This place is so irresponsible! I love my Dr and therapist, which is why I’m still dealing with Centerstone! I’m currently out of meds and have left 3 voicemails, emailed the case manager twice, my therapist put in a request and 3 people from the call center put in request to the nurse. I have stressed the importance of running out of my meds several times and a week later I’m still waiting for a callback! They don’t allow you to speak to anyone, your only choice is to leave messages for the nurse who NEVER calls back! They also make appointments without my knowledge then say I was a no show.it’s extremely hard to get ahold of anyone there and the call center employees are the only people you are allowed to speak with. This place is a mess and dangerous for mental health patients at times because of the irresponsibility, lack of care and disorganization.A man named Poz went out of his way today and a nurse called me back

i went to discovery a month or two ago. honestly a really good program, especially for like the older kids. this place really works you to get better. i honestly was satisfied with the way this place treated me. the food is alright i guess, most of the techs care about you and will take time out of their day and help. i think the only issue i had here was getting my medication on time, which i blame the pharmacy and not the program. the therapist usually are really helpful. the group of kids i was with were really nice and were always open. i’ve definitely seen so many people change within 30-60 days of being there. the therapist and directors also let you give feedback to things like group suggestions, outings, and things to make the place better for you and everyone, and most of the time they take it into consideration. if you plan to send yourself or your kid here, make sure you or your kid is ready to work the program!

I’m very grateful for this community health center. I found myself in a difficult situation without health insurance, which is incredibly scary in America because getting sick can have lifelong financial consequences. I came here worried about how much I’d have to pay out of pocket, especially during a time when I’m being very cautious with expenses.

I highly do not recomend "As a parent of a child with disabilities, I believe that the life of my child should be taken seriously, with the utmost empathy and commitment. Unfortunately, my experience with this BCBA has been disappointing. The lack of consistent communication and updates on my child's progress has made it difficult to feel confident in the services provided. The lack of the RBT supervision (failed) not complying on a plan.

This place was a disaster for my daughter. They admitted my 12 year old daughter with anorexia, only to drop her at the local hospital emergency room only 2 days later. According to the staff there, she was tampering with her feeding tube. They knew this was an issue with her and they assured me she would have 24 hour supervision. Contrary to the instructions given by the hospital, they were using a feeding machine as supposed to a syringe. My daughter lost an additional 5 pounds while in their care for 2 days. They quickly packed her up and sent her to a hospital that is now 3 hours away from us. For a facility that charges $1,500 a day for patients, they should be better equipped to deal with anorexic patients and not drop them at the first sign of a challenge. How were they expecting to help our daughter with her illness? Did they think it would be easy? Don’t waste your time with this place unless you want your patient to lose more weight or be dropped at the first sign of trouble.

So I first came here while I was in high school and had a great experience with LaSonya as my therapist. Unfortunately my insurance changed and I could no longer see her. After a few years I came back and saw a different therapist, I believe her name is Danielle. For whatever reason after the hurricane this year she had cancelled all of my future appointments with no reasoning or any kind of explanation. Apparently I’m not the only who had issues like this. If you do come here, try to get an appointment with LaSonya, if she’s still here. She was still the best therapist I’ve ever had and the only one who genuinely seemed like they wanted to help. Otherwise, avoid this place if you’re looking for a good therapist.

The councilor’s were competent and the groups were adequate, but the food was hit or miss, plastic plates and plasticware gave a sense of being disposable, loved having meetings at night. Now the nurse and dispensing of medication was always an adventure for sure, there are not any IV stations, it’s all medicine by oral, I white knuckled it and will hopefully never forget this experience, I hope nobody has to go through this. The main complaint from me is the lack of consistency which lead to a lack of confidence, I am grateful for the support I did receive, and am working my program as dedicated as I can, take the good and leave the rest, God bless

