I would give zero stars if I could. Absolute trainwreck of a clinic-- they made me switch my insurance and primary care just so that I could see my psychiatrist that relocated to Prism, only for my first assigned PCP to promptly quit followed by the psychiatrist I came for.

Unlike some. I am willing to actually share my experience and provide uncomplicated facts. Weird how people who have the least to say decide to review things, and instead of giving honest and constructional feed back they decide to throw up alphabet soup on here in a attempt to sound like they have any credibility or something more then a fart between their ears.

I can’t say enough good things about Michael Crose. Going through a DUI intake isn’t exactly something you look forward to, but Michael made the experience feel human. From the start, he was easy to talk to; genuine, respectful, and clearly someone who cares about people, not just paperwork. He made me feel comfortable, never judged, and even found ways to bring some lightness into a heavy situation. It might sound small, but when we starting going off about sparkling water he mentioned his love for watermelon Waterloo, felt like I was talking to a real person, not just a counselor checking boxes. He treats you with compassion and makes sure you understand every step of the process. Keep kicking ass, and thanks for making something I thought was going to be stressful.. not!

I couldn't be happier with this program for my dual diagnosis grandson. The level of staffing was great. The staff were very responsive. They actively involved our family. My grandson had treatment several times every day. The facilities were beautiful and they had so many options for activities to burn off energy. My grandson had his own room rather than a dorm. That was very helpful. He learned tools to deal with his trauma and tools to help keep sober. He was always treated kindly and with respect. They had rules in place to control teen drama. He always had a staff person to talk to. I was always kept informed. He said the food was good too. They helped set up a contract for home and set him up with all his follow up resources. Both of those things were incredibly helpful. They were very patient with my total lack of technology skills 🤣😂.I feel confident my grandson will do well, thanks to all their help.

Did one psych assessment adjusted one medication then at second appointment was a phone call which ended by 6 minutes saying I was being let go from psych services through lifeworks due to "being to high acute" yet never given explanation what this meant or where I should go with being told by psych provider "I don't case manage". My family was super disappointed by this and called to voice this and ended up talking to manager of company. The psychiatrist was supposed to provide in writing explanation of why they couldn't treat me and why I was/am to high acute. Stephanie Parker is my therapist there for now but even she voiced feeling like she can't best serve me there but did better than psych provider by far. Do not recommend this company to anyone seeking mental health services. Better companies I would recommend are st charles, DCBH, bestcare, etc

My experience with VOA Drug Treatment Center was extremely negative, and I would not recommend it to anyone seeking real help or support. From the beginning, I felt like the focus was not on patient care or recovery, but on control and questionable practices. One of the most troubling aspects was how clients’ food stamp (EBT) cards were handled. In my experience, there was very little transparency about how those benefits were being used. It felt uncomfortable and raised serious concerns about whether clients were truly receiving the full benefit of the assistance meant for them. This alone made me question the integrity of the program. The staff attitude made things even worse. Many employees came across as indifferent, dismissive, and at times outright uncaring. Instead of feeling supported during a vulnerable time, I often felt ignored or treated like just another number. There was a lack of compassion and professionalism that you would expect from a facility that claims to help people rebuild their lives. The overall environment felt disorganized and discouraging. Communication was poor, concerns were not taken seriously, and it didn’t feel like a place focused on genuine recovery. It felt more like going through the motions rather than actually helping people improve. If you or a loved one are looking for treatment, I strongly urge you to carefully research other options. Based on my experience, this is not a place where I felt respected, supported, or truly cared for.

I found EVERYONE at the OHSU Avel Gordly Center for Healing to be helpful, professional and skilled. The Doctors at the Center helped me during my worse times as I challenged the open discrimination I faced as an Oregon educator working in a school district. I will be forever grateful for their dedication and to the staff for the healing I experienced. Thank you specifically to Dr. Lott and Dr. Moreland for insightful and supportive sessions and to staff members that processed and helped with appointments. I highly recommend seeking out the Avel Gordly Center for Healing in Portland, OR to move past the damage of workplace discrimination and for a healthier self with a brighter future.

The program is awesome and seemed really helpful and beneficial. Once you have finished though you don't mean anything to them. The aftercare support you might need is non existent. I went into the program needing medication management and help with stabilization. And now they've kicked me to the curb and I've lost my medication again. I'll find a way to keep myself safe but just know that they will not.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Oregon?
When comparing providers in Oregon, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Oregon?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Oregon?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Oregon providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Oregon providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
