Would not recommend this place at all. The hidden fees are ridiculous. They wait until you get there to tell you about extra charges for everything — including charging $100 just to book the intake class, which was never clearly explained why upfront. On top of that, the staff and even the director were extremely rude and unprofessional. The whole experience felt uncomfortable, misleading, and honestly disrespectful. Communication was poor, pricing was not transparent, and customer service was terrible from start to finish.

I have been under care here for a year. I found a group therapy and individual therapist that are very supportive that I loved to learn with and from. I have enjoyed it until recently. I faithfully went to group every week for a year only missing one. Our group became a community I relied on weekly to help with my mental heath and aid my healing. They decided a policy change needed to happen because our group was sought after. Over half of the group has been told their therapy was ending through no fault of our own but they can rejoin for one more time frame or go to other groups. We raised our voices and received false hope about being able to stay in our group after originally hearing of the forced change. Summitstone failed to communicate effectively and in turn over 9 people just in our group are forced to end our therapy, change our schedules and hope something healthy and productive can take the place of a group therapy that did work for us so much so we chose to show up routinely. I can’t speak for them but I can speak for myself when I say how my life will be negatively impacted by this forced change.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I had to find a new place for classes as my job schedule changed. After the initial evaluation I wasted hundreds of dollars on I had the worst feeling about this place. It was only backed up when I took my first class and I cried for almost an hour after to my bf about how I was spoken to and treated by the TEACHER. The teacher pretty much told me she couldn’t believe I’ve been in “treatment” classes for months already (my old place had me as a victim who ended up getting charges and didn’t treat me like the abuser because I’m not violent or a mean person. I was taught stuff like red flags and what gaslighting is) But this teacher made me feel like I was going to be in the classes forever after what she said, when I really just took a plea deal for something I couldn’t even physically do.

North Range Behavioral Health is an absolute joke and feels like it’s run worse than a government office. I’ve been a “client” here for almost 3 months and have only had two sessions. They don’t allow regularly scheduled sessions so you can only book your next session at the end of your appointment and they’re usually 3-4 weeks out. The first session ended up being only 30 minutes because the therapist failed to send a link in advance and it took quite some time to chase the main office to notify the therapist.

This place is full of liars. I was there 2 weeks ago and they lied about my insurance. The First Lady that I spoke with said that they accepted my insurance. Then my discharge they told me that they didn’t. I am on disability and now I am not able to pay my rent. They told me that they were going to waive my fees because the first liar told me that they accepted my insurance. So thanks for making me homeless again. Worst people ever. All they do is DO NOT GO HERE! Please you will have better luck on being homeless. There is not a MAN or WOMAN who can respond. Good for you. Just tell people you don’t accept United Healthcare insurance instead of tagging along people who want help Denver CARES opp my bad Clinica. Don’t trust Jacob

If you guys don't allow patients to be more than 10 minutes late without having to reschedule, I feel it's only right to hold the doctors that work here to the same standard. My time is just as valuable as theirs and I also have a schedule to maintain. I missed work for an appointment I didn't keep because I shouldn't have to wait for more than 10 minutes passed my appointment time. UNACCEPTABLE!!

They gave me a phone to be able to use but never contacted me back. I’ve had my service turned off so I can’t call them and I’ve been waiting for a call since April for them to tell me I was put on my Medicaid. I couldn’t call or go to therapy until I was confirmed on their list to have Medicaid or it would be 100$ A session. I have not heard anything back from them :(

I absolutely love my therapist Dale, but my Medication provider was very lacking. She did not help me at all, she actually made me feel very unwelcome. She was not open to any of my input as far as my treatment went and even described me and a difficult case. Very unprofessional and I will be seeking a new provider.

Never dealt with a billing dept that was such a nightmare. A charge shows up for a no show because the link sent via email for the appt was bad ( did not work). Our son called the center about this problem, they could not fix it. I was there. It is their fault yet they billed $100 for no show. I sent money every two weeks to pay that ASAP, name and account number clearly posted. He thought that settled it, nope!. He kept getting vague statements showing $100 balance, calls and correspondence are not returned for accountability of those payments. He gave up. Finally got a statement months later showing some of the four payments for the $100 but not all. Sent another payment with more money for the balance with correspondence which was also ignored. That payment still has not been processed 2 months later. Are they throwing our payments in the garbage can? His name and account is clearly posted.