I’ve been in and out of rehab since I was 17 years old. I’m now 27. I’ve been to probably 10-15 facilities and detoxes all over Florida. Rockland saved my life. I see the one star reviews but I encourage everyone to read this comment. I was suicidal for as long as I could remember hopeless without a purpose. After rockland I’m now grateful for my life. I will always be an addict, but I can recover thanks to rockland. If yall see this comment and remember me I love and miss yall thankyou for saving my life. It’s been a year and I’m still clean ❤️ Tough love from rehab technicians can play a powerful role in helping someone get sober—especially when softer approaches have failed. It’s not about cruelty or punishment. It’s about structured honesty, firm boundaries, and refusing to enable addiction behaviors. Here’s how it works: 1. Breaks Through Denial • Addiction thrives on denial: “I’m fine,” “I can control it,” “It’s not that bad.” • Tough love confronts those lies directly: “You’re not okay. This is where your choices have gotten you.” • Rehab techs trained in tough love don’t sugarcoat—they reflect back the truth in ways friends or family may avoid out of fear or guilt. 2. Sets and Enforces Boundaries • Addicted people often test limits—lying, manipulating, refusing to follow rules. • Techs use tough love by saying things like: “You can choose to leave, but you can’t stay here and use.” “You broke the rule—you face the consequence.” • This teaches accountability, which addiction erodes. 3. Builds Emotional Resilience • Tough love pushes people to sit with discomfort—grief, shame, anger, boredom—without numbing it with substances. • A technician might say: “You’re upset. Good. Let’s talk about it. Feel it. Don’t run from it.” • Instead of rescuing you emotionally, they stand beside you through it. 4. Promotes Self-Responsibility • Rehab staff using tough love often refuse to do things for clients that they can do themselves. • This empowers clients: “You’re capable of facing this. We’re here to support—not to save.” • That shift from victimhood to ownership is crucial for lasting sobriety. 5. Prepares You for the Real World • Life outside rehab isn’t always kind. Employers, landlords, families won’t always be patient or forgiving. • Tough love gives you practice tolerating frustration, hearing hard truths, and dealing with people who hold you accountable.

Unprofessional to the point where i called in 15min prior my arrival and Charity Williams picked the phone, i automatically stated that since i was coming from another town plus being a barber the time schedule differs a little sometimes but i was going to make it 10MIN late at most and if not then is fair for them to leave, she said there is no way they will wait on me even though it was the first time happening and to reschedule for NEXT WEEK, i said “its ok”, next week i come in 10MIN before my time schedule and spoke to the “OFFICE MANAGER” at the moment, as i was told later by the guy with beard, dark hair, light skin TRAINEE that was there WITNESSING everything, i proceed to ask if they could wave the $25 FEE for not making it last time and LADY said w attitude that NO EXCEPTIONS was going to be made, then i replied that it was a favor if not ITS OK, and then CALLED ME DISRESPECTFUL for asking that favor saying the counselor taking care of me had to come for no reason, so i asked how was i being DISRESPECTFUL and to tell me what did i say wrong or to call someone above her and she WALKED AWAY!!! 😳 about 1min went by of me asking for my paperworks and everything they had from me to the trainee as he was standing there when she WALKS OUT AGAIN but telling me to call tomorrow for the person above her called Charity Williams which was the OWNER or PERSON IN CHARGE, and to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE for service that she was NOT GOING TO ALLOW me there, i ASKED AGAIN what the reason was and said she was not going to ARGUE with me, then i said i WASNT ARGUING i was just asking for a REASON because i was never disrespectful plus they HAVE A CAMERA 🎥 above me that is recording and if they look at it they will find out I WAS NEVER ANGRY or disrespectful and she replied SHE DIDNT CARE... hopefully they DO SOMETHING about it because is a shame for someone to go through all of that. ***The moment you start talking to them you could feel a BAD VIBE around them 😉*** Angela the therapist taking care of me was amazing♥️

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Florida?
When comparing providers in Florida, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Florida?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Florida?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Florida providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Florida providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
