first off I would like to say if you are in fear of suicide summitstone is better than nothing however in my experience there I received no clean clothes including underwear. I consulted two doctors who were very helpful, until time to discharge. upon my discharge time I was met with Dawn O'Keefe...she immediately changed everything that was helping me be safe with no explanation. this Dr steamroller me, didn't listen to my concerns she then proceeded to speak to my outside support groups and denied my medication refills. O'Keefe spoke to me as if I were inferior, invalid and uneducated. please avoid her at all costs she will not listen and will degrade/undermine you.

Called 6/26/24 and the female receptionist was worthless and waste a time. Talked to her for several minutes, explained my situation and asked if they had somebody that specializes in my child custody matters. She said you know you’re calling Grand Junction, which all calls funnel into one location and then they dispatch it accordingly. Most importantly, she said I don’t know what to tell you, I said well is there someone above you that might be able to direct me to the right person, she said oh yeah of course the Program Director. I was surprised she didn’t recommend that prior to me asking. I left a long message for the PD, and here it is more than 24 hours later, haven’t heard anything…ugh.

after explainin what services i wished to seek, psych elizabeth tried to convince me to do aba therapy instead, which annihilated all my faith in community reach center's ability to help me. autistic children & adults ought not be trained like dawgs!!! we're people for gawd's sake!!! her recommendation of this program made me realize this facility does NOT have the best interests in mind for autistic people & does NOT consider what aba puts us through if they're recommendin it to anyone. i'd advise autistic people to avoid this facility at all costs

I only give it one star because of horrendous food being served. Not only is it of extremely low quality, it has no nutritional value and the portions are tiny. It literally would not qualify as prison or POW food. Yesterday we got a hard boiled egg and a pancake for breakfast. It unfortunate and really inexcusable. The entire staff agrees and is aware, but has no power to change it. You live on snacks from the refrigerator. It completely detracts from the good being done by the staff.

My mental health issues only got progressively worse in the short time I went here. I stopped going and just cut my losses and decided to try traditional therapy instead of just being thrusted into medication. Each time I changed my medication I became suicidal immediately. My neurologist was really concerned that they prescribed me Cymbalta so casually without really looking at my medical history. I have now received a very demeaning phone call, and now a certified letter breaking up with me. I was cool with just leaving it alone, but Caitlin Aquino seems to have her ego bruised. This is just harassment at this point. It’s not okay to send someone’s mental health to spiral out of control because you are crashing out because someone wasn’t happy with the care they got. If you are seeking mental health care DO NOT GO HERE!! They will only make it worse.

Amanda Lewis is the absolute best! She is so so incredibly compassionate, sweet and supportive. I have had so many negative experiences with psychiatrists; Amanda has been the first one to listen to me, and BELIEVE me. Her approach is person-centered and collaborative; she really goes above and beyond to ensure that you (as the client) have the information and tools needed to make the best informed choices for yourself. I have been working with Amanda for the last 2 years and with her support, have made incredible progress with my mental health.

I want to start out by saying that the staff here (The receptionist/the peer support/coach) are all very friendly and welcoming. They did nothing wrong, but I do think Jeffco needs to make some changes. I did my intake through telehealth and was recommended a program here that seemed ideal at the time due to its flexibility in hours both virtually and in person. Upon arriving during the in person visit hours I told the individual at the front I needed to see a therapist. I was paired with a life coach of some sort then a peer mentor despite me communicating this. I was screened during my intake so the severity of my issues and urgency for help should have been notated in the file and I should not have been placed with peer support. I decided to give it a go anyways because at this point I was desperate and in need of help. I had already scraped up the will to go in. There were lots of things that came up, in fact probably 85% of things that came up where the peer support would mention that this was out of her realm of profession or she would mention/lightly vent about her issues. I think what I really needed was a professional, after all insurance is paying for profesional care. It was mentioned by the life coach that this is a fairly new type of program and if you are looking for feedback on this- I don’t think it’s ideal and people are being placed in it that are in need of serious professional help. I thankfully did not have a copay for this visit- but if I did I would’ve been upset. People need professional services. I do want to touch base again on the fact that all of the staff was very friendly and welcoming and the gal who was doing the peer support was super kind and I could tell she enjoyed what she did. I have now sought out care at a different clinic. Additionally it is extremely hard to get ahold of the team that doesn’t work in the office who schedule the intakes/actual appointments. 9/10 times you get their voicemail. I spent so long playing phone tag with them and sending emails. The level of care you get here is not worth the turmoil you’re put through to get established. Please add better scheduling tools via your website.

