My experience so far with MBHC has been extremely positive. My visits are primarily prescription management at this point but I always enjoy my time with Dr Zombil. He’s friendly, attentive, compassionate and in general a very like-able person. Dealing with the office has been equally positive. James is always friendly and helpful and theres never any issue reaching someone during office hours.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Melissa Gleckel at Kennedy Health Center on Tacoma Street, Worcester, for her outstanding care and professionalism. Dr. Gleckel took my concern seriously and worked efficiently to resolve an issue related to my very essential medication. Her attention, knowledge, and genuine care made a stressful situation much easier, and I am truly thankful for her support. I would also like to give special recognition to Medical Assistant Ms. Shila (unfortunately I do not know her last name ), who was absolutely amazing. She was very active, responsive, and supportive in connecting me with the doctor and ensuring everything moved smoothly. Her follow-up and dedication played a crucial role in making sure I received my prescription without unnecessary delay. Thank you both for your compassion, teamwork, and commitment to patient care. You truly make a difference.

Ever since Tracy Leverone left this company has eroded to trash. The new NP was a disappointment, so we my mother found a new PNP elsewhere. I convinced my mom to maintain counseling with Melissa who is fine, not amazing. Melissa has dropped the ball several times on my mom, including today. She’s been concerned and worried all day wondering about her 9am appointment. So finally an hour ago she called to talk to the receptionist who was completely useless and denied my mother even having an appointment. So my mother in frustration said ok fine I guess it’s time to find a new counselor and the receptionist said “ok bye-bye” and hung up. That ridiculous customer service and she deserved better.

Went to ER for shortness of breath and wheezing. Ordered a chest X-ray and forgot about me for 2 hours. My nurse didn't even know I hadn't been to X-ray when I called her. She gave me a lame excuse that X-ray was waiting on my labs. Nice try, X-ray doesn't wait for labs. They did a COVID test when I initially went in and then was going to do another one 10 minutes later because they didn't know I already had one. These people have no idea what's going on and they don't pay attention. Kinda scary when you are there for medical help.

⚠️I wish I could give ZERO stars.. Ill start with this; IYKYK. I was a patient here for 8 years. I can honestly say this place is absolutely HORRIBLE, and would NEVER recommend them to anyone looking to start methadone/Suboxone, or continue their recovery. FIRST OFF, to clarify; No, I am not some disgruntled patient who broke rules, didn't try or care about my recovery, etc. I was a MODEL patient for the entire time I was a patient at Spectrum. I NEVER failed a drug test, I NEVER missed a call back, I NEVER missed a dose- I attended ALL my meetings, and even brought the staff gifts for the Holidays- And yet, the treatment I ultimately received almost cost me my sobriety. I won't go into all the details; If you want them, feel free to reach out. (In the meantime, Google "spectrum health systems lawsuit(s)". Plenty to take a peek at 😉). This place uses people's take home doses as a weapon- making you fight for them (when they are your RIGHT as a patient under both MA law, federal Law AND in their own handbook), and threaten to take them (and often do) for ANY issue. They also threaten you with discharge, or a decrease in your dose, (knowing all too well what happens to a patient who is NOT medically tapered), the list goes on and on.. They have the highest turnover rate in staff I have EVER witnessed in my life. In 8 years, the Southbridge location went through 3 "medical directors", 3 Nurse Practitioners, 5 "clinical directors", 8+ nurses, and COUNTLESS clinicians. Literally, I can't even remember the names of all the clinicians I had. That *should* tell you all you need to know. The place is filthy- I made the mistake (ONCE) of offering to dump the water cooler catch tray (when it said "tray full")- that was it.🤢 The "security guard" (while a nice woman) was NOT qualified to do anything should a situation arise, and she was one of at least 6 or 7 that had come and gone as well. Overall, my last 3 months were the worst. I came to the clinical director with an issue I needed help with. In the end, I asked for a 10mg increase, as I had been on the same dose for 6+ years and had built a tolerance (as expected). Instead of providing it, they made me wait WEEKS AND WEEKS, while they met once per week as a "team" to "discuss" my issues. To start, they took away all 27 of my takehomes (which I'd had for YEARS). Then, they put me back on daily medicating, which was very difficult with my full time job. Finally, they made me drive 50+ mins to the Lincoln st clinic every Sunday, as they wouldn't even provide me with a single closure takehome for the day they were closed. And after all that, sill NO increase. I ended up writing them (the coordinator, medical director, and Nurse Practitioner) a 7 page letter detailing ALL of my time at the clinic, and outlining the help I needed, along with referencing all applicable MA & federal laws & statutes regarding prescribing methadone. I also brought up the point that their "Nurse Practitioner", who is directly in charge of prescribing methadone to all patients, has NO background, experience or education in addiction medicine, prescribing methadone, etc. As a result, I ended up loosing my job, a job that I had just started- that I worked SO hard for; as daily dosing interfered with my schedule. In the end, instead of trying to help, the coordinator simply suggested that I should "find a new clinic". So I did. That was in October of 2024. In closing, if you are serious about your recovery, PLEASE do your research. Look into the company, reach out to former (or present) patients, as this place is NOT interested in helping anyone. They line their pockets VERY well, treat patients like inmates, and have NO business running a methadone clinic whatsoever. I am now at a new clinic, and I could NOT be happier I found them. They do whatever they can to help you, and honestly care about their patients. If you want to be sucessful in your recovery, and get your life back, call Addiction Immediate Care in Webster, MA. I promise you will not regret it ❤️

