Find Mental Health Providers Across Michigan

This place is a joke! My husband is very happy with his therapist but the so called psychiatrist (whom we've since found out isn't even a psychiatrist) won't listen, won't follow the gene sight testing he did to avoid issues with medication changes and ones that don't work. Says she will call on such and such date and time and then doesn't. He is more depressed now then he was before he started going there. I went to the web site to review other psychiatrist and it only gives me docs in Indiana and Wisconsin. I don't know what to do for him at this point. Good God when someone is in this position they shouldn't have to beg for help. Shame on you!

Ashley Huffman is self absorbed. All she wants to talk about is her cancer. Her office has an offensive odor that will make you nauseous. It was like torture!

My first day at Community Healing Center was the day my life would change forever. Everyone at CHC-Shaffer was amazing, compassionate, smart! Clean for over one year... thank you!

After waiting 21 minutes in the tiny cubby that is provided as a waiting room, listening through the paper thin walls/door to another patient discuss with the doctor the sequence of CPS taking her children away, I cried at my disappointment & left. After doing so, my husband contacted the office to see why I had not even been greeted during the duration of my wait, up until 5 mins after my appointment time, which at that point I left the building. The receptionist was extremely snarky and rude, explained that she had marked down TUESDAY the 29th, even though that DATE fell on a Wednesday - that being said, the day BEFORE my scheduled appointment, they marked me as a no-show, because she had wrote down that Tuesday fell on the 29th, not Wednesday, and left it at that. I waited weeks to be seen, and was really looking forward to the help I’d receive after this appointment. My life has been absolute chaos due to being unmedicated or medicated incorrectly, this was suppose to be my “coming up for air” and instead ended in me leaving their office in tears. I’d never recommend coming here.

Very clean modern facilities. They had a pharmacy which I've only ever seen at two mental health clinics. They had a pop machine and a water fountain to drink from. I like the therapist offices they were very well decorated. Lots of parking, didn't take too long to get me in. They answer their phones. So far so good. The best mental health clinic I've been to so far.

My recent experience at Epic Health on March 27th at 5:40 PM was extremely frustrating. While some might find situations like this entertaining in hindsight, it’s anything but amusing when you’re dealing with health concerns and are met with cold, dismissive treatment. In healthcare, the focus should be on providing care and compassion, but that was definitely not the standard set at this office.

Our experience with New Oakland Family Centers has been truly positive, and a huge part of that is because of Omaira. She has been an incredible therapist for our family—kind, patient, and deeply attentive. Omaira creates a safe and welcoming space where everyone feels heard and supported, and she approaches her work with genuine care and professionalism. Her guidance has made a meaningful difference for us, and we are so grateful for the impact she’s had on our family’s growth and healing. We highly recommend New Oakland Family Centers, and especially Omaira, to any family seeking compassionate and effective support.

At this practice they openly disrespect, mentally abuse and neglect patients. If you actually need mental help keep looking this clinic set me back months. If you care about yourself or loved ones don't do it. This place is absolutely rock bottom and they will not be open long. Westland location.

I've been coming here for weekly therapy for around 1.5 years now and the changes have been incredible. Kristina is fantastic at what she does. They have the best administrative staff of any medical or mental health facility I've been to - they go above and beyond to help out with any financial problems/questions, calling the pharmacy anytime I'm having issues, returning my calls, last minute scheduling changes, and in general are just so welcoming and kind. My only complaint is I have not been as impressed with my psychiatric care - diagnoses are very casually given and never discussed again in the future, my physician is always quite late to our virtual appts (even early in the morning), and appt notes available on MyChart have a significant amount of incorrect information.

I'm giving them 2 stars for their effort, for the donated food, fir the volunteer cooks, for those running the community closet and that they let me back in that community closet a few days later because I never actually got any personal care items from their personal care room when I went in there.

I would love to be the savior and add a 5 star review, unfortunately I can't be that guy. I can however say that there are more positives than other reviewers may lead you to believe. Yes, it is very disheartening with the amount of time it takes to get anything done here let alone get a straight forward answer however with some perseverance the wheels do slowly start turning. I have been able to fulfill my needs here on a regular basis, although I do still run into hiccups frequently. The staff turnover seems to be frequent so I can only imagine that lends itself to trying to run a smooth operation. It also seems a good portion of the staff is either jaded or indifferent to the patients, putting in the minimum effort to get through the day and making you feel like YOU are an inconvenience to them. There are a few that put in genuine effort, when you come across one of them hold on for dear life. The building itself is nice and well kept. I wish there were more good things i could say as for the most part they have addressed my needs but not without adding to my stress level significantly. My advice, come here long before it's a necessity, expect a drawn out wait period with unfounded resistance and fingers crossed they will produce results.

The office staff, the therapist we have now is great. That said, we had a really bad experience with an Adhd Dr named Philip Archer. I'm deaf, and he chose to discriminate against me and my son. This Dr is very, very lazy and won't write a SINGLE WORD! I can't sign American sign language well (due to a bad wrist), I don't understand it well, & I and need things WRITTEN DOWN! I can't lip read either. Do not use this Dr, he's very, very lazy and won't listen to you at all. Now that I know how lazy this Dr is, I'm glad my son doesn't have him for a Dr. Even my teen son couldn't get him to listen. I did file an ADA complaint. Minus 2 stars for the Dr's discrimination.

Does anyone monitor the email address listed here and on the website? Multiple emails sent inquiring about MVF that have gone unanswered.

The therapist I was seeing would talk about herself more then we would talk about me during our sessions. She would even tell me (in detail) about her own traumas. I have significant trauma of my own to deal with. I can hardly handle that trauma. Having to process someone else's problems has really pushed me over the edge. This entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. I felt unheard and unimportant.

The staff especially Russell, Rhonda and Paris and many others we're very smooth and efficient at navigating the newbies through the process. I left feeling 10 years younger and most of all completely clean.

Rude staff

I was here this past summer and received good treatment from many esteemed, qualified, and caring staff. The two activity therapists I worked with, the therapists | had, the main ACT group leaders, and my dietitian were absolutely wonderful. But unfortunately, the upper management/corporate individuals do not care about people. We have groups that teach us assertiveness, advocacy, and how to handle injustice... Then they gaslight clients who stand up for themselves and suddenly fire the best employees out of "budget cuts" (they just hired more people). They also constantly change schedules, groups, etc. so it is not a very stable experience. I am lucky I went when the staff had was still there. But if you go, expect the current program director to dismiss and gaslight you and refuse to be honest. The corporate office cares about money and profit and not healing eating disorders. It is a shame there are not more programs available in West Michigan for IOP/PHP/res.
