This instructor was knowledgeable But very hard to work with she was rude. It was like walking on eggshells try to get through the class . Miss Starsky would kick you out of class for the smallest thing. For example, we were an hour into the class. I asked for a short break and she got all pissed off and cut me out of the class. I had to use the restroom.. she brags about Being in the penitentiary twice and only do three years on a 20 year sentence like we care she cusses all the time if I didn’t need the certificate I would definitely tell her where to go. I’m too old to put up with her crap.. Other than that, Miss Lillian Polo Is super nice very caring and understanding.

My daughter had her appointment today 07/24/2023 at 10:30 a.m the door are close, we called them no answer. What kind of business are this, this Center should not be playing with the patient. This is not a professional Center, they don't take serious the patient, this Communication Mental Center should not even open, there are not professional.

I had been at this office for about a year when my dr left to a new practice. After, I chose to stay only because while my old dr was there I never really had any issues (Now thinking back that was mostly due to my dr knowing me well and always made herself available to me) So I was placed with Ms. Ruiz, a nice practitioner. It was very hard to get an appointment because she only worked 4 days out of the month and mostly on the weekend. So I had to accommodate her schedule being that she was the only one on staff, so I was told. On my supposed 2nd appointment with her the staff said my appointment would be on Thursday around 6ish. Well I waited the whole 6ish hour for my text to join the telemed never got it. So I checked my emails nothing. The procedure before my appointments has always been a text about 30 mins before to give me info for my telemed. So the next day was a friday, I called and spoke to the Office manager. She had a very "oh well" attitude when I let her know I never spoke to the practitioner and I needed medication refills. She said its the holidays and I would have to wait till after Christmas to speak to Ms.Ruiz. How does an office that works with mentally ill people so blatantly not care for my mental wellbeing or see the emergency in not having meds over the holidays!?! A day or so later I did get an email but not to reschedule my appointment but to pay a $75 no show fee for the telemed I never had. I called again and even though I was told the owners would be notified about the appointment misshap and the fee, I received yet another email requesting payment on that same appointment. I'm no longer with this particular office and since have found an amazing Dr. I wanted to say that I pray it's an isolated incident but it wasn't and hopefully Ms. Ruiz doesnt get a bad rating due to the faults of the staff. All I can say is best of luck to yall

They won't give you results from drug assessment and drug test but can give it to a case worker but only after you give them consent to. How's that make any sense? They also tried lying about my drug test results and changed it once I said I'd have my blood drawn that same day elsewhere. Very shady and untrustworthy people. You've been warned.

I made an appointment and requested it be virtual and somehow my appointment time came and went and I didn’t not receive any communication from the office…after I called them they finally called me HOURS after my scheduled appointment. The next day I discovered the medication that I was prescribed was not covered by my insurance I requested to be prescribed an alternative or a generic and was never contacted by the office. I left multiple messages all of which were documented by the 3rd party and never received a call back. In my opinion if you’re serious about your mental health…choose a different place.

Title: Clear Communication and Care Coordination Needed I want to share my experience with Aspire Hospital regarding a loved one. When I first called to verify their medication list, the nurse was unclear, and the doctor never returned my call. I was reaching out because the patient’s behavior was concerning, potentially dangerous, and appeared worse than when they first arrived. The patient was later transferred to Conroe Emergency due to tremors, but the hospital reported that all tests came back normal. The next day, the patient ended up in the Methodist Emergency Room because their arms were flailing uncontrollably, their legs were swollen, and they were experiencing severe head pain. Finally, I was able to speak with the caseworker at Methodist Hospital, who said she could not obtain the full medication list and that Aspire had not allowed the patient to return. Once the team—including the caseworker, the nurse who confirmed the diagnosis, the pharmacy, and Dr. Heran, a knowledgeable psychiatrist who clearly explained the best next steps—coordinated a transfer to Kingwood Pines, the patient began to stabilize and communicate more clearly. I want to emphasize that I am sharing this to inform, not to harm. At one point, when I called because the patient sounded worse and spoke with the nurse, the doctor contacted a family member, reportedly due to concerns about potential legal issues. I did not fully understand this action, but it added confusion during an already stressful time. Overall, this experience highlights the critical importance of clear communication and coordination between hospital staff, caseworkers, and family members during urgent situations.