In the past I have visited Haywood Hospital at the Gardner MA location for Xrays, ultrasound and CT imaging. Heywood Hospital in my opinion is a Gem. Unlike other hospitals, Heywood is perfectly located away from chaotic traffic and congested busy streets. Including one-way streets as is the case in Boston or Worcester. In addition, Heywood provides plenty of free parking with cover for it's patients. The hospital is very clean, updated, and well maintained inside and out. The restrooms appear to be cleaned on a regular. The staff here have always been polite, professional, courteous and willing to help. Today I had an Xray scheduled and while at the patient registration I met Alice H. Alice has been working here for fifty-five years and was so friendly, kind, and helpful. Instead of given me verbal directions to the Xray department (It's been a while since my last visit) Alice H got up from her desk and accompanied me to the Xray area. Great lady I wish all staff were as kind and helpful as Alice H. I would also like to note the gentleman who preformed my Xray was equally as nice. 30 seconds to a minute and the entire process was complete. Conclusion: In the event someone needs imaging I highly recommend visiting Heywood in Gardner MA.

Unprofessional Staff, do not follow hippa guidelines, The outpatient " program director" is about 24 yrs old and lacks life . experience, the Nurse Practitioner is a joke. He makes you feel inferior to him as you are a addict and useless . Bottom line - They do not CARE about you! They only want to know what insurance you have so they can milk them out of " more time" needed. I am not a disgruntled person who is bitter, but advocating for myself as this ""program" is poorly organized and run by inexperienced new comers to the field of " mental health /substance abuse... yea, i know what im talking about- im in the medical field and this place is embarrassing to call itself a " Partial Hospitalization Program".. There are plenty of true recovery programs available more than you would think. I got into a established place quickly that does not prey on those seeking help and push them into the rabbit hole deeper.

In late 2024 when I was first seen here, the receptionist yelled at me over the phone when describing my symptoms and the PA kinda brushed me off regarding back issues that were preventing me from finding work. They later told me I should’ve been seen by a specialist sooner. I recently returned for a PC appt. The receptionist was inattentive and after 20 minutes the employees by the window kinda hinted that they’d forgot about me and started whining about how busy they were. I was the only one in the waiting room. I would only come to this location as a last resort

I had an intake appointment on March 23rd at 11 a.m. I was driving from East Falmouth and was about 45 minutes away. I left early, had my one and a half year old son with me but was stuck in traffic at moments. I arrived to my appointment at 11:08 and saw a sign that said if you are more than 10 minutes late, the appointment may need to be rescheduled. I was greeted by Shauna Potts at the front desk and apologized to her that I had been a little late but expressed the circumstances. Shauna then took a moment and told me I would have to reschedule and couldn't be seen since I was late. I expressed to her that I was not over 10 minutes late and she said rudely "It's 11:09". Shauna refused to let me be seen because the appointment would have only been 10 minutes long (30 minute appointment so it would've been 20 minutes) and she said there wasn't anything that could have been done. I had told her I drove almost an hour out of the way for the appointment and was stuck in traffic and she said "you didn't give us a call" and told her because I didn't have good service, had my child in the car and had to follow the GPS to get there as quick as I could. At this point, I was extremely upset because no office establishment has ever done that before. I asked for her supervisors contact information to report her and on the way out she said sarcastically "have a nice day". Worst customer service ever and quite honestly, a person like her should not be working in a mental health care facility.

The Honest truth

Someone died in a restraint here. Also 3 years ago I was a patient and someone tried to kill themselves and the staff new and told him to do it. I went into his room with someone he liked to help talk him out of it. Then the staff redirected us and told us to leave and threatened to call campus police. I'm currently here and the staff are very lazy and they always argue about why they can't do something like make a phone call to the kitchen or to a social worker. It's better than jail that's the excuse I keep telling myself. I hope you enjoyed my review.

Went to the Brookline Center for group therapy for about a month and a half. It wasn't a good fit for me, but the therapeutic aspects of the center weren't an issue. What was an issue was them telling me (over a recorded voicemail) that the services would be covered by my insurance, only to later backtrack and charge me directly, as they are not actually contracted or in network with my insurance at all. They told me my insurance is hard to work with and complicated. Even if that is true, maybe don't make promises you can't uphold? I paid them to resolve the issue, but I cannot support that kind of practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Massachusetts?
When comparing providers in Massachusetts, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Massachusetts?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Massachusetts?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Massachusetts providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Massachusetts providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
