This place is dangerous!!!! I had an elderly family member that was there because of her medication not working and she was having thoughts of hurting herself. After i think two weeks, they had not gotten her medication fixed. They told my cousin that they we're releasing her and he told them that he was out of town and could not pick her up to bring her home and that there was nobody that would be there with her. She was supposed to be going to a nursing home for Rehab before going home. Mountain Crest did not follow through on that. Instead what they did was bring her home at night without anybody there without any medication and she did not even have her house key. The neighbor had to come over and unlock the door! So Mountain crust basically did nothing! The medication was not fixed and all they did was drop her off back at home in the middle of the night! Complete incompetence!

They treat people like garbage they know these people are going through something tough and instead of helping they just kick you when you're already down. The place is unsanitary the staff are unprofessional and rude, they smoke INSIDE the building even though there are people inside the building who have asthma and other medical issues. If you speak up about any wrongdoing you're going to get punished for it too, very crooked place.

WP helped me immensely twice in the past year, for detox and their residential inpatient program. Today after a detox they released me even though I emphatically said I needed to transfer from detox to the residential inpatient program. They gave me each of the following responses, when I didn’t buy one excuse after another. FIRST they told me I wasn’t appropriate for their residential treatment program because I hadn’t attended the group therapy programs while I was in detox. Except that they didn’t take into consideration the fact that I was sleeping or otherwise out of it for TWO days to be able to attend these therapy sessions. I told them I didn’t attend because I couldn’t get out of bed from the drugs I was treated with, had not even been able to get out of bed for two days to even eat breakfast lunch or dinner. Meals had to be served to me in bed, to the extent I could even really eat most of them. So — their refusal to transfer me to their residential inpatient program had no basis in fact. So next SECOND reason they said that when I checked into detox I didn’t specifically ask to go to the residential treatment program (how could I know what I might need after coming out of detox?); THIRD, next excuse was that I hadn’t signed waivers to make me eligible for Medicare to pay for inpatient residential treatment (but no one asked me to apply for Medicare assistance), FOURTH, they said they didn’t have enough beds available in their residential program, when in fact I knew from others in detox they had no problem transitioning from detox to residential treatment.

Update: today was my first day I had an intake. Everyone at the front counter was very nice and polite. I met with two different people during the intake. They were really nice and polite. I really do feel they really wanna help me. They really do care about me and they really want to help my mental health and just help me in general and I’m very excited to start in this journey and it was really hard to talk about things that I’ve experienced, but I’m excited to now start diving Deep into myself internally spiritually mentally financially, and I know through taking the time to volunteer for therapy and to work on myself I’m excited to see what God my life and this company is going to do for me in every which way in my life and I’m just really excited to turn a new leaf over after months and months of calling doctors or seeing people and they said they can’t help me. I’m just excited to be able to start this journey now with Community outreach center!

I have not been here in a while but I really appreciate the therapists that work here, during a hard time in my life I didn’t know what to do or if I could rely on anyone, even though I didn’t end up going to the center they recommended having someone to talk to felt really great, and I will never forget that, how comfortable the staff made me feel. They took precautions to make sure I kept myself safe. Thank you! Even having someone listen to you is one of the most helpful things one can do. The overnight nurse that works here is also very sweet, she was very supportive of me.

This place is beautiful and the staff is very nice. Unfortunately, that’s all I can say that’s good. A family member (very bravely) checked themself in voluntarily to get some help. The brochures and website describe a therapeutic atmosphere, but they literally got no counseling while they were there. I asked a tech about counseling and she literally told me, “yeah, we don’t do that here”. So we wasted time, money and energy to basically get no help at all. After 3 days, my loved one came home…no different when when they were admitted. Sad. This is why there is such a mental health crisis in our country.

So, apparently you will be charged if you don't cancel before 24 hours of the appointment, but they could cancel few hours before the appointment, which you have wiated three weeks for, with this explanation that the therapist's schedule is full till the next three weeks. So, simply there is a month and halg time gap between two appointments.

Seems like since it turned into Axis I have had a much harder time getting appointments etc. I recently went in the office to update some info and thank God there was a new receptionist. The last one gave me so much anxiety I avoided her. Not good for a mental health clinic. I would have been happier checking in online than deal with her. Sadly though I had been put on a waiting list a couple months ago for a therapist. Although I have been patient over two years. And then found out there was actually in person appointment available yet no one contacted me. I hope to see improvements continue. I'm grateful for what ever helps I get, but another thing since Axis took over is the emphasis on payment. I can't get an appointment with the therapist now until I get on sliding fee.

If your child needs help: do NOT send them here. This program affected my mental health extremely negatively. They do not treat the children in their program with care or grace, instead treating them like a problem child that needs to be punished into being “fixed”. This program deserves to be shut down permanently.

I was deeply dismayed and disappointed by the way my father was treated at Dr. Rimmey's office. I made an appointment for a physical for him over a month ahead of time- I specified to the person who took my call that I wanted him to have a complete physical, vaccines, labs, etc as well discuss ways to support his memory issues. The man I spoke to seemed to note my request and told me we would have a 40 minute appointment for a physical. My dad did not receive any kind of physical- the Dr left the room without even listening to his heart or lungs or doing any kind of assessment. She stated she would have a man named Dillon come in and give us some referrals to support him at home with his memory issues. At some point in the conversation, she said she would give us a neurology referral. This was not done. I have called the office twice since and requested the neurology referral and have yet to receive it. Dillon came in and gave us paperwork to complete which I believe was for Health First Colorado. He told me to complete it as best we could and we could then make an appointment with him to go over it and submit it. I did that, called Dillon, and made an appointment to review the paperwork with him on 1/28 at noon. We arrived for this paperwork appointment and checked in at the desk. After about 10 minutes, this absolutely horrible woman- who stated she was Dillon's supervisor- came out and rudely told us that Dillon was not there. She said she checked his schedule and informed me that she did not believe we had any appointment, when we absolutely did. She said, "What are you applying for?" I showed her the papers and she said, "Oh, you're applying for Medicaid? Just go down to Human Services!" I did not know we were applying for Medicaid, I was told we were applying for a program that might get some help for my dad. She was so abrasive, so unkind, I could not believe that she was 1) a supervisor and 2) someone who interacted with the public. I'm not a person of means. I took time away from my job and flew in from WI to get my dad in a safe and healthy place. I counted on this doctor and staff to help us get there. It was all a complete waste of time and effort. I cannot even begin to verbalize how disappointing and frustrating it is.

Went throught this company for DUI group therapy. They offered it through telehealth and the group I went through changed counselors a few times when I first started it but I finally ended up with Paul. He was a great counselor who was kind and came across non-judgemental and was never condescending. Seemed like he was genuinely interested in listening to everyone's experiences in the group and offering his own necessary when providing the actual counseling. The groups were very informative and helpful, especially because everyone had a metaphorical open table to discuss at and it felt less like a single person pushing an agenda/curriculum rather than a group of people working through it together. Great experience, even if I hope I never have to do it again.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Colorado?
When comparing providers in Colorado, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Colorado?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Colorado?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Colorado providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Colorado providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
