TERRIBLE front desk/reception. Just rude, unprofessional and unpleasant. Frank and Maggie make it worth it though… Just have to add .. Cheyenne.. like terrible. I’ve come a year PLUS NOW. Terrible reception. And she:. Has a way of making the unseen feel exactly that. Not indicative to any kind of recovery.

Access Support for living has been a huge impact in my crazy life and I would like to publicly acknowledge them and some people because they probably don't get the credit they deserve or people probably don't know who they are. My Care manager Patsy and her supervisor Diana have helped me in the past few years with some of the hardest days of my life. They're trained professionals in the occupation of helping mentally ill patients or probably anyone who needed help with certain things that can overwhelm people. Example mental health, counseling, housing, insurance, food stamps, advocating for you when you feel you need more support behind you. Without them I'd lose my mind and there's no words or anything I can do to really relay the grafication I have for them and the agency at 21 grand Street in Newburgh NY. Without them I wouldn't have gotten out of positions I put myself in or get further ahead in life even though the process is slow it's better to have a team you can count on and I always admit to them I'm a handful but so thankful they are so professional and still want to help me even if I come off as a jerk sometimes or most times I'll be honest. Mha is the alternative agency and I've heard so many complaints by people that the care managers never call you back or even guide you to make your life better. I wish I could do something to show appreciation and this isn't enough because how many people Read this. Anyway reach out to them if you need assistance in life desicions and housing because if they're acting at being nice and not genuine they need Grammys because I couldn't tell. It's a Job you have to love everyday not just a paycheck. Without Patsy in the past 2 years I'd be completely lost and not ever thinking I'd have a future. So thanks ladies and if you need care management go do an intake with access support for living. Hopefully she doesn't get upset I praised them like this but I don't care I gotta show appreciation for what it is and deserved. They have so many things to help people get there lives back on track.

Worst experiance ever. The lack of interest applied into getting the kids treated is phenomenal. And I'm not just speaking from this one encounter. You would think that with the mental health deterioration of our young children a medical facility would be more readily available for treatment. If a family member walks through these doors a child should be seen. Maybe just maybe these kids would stop popping off and killing others and walking into schools and shooting others. Disgusting the lack of empathy shame on you Astor.

Today, I once again had an excellent encounter with Esméralda, Dr. Martinez's patient care front desk staff. She is such a professional! I've been unsuccessfully trying to get an appointment for a special test. She immediately got on the phone with the radiology office and secured an appointment for me. And the next thing she did for me brought tears to my eyes. Dr Martinez is a very sought out doctor and you have to wait months for an appointment. After telling her the urgency I had for my son to get an immediate appointment, she warned me I would have wait until March but then she said, "let me just check his schedule throughly first". Well she found a sooner appointment for him! SHE GOES WELL BEYOND ANY CUSTOMER CARE PERSON I KNOW! Below is the interaction I had with her last year!

A. while back I called and left messages 3 times over a week and no call back. Then I called and left the message for one of the doctors. The next day I got a nasty call back from reception telling me that they weren't accepting new patients. THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!

Very little effort or care given to patients. Upon missing appointments (that you don't get reminders for) they cancel your services, leaving you unmedicated and blocking you from further help for at least 60 days. What if I snap because I don't have the meds THEY PRESCRIBED ME? Terrible organization, literally only there to collect payments from insurance . They don't care about your well being. I recommend ReMIND in Olean. Wonderful staff, periodic reminders for appointments, as well as offering telehealth or in person visits. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this office at all costs

5 stars because of Erica Southwood. Someday she is going to get credit for being a major part in healing schizophrenia disorders. Jesus is Lucifer the Morning Star. Moses warned Israel that eventually they would get fat and lose their way and that they would go and worship new 'gods" that no one ever heard of. That is exactly what happened to religion, and what caused splits in people's minds. Believing lies and getting confused is one of the causes of schizophrenia, and hearing the truth can and will heal minds. I love Erica to the Moon and back. And I am Brandon Warren, and I am still fighting schizophrenia in Florida because bad bad people will not stop putting the Evil Eye upon those of us that belong to the Kingdom of the Most High.

It’s absolutely unacceptable to schedule intake appointments, and on the day of the appointment the patient finds out all intakes had been canceled and was given no notice. Cancelling without notice to the emotionally unstable and mentally ill is incredibly dangerous. Shame on you, you’re going to get someone hurt.

FLACRA YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOINGGGGG YOU GUYS ARE SCAMMERS UR WORKERS DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE DONT EVER go here seriously worst place ever if i could give it 0 stars i would matter fact i’d give it -5 stars I went here to get an evaluation for probation and as u can see in the photo it says I do not need counseling, next thing you know these people are hounding my phone calling me 3 TIMES while i’m at work trying to set me up with a therapist when it clearly states I don’t need individual therapy they claimed that was not their protocol and they also couldn’t even pull up the note that stated i didn't need it in THEIR FILES I had to go out my way and but my probation officer ti get the note back then the lady there still pushed to have me try and do therapy over the phone. 🤣🤣 The two people I seen there were extremely awkward people it almost feels weird talking to them and they are therapists it’s like they don’t even know what to say and let me go ahead and save u before they recommend you to a group counseling session which I thought I would try because it couldn’t be that bad well it was HORRIBLE they treat u like a child, talk to u like a baby it’s the most uncomfortable environment for mental health treatment tbh save yourself the time and do not come here!!!! also the lady who is always at the front desk is incompetent and has no clue what she’s talking about or doing she’s always all over the place like she’s on something I should’ve looked it up before I went as they already have a 2 star review soon to be a 1

DO NOT GO- Disappointing experience — complete lack of cost transparency My wife and I visited this practice after developing flu-like symptoms. We are both healthy, active young professionals with no underlying conditions and no elevated risk factors, which is relevant context given the treatment decisions that followed. The doctor examined us both and suggested our symptoms were likely consistent with COVID-19. When we asked about the cost of the recommended test before proceeding, we received no clear answer — neither from the doctor nor the staff. To this day, we still have no idea what that test cost us. The lack of transparency did not stop there. Without waiting for a confirmed positive result, the doctor prescribed Paxlovid — Pfizer's antiviral medication — to both of us as a precautionary measure. Once again, when we asked about the price before filling the prescription, no answer was provided. It was only at the pharmacy counter that we learned the cost: over $1,300 per person. To summarize our experience: we left the practice having agreed to both a test and a prescription without ever receiving a straight answer on what either would cost. For two low-risk patients with unconfirmed diagnoses, being prescribed one of the most expensive medications on the market without any prior cost discussion is, frankly, unacceptable. Patients deserve to make informed decisions, and that includes financial ones. We hope this practice takes cost transparency seriously going forward, as this experience has significantly undermined our trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in New York?
When comparing providers in New York, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in New York?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in New York?
Yes. Mental Health US includes New York providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all New York providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