Dr. Desai prescribed all the wrong things for my daughter for 5 months. We ended up taking her to the ER and then a psychiatric care facility in Houston where they fixed her diagnoses and her medications the first day! She is so much better now after being home for just 2 weeks! Dr. Desai did NOT do a proper psych evaluation on her in the beginning, he just asked her some questions in front of me and then prescribed, leaning on what a therapist had thought. He also never saw me or my husband alone to talk about my teenage daughter's behavior and mental health issues. You would be better off finding a good psychiatrist from a psychiatric care facility in Houston, one who has real world experience helping patients with mental health issues, and just go to that psychiatrist's office directly. Most do virtual appointments and Dr. Desai is never present in his office anyway but does virtual on a computer in a room only on Mondays. You don't have to go to a crappy psychiatrists just because you live in a small town. It was hard to get booked or even get through on the phone to Dr. Desai's office. Thanks for nothing, Dr. Desai! Worst 5 months of our lives! If you or someone you love is dealing with mental health issues, I recommend you go to a psychiatrist who works at a psychiatric care facility. It is not as bad as you think and you are going to be okay. Ask for a full psychological evaluation and don't take a therapist or counselor's unofficial diagnosis. They CANNOT diagnose. Go to a psychiatrist practicing in a real psychiatric care facility who also is seeing patients in an office. They have better mental health care now days and it will be alright for you soon. You are going to be okay.

Its a clear example of just how great the need for help in our community is.... Hope these feedback will give them a chance to make the necessary improvement that's needed it.

This place is an absolute JOKE.. the front desk lady has worked there for almost 30 years and still acts like it's her first time on the damn job! She is horrible at scheduling appointments, she gives you information on appt and then forgets she even told you anything, with limitation places for mental health to get assistance at, it's heartbreaking to know that you have to put up with the BS like this with people as irresponsible as this, this place uses to be a decent place, it has gone to complete crap. It's no wonder there are so many people dealing with mental health issues. I hope they get they're crap together sometime and go back to when they actually helped people. Until then, good luck to all of us uninsured people out here.

Dr osata overdosing meds causing kidney issues because I wasn't given a required test for ADHD ADD OCD. When diagnosed by 2 other firms getting proper medication from new doc and different meds from mhdd they wanted me to leave. It's NOT AGAINST THE LAW GETTING A DIFFERENT MED REQUIRED FROM ANOTHER DOCTOR IF NOT GETTING ONE FROM YOUR DOCTOR. NOW being on stress therapy Kerrville mhdd heads told new Braunfels mhdd to pull me off, at the highest stress in my life, necessary meds making me go into severe withdrawal and suicidal depression. Myself having gone to college for psychology knows you can't do that and especially without justification trying to substitute with psychosis meds, again no justification for, med bottle stating FOR PSYCHOSIS which proven there is none and ignored the proof of such as well as finding out the meds, which I refused, them knowing risks, could cause my terminal illnesses to worsen and possibly killing me!! No hallucinating, no imagining things, them knowing I was stating facts still being denied my necessary meds being without suffering stress and now dying rapidly faster. Now it's believed they may have a part in Comal County Legal System corruption I reported having 30000 plus pics, documentation and witnesses and being highly persecuted for with Investigator stating attempted murder/murder charges added to all responsible including suicide for lack of help and being pushed to. Proof in Washington DC now. Still looking for my kidnapped cat being certified service animal. Tiger/calico orange mark at left head, red collar white flea collar. Gone 10/20. I have cancer, stg 4 kidney, full nervous system and brain damage, autoimmune disease gone wild stress induced narcolepsy for days and now possibly esophageal cancer findings mhdd could have helped with anything from the beginning 12/21 and never offered helping me die homeless and alone going through everything by myself. I went to mhdd new Braunfels Tx.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Texas?
When comparing providers in Texas, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Texas?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Texas?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Texas providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Texas providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
