I had to come multiple times before getting seen due to long waits for people ahead of me and I live 40 mins away so I would of liked to not have to keep coming so far, they could use more councilors or something. Also they didn’t even bring me into her office I seen her over a tablet which easily could have just been done from my house and it was kinda irritating to finally get seen and it be that way. I don’t like opening up about my personal details over anything digital that anyone can easily hack or record anyway and it only made me uncomfortable and inattentive and uninterested in full participation in the assessment

If I could give 10 stars I would!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I started seeing Deborah S. a couple months ago , & I must say , she is the BEST therapist I've had my entire life! 🥰 She makes me feel so validated & heard ! I feel incredibly safe, and I feel I can express my feelings without the need to hide anything! Like finally someone is validating what I've been dealing with my whole life , finally I feel understood in dealing with my mental illnesses that I can't explain to anyone !! She actually gives me some hope !! Which has not been a thing with past experiences... she's always giving me new, important information that no other therapist or doctor ever explained to me!! She actually listens & understands! I'm just super grateful for her, and for A Helping Hand of Wilmington 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you a million times over!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Dr. Bridge at Carolina Psychiatry is exceptional. He creates a warm, welcoming environment and genuinely listens, making me feel comfortable from the start. I found Dr. Bridge to be highly knowledgeable. He took the time to listen and tailored a treatment plan just for me, which has made a real difference in my life. He explains everything clearly and empowers me to take charge of my mental health. I’m so grateful to have found such a compassionate and skilled psychiatrist. Highly recommended as a Washington NC Psychiatrist!

I've been a mental health patient since I was 8 years old, (1978). I've been to a lot of mental health facilities and institutions through our my life. Learning how to best deal with your situation, accepting as well as taking responsibility and how to best manage your life with what ever your condition may be, is very difficult especially if you don't have the perfesional help that knows what they are doing and takes time to get to you and how to best support you and treat your difficult situation. I've never seen as good of a behavioral health clinic or doctors that were as experienced and able to help as this place. They know what they are doing. It's important to have support that you can trust. Support you can safely work with and trust to have the knowledge and experience to work with a difficult situation. You can tell that they understand that you have a difficult situation and need help. Alot of times the patient becomes labeled as difficult and the disease goes untreated. This is a perfesional clinic, you can tell cause they don't confuse the two. I'm so grateful that my primary doctor referred me me to this clinic.

This facility truly fills in the gaps in mental health care. I took my family member who was in acute mental distress but didn't need the ER. First the front office was extremely friendly male employee who took the time to point us yo the right side of the building. We were further greeted by the two most professional employees. Who understood the nuances of dealing with a person in crisis. From the moment we arrive at Monarch we were warmly greeted. This facility doesn't intensify the stress during a very stressful time.

Dr. Deana is an amazing doctor! She cares about her patient's mental health and their well-being as a whole. She makes her self-available even if you don't have an appointment. I actually sent her an email in the middle of having and panic attack and an anxiety attack at the same time. she called me immediately and talked me down to calm. That is impressive on so many levels. I just want her to know that I'm grateful and very appreciative of her kindness and care for me. She truly is an angel from GOD sent to me helping me put the pieces of my life together. Thank you, Dr Deana!

Morse Clinic has had a major part to play in my recovery and that I am almost 4 yrs sober. Their team has always been kind and warm and made me feel seen and heard. My counselor Mia is the best. I have been going here for a few years now and they are absolutely amazing. I have nothing but great things to say about them. I’ve been on MAT for over 10 years and in that time have been with many other providers and this is the first one that I can honestly say they’ve always made me feel so accepted, I never have felt judged and that includes the office staff they are the kindest people and they truly care about their patients. Not only that but they’re also helping me to get off of my MAT with the injection form and I never thought that would be possible. Thank you southern family medicine for impacting my life and giving me hope!!!

Maybe timing but mostly my counselors approach allowed me to learn about myself. This place made sure I was holding myself accountable. Herb showed me in life we will always have ppl to bring us down if allowed I didn't follow his advice to remove myself from those that used me fast enough but did have life changing experience not long after finishing the class. They focus on getting back and nurturing the healthy relationships through sobriety yet no nonsense to those not using our time appropiately. I can't say enough to reception that let me in to stay warm to director that made herself available. I saw a Dr.here and figured out right meds to take during that situational time in my life. I recommend them.

My name is Katina, and I began therapy with Dr. Richardson eight years ago. To this day, I am still receiving treatment through Integrated Behavioral Management—and I can truly say it changed my life. Before therapy, I was all over the place. I didn’t have direction, and I struggled deeply. Then I met Dr. Richardson, and she became more than a therapist—she was a lifeline for me. From the very beginning, the office showed professionalism, kindness, and a genuine commitment to their patients. But what stood out the most was how Dr. Richardson saw me—not just where I was, but where I could be. She taught me that I have control over my emotions and that I must hold myself accountable for my mental and spiritual health. That lesson alone transformed me. As a former foster child, I’ve had many experiences, but one of my favorite foster moms was named Mrs. Richardson. Some may call it coincidence, but I believe what’s meant for you will always find its way to you. And there she was—Dr. Richardson, a former foster parent herself—someone who truly understood. With her guidance, patience, and unwavering commitment, I came from a dark place into the light. I am beyond grateful to Integrated Behavioral Health for their years of dedication, professionalism, and, most importantly, their heart for the community. They didn’t just help me—they helped me become a better version of myself.

Well I had a good experience at mayrx and was a few days away from completing and I had a few appointments due to having a broke ankle that I had to attend and then I got sick and they discharged me Ama which is pretty unethical in my opinion. I had doctor notes from the orthopedic doctor and also from the hospital stating that I had a infection and needed excused for 3 days and before I could present it I get a call saying I have been discharged ama. I had already moved out of the sober living into a new sober house and have been working so I think it was just a way for them to clear the space and get me out of there. However I would never recommend them to anyone after being done the way I was.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in North Carolina?
When comparing providers in North Carolina, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in North Carolina?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in North Carolina?
Yes. Mental Health US includes North Carolina providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all North Carolina providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
