortable with him. I left the session feeling like I was pushed into something I wasn’t ready for and a few weeks later I’m still feeling uncomfortable. I feel like my trauma symptoms were actually worsened during this session. For some context, I’m a sexual assault survivor and have been pushing myself to see male therapists to help rebuild trust in men and work through my fear of them. I genuinely feel this session set me back. I debated posting this review but wanted to share my experience to help caution others wanting to book with him. I’m sure he’s the right therapist for some, but definitely not for me.

Next level is a great treatment and Sober Living properties program, I have been with them since end of 2022 and still reside there in a Management position. The staff is great. Well respected and very helpful to the clients. Helping others overcome there addiction and behaviors is amazing. Times get tough but the Management is always behind to make things better. I know without Next level I'm not sure exactly what my life would be. They have help me grow in so many ways..

For many years I have avoided making any comments about this facility online just because I did not want to relive that experience, but unfortunately I attended Discovery Ranch/Academy around 16 years ago. A horrible and traumatic facility at the least, with the staff members being extremly prejudiced which I assume have not changed. Your so called educational director obviously is not informed about current academic record policies in which the school you have graduated from has to directly send your transcripts to the college that you are applying to. ROSANNA WEEKS sent the records to the school I applied to only after I emailed her about 5 times and sent many voicemails. I have a bachelors in Education from my birth country, Turkey and I worked in education for some years but never in my life have I dealt with such unprofessional and incompetent personnel.

These people are con artists. I went in and rescheduled an appointment. And then lied to my face when I showed up. Saying that they had no record of the appointment. And saying that it was scheduled for someone else. I hope they go out of business. Bear River health department. Offer's the same service and will take insurance even for Court ordered evaluations. These people should be ashamed of their behavior. Because of them I've been set back two months on my Court ordered therapy. I honestly hope they go out of business.

Yesterday I went to the Reciving Center in 1175 E 300 N, Provo, UT 84606 because I am in desperate need for medications to control my mood swings. They were very kind to me, but told me they did not have a psychiatrist on duty at the time and that I had to go to the Wasatch Westpark Family Clinic at 11:30 AM if I was to get any help. They even sent an email on my behalf to Westpark telling them about the severity of my situation and that I would be coming.

The front desk people are some of the least professional people I’ve never had the pleasure of working with. They are impossible to reach by phone, never respond to voicemails, and when I told them they never sent over the thing they requested, they told me they’ve tried several times already. I check every email, spam folder, voicemails daily and they have never once tried reaching out. They are extremely unfriendly and one of the girls has a terrible attitude and she probably only got the job because her mom works there because I heard her say, “MOM” once when she needed something. The front desk people were single-handedly responsible for my declining mental health because I interacting with them caused me so much stress and anxiety and I had to spend so much time with them and billing to resolve a billing issue. I asked them for an itemized bill, $100 out of the $400 that they said I owed magically disappeared from the bill and they never addressed it even when I asked. Don’t go here. I never leave bad reviews but I have never hated a staff or organization as much as these people. My therapist finally left to a different practice so I am happy to say I will never be going back.

I have always enjoyed and appreciated my experience at Suncrest.

We had a foster child in our care and ELISA LEARY was their therapist. She knew nothing of the case even going to the meetings she still would give them the wrong information. She would tell them that they were going back with their mom no matter what, even when it started to become apparent that they might not be reunited with their mom. This caused behaviors in our home that we almost could not handle. Because they thought if they were going back with mom, there were no consequences for behaviors in our home. She would never answer their questions about what if they didn’t go back with their mom. The case ended that they did not go back with mom and they were not prepared for this outcome. The child even said in their own words that they knew what to say to manipulate her. The child was not happy with her and neither were my husband and I. She was very rude to me during our foster case and sessions with our child. This woman should not be a therapist to foster children.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Utah?
When comparing providers in Utah, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Utah?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Utah?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Utah providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Utah providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