This place doesn't even deserve ONE star. Zero is even too much. If you want quality care, this place isn't it. Believe the negative reviews, they're all true. This place is disgusting, dirty, grubby, grimy, ineffective, unhelpful, traumatizing, inhumane, unskilled for true medical care (couldn't even appropriately help with diabetes and I almost went into a coma, twice). They strip you of your dignity, LITERALLY strip you of your clothes, treat you like a prisoner in a prison, don't offer any real therapy, hand out meds based on buzzwords (anxiety, depression), and this place is not geared to really helping people, only set up to get as many 'prisoners' in as possible to collect funding and insurance payments. There is no quality of structure, only prison style routines. There is no genuine compassion and care, just a subpar facility. Plastic mattress, plastic pillow, sheet thin blanket, mini 3 inch toothbrush, squeeze of toothpaste in a dixie cup, paper 'scrubs' to wear, 10 minute meal times. This place is the most depressing and sad place I have ever, ever, ever seen in my entire life. SOME of the unskilled staff were nice, some were weird. The kitchen staff was very nice, the food was tolerable for the most part and sometimes even decent. Otherwise, I'd rather live under a bridge with no food than ever have to be in this place ever again. They did not help my depression and severe anxiety, at all. They made it worse, and the truama they caused is now another thing to overcome. I'll never ask them for help again. TRUST THE OTHER BAD REVIEWS. The good ones are fake. As for the rare comments about the negative reviews being from people who don't want to put in the work, get a grip. We are much more intelligent than that and can recognize that this facility isn't the place to get appropriate help. This place is gross, for lack of a better word. It's horrendous, and all the negative reviews got it exactly right. Every single one of them. I too am writing letters to every agency to report them too. Every negative comment is right about this place, all of it. The positive comments sound like they are coming from the higher ups trying to fool people anyway. Don't be fooled, people! If you are suffering and in crisis, find alternatives s you don't end up even worse off! TRUST THE BAD REVIEWS!

This place is a joke. My daughter went in and was going through withdrawals. She also had a baby at the time. They came in to help and they came in gave me a spill about how they won't drop the ball and they will make sure that she gets all the help she needs and keep her on her medication that THEY PUT HER ON!!! She was living in Colorado Springs. I didn't want them involved because if they put her on medication and she couldn't get in to keep the medication going she would be back at square one going through withdrawal ls and it would effect her mental health and her post pardom depression. I was not excited about them stepping in Doctor came in gave me a song and dance on how they won't let her slip through the cracks and stay on top of it so she won't go through withdrawals on her mental health medication they are gonna give her. Well that song and dance was just that within the mo th of her going home getting an appointment was gonna take longer than her meds would last and guess what they dropped the balk. My daughter called me panicked and freaking out she was out of medication and coming down she was crying and hysterical. Me and all her support team was calling and calling and we got NO HELP NO ASSISTANCE NOTHING!!!! ALL THIS CRAP ABOUT we take Mental health seriously was just a song and dance. Never trust the physicians in the behavioral health program. They lie through their teeth and are the most horrible people I have ever delt with. They did exactly what they said they wouldn't do. They are a joke and I feel so sorry for their patients that have to deal with them. This was in 2025. Never will I trust them ever!!

I don't understand how a company can stay in business being ran this way, especially a company that is supposed to help people with their mental health.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing this review to inform patience and family members of the neglect. After this I am going to file a formal DORA complaint against Jamie Pollock in Pueblo, Colorado, regarding the treatment of my wife. My wife has been under Jamie Pollock’s care for continuous Suboxone treatment for many years During this extensive period, I have observed significant negative changes in her personality, overall happiness, hormone levels, and cognitive function. It is my belief that the treatment has been extended far beyond a reasonable timeframe, resulting in worsening well documented side effects that are severely impacting her mental well-being. I am concerned that the provider is not performing his due diligence in tapering my wife off the medication, but is instead facilitating a long-term dependency. I believe this approach takes advantage of my wife's situation and fails to meet the standard of care expected of an opioid treatment specialist. Medical doctors should not be abusing their authority to make extra income.

This facility deserves a MUCH higher rating than it currently has. The staff at the ATU are absolutely S-Tier human beings and top-notch professionals. These guys know their stuff, and are some of the kindest, most compassionate and understanding people I’ve had the privilege of meeting. I have been to several inpatient facilities before, and this one is by far the best. It’s a very small unit, with a very calm and welcoming vibe. The real treat here is definitely the staff, though. These are genuinely some of my favorite people I’ve ever met. Andy, Liz, Siena, Mel, Laura, literally everybody, all the behavioral techs, all the nurses, those guys deserve a pay raise, SERIOUSLY. Axis, PLEASE, I BEG of you, pay these people more. They barely make more than me, and I work at a dollar store. These people are the REASON I’m sitting at home right now feeling like myself. Shout outs to David for driving me home, Dr. Powers for believing in me, and Dr. Ketner for supporting me and saving my best friend’s life.

They are not communicating anything with me I don’t know what’s going on. I’m just trying to take this back to court and it seems they don’t care or are not taking this seriously. I will not recommend this company to anyone ever please go somewhere else. This is ridiculous and I paid for the repot upfront so that’s probably why they are taking so long I just want to see my baby.

Not a good experience. I walked In to get paperwork. The woman working at the front desk was kind, but this woman came from the back who worked there and was very rude. She just stood up looking at me and I said "hi" with no hi back. Other review is right about horrible customer service. The woman was also extremely morbidly obese and not really the model for health or mental health. I will have to go elsewhere. Made to feel uncomfortable.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Colorado?
When comparing providers in Colorado, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Colorado?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Colorado?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Colorado providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Colorado providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