They offered to see you right away if you pay $3,500-4,000. But if you live in the poverty level like me, you’re placed on a wait list and it takes about a year. I had my initial appointment several months ago. It’s so hard to wait a year to get testing that you’ve been waiting to get your whole life you know and once again, you get treated like an underdog. At this place, money walks and people who have insurance wait.

Kaiser Permanente is a absolute nightmare to work with but unfortunately I have to as it is the only free healthcare I get through work. Everything is automated, all the numbers to reach different departments are wrong and no one seems to know what the right numbers are. The automated system also constantly hangs up on me which absolutely drives me insane. Further, the worst thing (and the reason I’m including this department) is that I’ve had medications I need daily withheld from me by by doctor in behavioral health until I set up a appointment with this individual and I don’t get any notice that a appointment needs to be set up until I go into the pharmacy to pick up my meds and the pharmacist says your doctor did not approve this refil!!!! This is so morally wrong to withhold medications needed by a patient just because Kaiser wants to constantly monitor you. I have had to take off 3 different half days at work just trying to get my meds I need in the morning! I could go on forever and say a million other things about Kaiser but I don’t have the time or energy to do that. All I can say is if you have the option to chose your health care provider don’t go with Kaiser!!! It’s been the biggest pain to deal with them and I’m even considering paying for my own healthcare out of pocket just to not have to deal with them! Avoid at all costs!!!!

The sheer incompetence at this facility is astounding. Over the past three months I have received over eight calls and several emails from MHP reminding me of an appointment which I canceled months ago or asking whether I'd like to receive services. Every single time they call, I ask to be taken off of their call list. Every single time they call, I remind them that I canceled my appointment months ago. Every single time they call, the person on the other end says "oh oops" and says they will resolve the issue but they never do. This is starting to feel like harassment.

I am in the same boat as all of these other reviewers. I can't get anyone on the phone and the email address comes back with an error message, like the others have stated. I did manage to get ONE woman on the phone last week, and she was nice, but since then, no one has returned my voicemails or emails. I can't even tell if they are getting my emails tbh. Today when I called, there is literally no option to get anyone on the phone. It's honestly a disgraceful thing. This is a taxpayer funded government institution. They work for WE THE PEOPLE!! Honestly, what else could they be doing that is so important if it isn't assisting customers on the phone or over email? My license is currently suspended because of a clerical error and I can't get anybody here to help me fix this document. It's really quite frustrating. As a veteran, it makes me sick to see how out government treats it's citizens.

I took their alcohol education class back in 2019 and had no issues other than the obvious money grubbing. All the way in 2024, I am finally able to submit all of my paper work to reinstate my license and after ~5 years of working and waiting and jumping through all of these hoops for this moment, Choices decided to forget CRUCIAL/BASIC information needed on my discharge form. I thought a simple phone call would fix the situation but after I was finally able to reach someone, they had zero capability of aiding me aside from "wait until Saturday". After seeing all of these other 1 star reviews, I didn't expect anything less than another hassle. I'm sure there are better run/more well organized organizations out there.

I am disappointed to write this review… however Spanish clinic has changed. I have been a client of Spanish Clinic for a DUI I was charged with when I was 16. I took all of my drug tests through them and everything was great. They were respectful people, José who I hope is either a manager there or has moved on somewhere else helped me tremendously… however I am now involved in a virtual MRT session with a counselor who just talks about himself all of the time. It makes me feel uncomfortable, weird, and it hurts because I love Spanish clinic for what they did for me in the past … however the unprofessionalism I have been experiencing lately is ludicrous and I would love to speak to a manager . I wish this could have been a five star review

Absolutely terrible, if your child is placed with a therapist that doesn't have a direct phone number you have to go through the rigamarole of calling the front desk just to be transferred to voicemail with no reply. If you address this with the clinician they are known to get rude with you, and I'm not just talking about being spoken to directly. If the home is split the clinicians here can be dirty enough to just say the parent was being hostile regardless of how respectful you were or not. Completely unprofessional, RECORD EVERYTHING. Everyone I have spoken to has also had bad experiences with this place. Very biased and selective people, regardless of how nice you are they act as if you work for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Colorado?
When comparing providers in Colorado, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Colorado?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Colorado?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Colorado providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Colorado providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
