I miss Dr. stumpf. While the nurses are pretty nice and they offer great services, I agree with the other comments. The lady with the short hair never welcomes me or comes across as friendly. Figured it was an off day but I repeatedly feel she’s not helpful, kind or welcoming. I wish they had mental health professionals that were more experienced. Overall, better than former insurance and I’d say Im content overall but the front desk lady needs to change her attitude

Al Gonzales is my therapist, a Veteran and is extremely helpful and therapeutic in many aspects of my life. In years past I had a doctor, there, who put me on multiple medications, he changed my life. I was a complete mess. Overweight, depressed, feeling worthless. Everything changed on the meds I was taking. For some reason the doctor was let go, later. I am thankful for that doctor, in that time in my life. I am thankful for Al Gonzales, now!

I swear they purposely pick the rudest receptionist to work there. How are you as a company helping mental health when you don’t keep clients appointments because the receptionist called to schedule a earlier appointment. But the receptionist can’t seem to schedule the new earlier appointment. Making you lose your appointment for that week completely and now you have a appointment a month later. But no it wasn’t their fault somehow it’s yours. It’s very disappointing. I really question how truly they are helping mental health in the community. When they cause nothing but frustrating services that are truly disappointing.

I believe that I am reviewing the right location. Today I spoke with Brittney the Outpatient Counselor. I cannot begin to explain how she made my stress level diminish in seconds. She spent time with me on the phone, helped me through some items I was stressed on, and made me feel like a person she cared about. As I was booking my visit to see her, she asked “So, what’s your name?” That was the moment I realized that she was in her role because she wants to help people. She treated me so well and I had forgotten to even give my name to her like normal people do at the start of the conversation. I haven’t began my program. However, I am very confident that I will be treated with respect. In a 20 minute conversation, I was heard and respected. Thank you Brittney, your kindness was needed and appreciated. -K

This place is an absolute joke. They were in the school so my son started to see a counselor. But then he left after only a few months. So a new counselor started to see my son, she left after only a few visits cause she was promoted, Understandable. His new counselor was ok at best. I never got the feeling she actually cared for the well being of my son. She is very cold and never communicated well with me. Amanda Thayer stated she needed to start billing me but neglected to tell me they don’t take private insurance. Now I have a 700 bill for only 2 hours of sessions. If I would have known they didn’t take any insurance but Medicaid, I never would have kept going. When I asked to speak with Amanda, the front desk was snotty to me and said they emailed her. I left and sent an email myself and got a response over an hour later. No respect for time. No wonder this place has such a low rating. I hope this lowers it more.

I completed the education program and consistently paid in advance which they took after supposedly not contacting them to start the final process! Now they are trying to charge a 30$ re-enrollment fee I highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs!! Worst program service in grand junction by far!!

Great front desk woman Victoria..... however there is a counselor that is Truly rude, judgemental, and picks and chooses who she is polite to. When dealing with people that already have an issue and are trying to get help, No one wants to deal with someone That is rude, and that is not open to hearing what We have to say. we already are down and out and wanting help we don't need Someone judging us for the mistakes that we already understand we have made. It is supposed to be a professional setting. However, there's nothing professional about this woman. She makes it go from a 5 star rating to a one star. That is how much of a sour seed she is.

I absolutely love my actual doctor, but I've had issues with prescription refills nearly every month that requires me to spend hours on the phone. Out of 20+ promises of callbacks in the past 6 months I've only gotten 2 or 3. They don't track much in a central system, so every time I have to follow up I have to start over, and they seem to have such high turnover that you're almost always talking to a new hire on a monthly basis. At one point my refill date got off by 10 days due to a rejected insurance claim. The pharmacy let me know I'd need to call Axis to get it sorted as they couldn't fix it through their system. I explained the situation to an assistant and encouraged them to call the pharmacy to talk it through, but instead got a callback telling me I needed to "use my medication as prescribed'...at this point I'm out of energy to deal with this place and am just going to find a new doctor.

I see Alex for two years and was very happy with him.But since he has a new position now he told me I would have to see someone else. He referred me to Trevor Entzminiger. Our first visit didn’t go as well as I would have liked it to. On our second visit he changed all my medication that I have been on for over twenty years and when I tried to explain to him that I have been on before and it made me sleep all day. He said I would need to find another Doctor because he is not comfortable treating me. Never in my life have I had a Doctor tell me that. So I love Axis but need to find a new doctor.

⚠️ WARNING: Fake Reviews & Misuse of Personal Information This organization shows serious red flags. There appears to be a pattern of fake or misleading reviews that do not reflect real client experiences. When legitimate concerns are raised, they are ignored, deflected, or dismissed rather than addressed transparently. More concerning is the handling of personal and sensitive information. Information provided for assistance purposes appears to be shared with third parties without clear disclosure, consent, or accountability. When questioned, staff claim they are “not liable” or that responsibility belongs to unnamed vendors — which is unacceptable. If an organization is collecting personal data, they are responsible for how it is used and protected. Passing the blame while continuing to benefit financially raises serious concerns about consumer protection, privacy violations, and potential fraud. People seeking help deserve honesty, boundaries, and lawful behavior — not deception, silence, or risk to their personal information. Proceed with caution and document everything.

I saw a therapist for a couple months, weekly-biweekly when I was in a very dire time. She took off a whole month so I basically had to find someone else, when I tried they tried to book me with Miexhausting. (Supposedly case managment) who I had recently visited with about inpatient care, which she had no idea about and basically said there was no help for me. So that was infuriating. Front desk are not very helpful either and that had led me to give up on therapists at this location. I do have a great psychiatrist, Patricia Garcia but I can only communicate through her as when I talk to front desk they always seem to mix things up or misunderstand. It's exhasuting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Colorado?
When comparing providers in Colorado, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Colorado?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Colorado?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Colorado providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Colorado providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
