The women at this office responsible for answering phones consistently demonstrate a lack of customer service skills, situational awareness, and effective communication. This creates a frustrating experience for individuals who are genuinely trying to do the right thing and must interact with this department. Issues are frequently handled incorrectly or without sufficient knowledge, and callers often receive different answers to the same questions depending on who they speak with. Overall, the department would benefit greatly from updated and comprehensive training, including customer service best practices, job-specific knowledge, and clear procedural guidance to ensure accuracy, consistency, and professionalism.

If you want help this is the place to go . I was the first one here when they opened . And I have to say it felt like a home not like a rehab place. They treat you like a Person not like a patient. Three great meals a day and activities to keep you busy. They are here to help you realize that you are a person and you can overcome whatever is holding you down. And as for the staff they were on point very help full . I felt that they weren't here just to work but to help and support. Now that lm leaving I realize that everything that they taught me is to continue my wellness in my life to come. So I say thank-you to everyone at the wave.

I have used this service two times in the past and they do a great job matching clients with therapists. I was satisfied with both counselors that I had in the past.

Yes, in that county it maybe excellent, but in Columbia, Cayce, and Orangeburg, South Carolina where, MHA are managing low-income housing…it is not. The MHA staff retaliate, provoke and patronize the tenants, knowing the tenants have mental problems. And this all occurs when tenants request serious repairs. Or the property managers blame a new tenant for repairs that were never properly fixed from the last two or three occupants who lived there before. They want tenants to wait for months for serious repairs, so they avoid service fee(s) to receive bonus at the end of the year. MHA should be investigated for multiple reasons. They appear to be living on the misery of people who suffer from mental illness.

They NEVER answer their phone. Kara Gay's nurse specifically. I've had to wait months to get a call back, trying to get access to my adhd medication and even my antidepressant meds. I figured out I have to call the front desk to get on her ass, and then all of a sudden I'll hear back from her. Front desk is inconsistent too. The psychiatrist was fine, but if you don't want to have to worry about going through withdrawal symptoms, I would go through a more reliable office.

I don't remember how I found them. I imagine it was not an accident because I've had nothing but great experiences since I started coming here following the suicide of my only child. From your first interaction on the phone to your checkin to your physician, everyone shows their deep empathy, patience, and care. Dr. Renee treats me like I am the only patient, truly. When I write on the app, I receive a helpful response every time. The office is a little father away than I'd like, but that is fate that I found this office when I lost my daughter in March. It is worth the drive to see the good people who work here helping others.

I love this psychiatry office. The staff is understanding when I was late for my appointment due to traffic jam on the highway and was able to squeeze me in on my appointment which I was greatly appreciative for because I needed to see the doctor that day and he is super nice his name is Dr Doucet. I highly recommend him as your psychiatrist he is very attentive, patient, and kind. And also he's not just trying to get you in and out of the office he takes his time with you and make sure he covers all the basics and all your concerns to help control your thoughts, your life, and your surroundings. I highly recommend them!!!

I can't really give a rating, since I haven't used their services. I was there to photograph the property for a client who was involved with building the project. But during my experience, the staff I met were very nice. The property is clean and well maintained. And it has a lot of cool amenities and beautiful landscaping.

I admit I got put out of one program yet they won't allow me to attend a totally different program concerning a totally different issue but one monkey don't stop the show . Let that be known and by the way , the director is very rude and unprofessional and I'm not just saying that bc I got put out. In saying that from dealing with her . Everyone else was polite and professional.

I dont like this new medication that I am on. My anxiety is threw the roof since I can barely hear my voices. Not even enough to understand them. My paranoia is worsen since they are omitted. They let me know that everything is okay. The guard me while I sleep, awake me when I am in danger, and their my intuition. I di t trust no body or myself , my own gut , without them. I can't sleep hardly at all. With out knowing that they guard me at night. I am terrified of almost everyone because they warn me about bad ppl and tell me about good ppl. I need my voices back. I need my spirits. This clinic and doctors only care about their treatment plan. Not what I am okay with and what makes me feel happy and safe. They are omitting my own soul from me. I have had these my whole life and they are a part of who I am and help me with daily life tasks. Its like bearing a child then having it ripped away from you. How dare you all. Their my only friends, family , and are apart of my soul. Do you all even care about that? What i am okay and happy with? Either way I cant work. I dont understand what you are all trying to do to me!!

My niece has been going through a tough time lately, and unfortunately, she ended up stuck in the system. But I'm so relieved to have found this team! Their small group home sounds like exactly what she needs. It's more like a supportive environment than a big institution, which feels so much better. Here's what makes me think it is a perfect fit:

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in South Carolina?
When comparing providers in South Carolina, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in South Carolina?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in South Carolina?
Yes. Mental Health US includes South Carolina providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all South Carolina providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
