Susan Gripp was going to be my daughter's new therapist. However, I missed the initial appointment due to transportation issues and rescheduled for a day last week. We showed up at the appointment on time, but when I was trying to check in the receptionist said they had us marked down that I canceled the appointment. I DIDN'T . I was then told I would get a call this week to schedule for next week. I didn't get a call so I called their office today. After a brief hold, the lady tells me that Susan has made the decision to part ways due to too many cancelations! I'm absolutely furious and find this extremely ignorant. The place didn't care that I said we never canceled and it was disregarded as a fact. I rescheduled ONE time, never have even spoken to SUSAN and now I have to start looking for another one all over again. She is a MENTAL HEALTH therapist!!! How is delaying my daughter's therapy helpful in that area? I feel sorry for her other patients and it goes to show that most EVERYTHING, especially in this incident, is all about the mighty dollar and that's the most important issue in the big picture.

Secretary was rude and condescending. Closed window on my wife with a quiet baby then proceeded to roll eyes and whisper how some people shouldn't have kids. Month wait to do video conference with a psychiatrist, forget about a face to face.

Was treated poorly when rescheduling my appointment. The person was rude and acted like she was put out. This is a place for people with mental health issues, it should be a place of understand and empathy. Not rudeness.

Choice's staff were unorganized and had poor communication. No one could answer questions or concerns of mine throughout the program, and staff failed to provide updates regarding the program as I progressed. The program is very expensive for those who self pay, and when I voiced my dissatisfaction with the treatment I was provided, rather than offering a logical solution, they told me to go somewhere else. I feel that for over $1000 a month, they should be more willing to work with someone who is seeking treatment for alcohol and depression. Would not recommend.

This place only cares about Medicaid dollars. That’s it. My boyfriend has a been a patient there for 90 days on the adult side! His discharge date is tomorrow. I asked if gets a completion certificate and his therapist said no he will be discharged unsuccessfully. I asked why? She said cuz we don’t have the money to pay up front costs for a 3/4 way house and he can’t go cuz he is unsuccessful at nova. She lied and told him 2 weeks ago and said Medicaid would pay for his stay at a 3/4 way house. And she also said that Medicaid also only paid for 60 days at nova! When before you even enter they want to know how you will fund your stay at nova? Nova had to have prior authorization from Medicaid to guarantee payment of services. If Medicaid only paying for 60 days at nova and he’s discharging at day 90 then how was the other 30 days paid for? They knew before he came in what Medicaid was gonna pay and for how long. And they told him his Medicaid ran out 2 weeks ago and they didn’t know when his last day would be. Knowing full well how much Medicaid was paying before he was admitted! He completed everything they asked him to do including the assignments from his therapist. And according to his treatment plan! And he won’t get a certificate cuz he can’t pay to go into 3/4 sober living? Also my boyfriend was there on his own. Not court ordered and no parole and no probation orders! Nova needs an overhaul and I would not recommend this place to anyone! I understand their way of doing things. But when someone completes short term inpatient residential and don’t get their certificate of completion cuz of their therapists views then nova needs to re evaluate its therapists and practices. Just my thoughts!

Been going here before it was this name.First appointment was in 2001...It's moved several times until settling here.. It's was the only place that I could even consider with no insurance...Help with samples or even free meds through the pharmacy companies... I'm old and poor so now have government insurance... Never considered changing.. Been though several health providers..some great..some I'd consider dying before seeing that one again..My last doctor left..he suggested another one..Best be ready for a fast appointment..got in a couple of hours after calling.. Before I got a hip replacement I relied on a friend to get be there also dressing my feet.. often needing more time to check with her before getting in so soon..I keep losing bits and bobs to skin cancer..Last appointment with my old doctor was to introduce me to the person that he recommended..of course it was skin cancer again.. certainly it's not going away magically.... popped in for some lab.. getting my flu shot here soon.. haven't really needed anything else so prefer to not go.. I've been fine with the new person...just can't complain..most importantly trust in whoever you seen takes time...I trusted my last doctor so I still trust his opinion

Their were absolutely no services they could provide for my family that we hadn't already gotten ourselves. This whole department had no resources to provide to my son or my family. Why are they even recommended? Zoom calls for mentoring services in which the mentors themselves need mentors on how to interact with young adults ... I am very disappointed and everything disappointed in every service that was suggested just did even in a time of the pandemic if they are unable to fulfill any of the services or recommendations or needs that they offer to a family then they should state they should state that this was a complete waste of our time

I brought my 4 year old here for therapy. During their session they had a meltdown. The therapist recommended I go get my car from upstairs. While I was getting my car she grabbed my child under their arms so hard it left them with bruises and screaming. They are still traumatized from this event. They should not be touching children at all! Steer clear!

DO NOT SEND SOMEONE HERE terrible management horrible service had a patient go missing because they were "under staffed" no excuse for letting someone with a mental disability not being able to survive alone in the outside world, and for them to just let them walk out and not call until 6HOURS later is outrageous. Saved my life during some terrible mental health periods. Everyone I encountered was helpful and friendly. I learned a ton of skills and resources the short time I received outpatient care in both a solo and group setting with my therapist. Her name was Peggy and she taught me how to pull myself out of the darkest places. I recommend to anyone who is struggling and needing care to try out a walk-in triage visit.

I am guardian of an 18 year old boy. He was recommended to rehab by his probation officer. Before this year (2025) I had not heard of an out patient rehab facility for teenagers in Lincoln. I had to send my 18 year old son out of state for a specific program for 18-24 year old. On the one hand I wish there was an age specific out patient for the appropriate seasons of growth (ie 11-13, 14-16, 17-21) but this group of counselors and their team at Imagine worked hard to support and assist my 18 year old ward. I can tell he learned the kind of coping skills my son did out of state at an IP facility and was educated on the importance of mental health as well. I am pleased with the job they did for my ward.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Nebraska?
When comparing providers in Nebraska, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Nebraska?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Nebraska?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Nebraska providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Nebraska providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
