I called today trying to seek inpatient treatment, when I called I was asking if they had any beds available so I could come to do intake, I was very calm but clearly broken when calling and trying to seek help but the women on the phone gave me the most horrendous attitude for asking if they had space and then proceeded to treat me terribly and angrily told me that she didn’t know what I wanted , I repeated that I was calling to see if there was space available, they angrily asked me why so I responded “I just want to make sure you have space before I come there” when another woman in the background yelled “WELL IF THAT WAS THE CASE THEN WED NEVER HAVE BEDS” which I still don’t understand? The other woman proceeded to scoff and again say “I don’t know what you want from me” I was so appalled I hung up. If this is how you treat people seeking help then you should not be allowed to help them. I can not imagine working for a psychiatric hospital and treating potential patients this way just for asking for help, if I was less sound minded that could have been my last straw. I refuse to ever go here or refer it to any friends or family. This is disgusting behavior, do better.

Your mom says that Glenn County is a bad place to be if you are elderly, poor and in need of help. They don't answer phone calls nor do they return calls after you leave a message. I moved to Glenn County after almost 20 years of being homeless. Wish I had stayed homeless. Mother nature offers more help and support than does Glenn County.

I was forced to be here back in 2017. The first Doctor that I saw adjusted my meds and was very nice to me. The psychiatrist there was ok. The psychiatry staff weren’t very nice. I was forced to shower when I didn’t want to. Some patients stole something from me. They graded the amount of food that you ate and they sent the information to the psychiatrist. I didn’t like that the staff used a light to check on you from the outside every so often. I’ve been careful but to end up there again so I don’t say things that could get me there. It’s hard sometimes though.

Would never recommend this place to anyone. You are better off going to the next town over. I had to wait 3 months before being connected with a therapist and they assigned me to a new therapists who was unable to help me with my complex issues. They give you resources that are not useful and will keep you running around in circles while they collect the insurance funds. I asked my therapists multiple times to produce a plan for treatment with no results. Also, the psychiatrist will give you a bad review in their notes if you refuse to take their drugs.

hello ,' so far my experience has been o'k not great. I have had 2 different case managers, my last case manager was OK. The issue that i have with some of these case managers some of them have a temper tantrum. I requested a new case manager who understanding and help- me get my life together and achieve my goals, A supervisor name Ruth, instead of matching me with someone that i can get along well and work together , she puts me with my first case manager which hes communication wasn't great???? why would you put me someone that didn't work out in the first place ?? why ??? it doesn't make since to me at all the worst part is when she mention i requested him ??? i was like what ???? i never recalled requested him for a case manager. ! she was dishonest and it seems that she was getting annoyed... not very professional. Lastly i have a dmv appointment next week neither the old case manager or supervisor set me up with a ride really pathetic of then . That's why they get a 1 !

I was referred to this program to get support services so I showed up hoping to get connected and unfortunately you have to deal with Their receptionist Shanay who obviously is pretty insecure and jealous and very unprofessional because she refused to connect me with Dennis Brown. Shanay claimed she didn’t know if he was there but her attitude and unhappiness was so noticeable I saw right away she wasn’t really trying to help so the security guard who seemed very creepy told me that he’d find me some help but he told me to come downstairs in a room where I guess his office is which was bazar ! And nobody was downstairs so I figured it out the security intentionally was perverted, yes unfortunately that’s the look he had on his face so I immediately left. Hopefully they can get some people who are kind and sincere like Dennis Brown because I was expecting to meet with him since he referred me and I’m a strong believer that it’s best to work with the one who showed they really want to help. Bayview hunters point foundation may be a good resource and program that our community desperately needs but from my experience they have a lot more work to do at that location on Carrol st. SF thank you & God bless.

I wish I would have looked at the reviews before allowing a family member to go here. I don’t care what issue your family member has do not send them here! I’m in the process of trying to get my family member out of here who voluntarily came here for anxiety. As mentioned in previous reviews this place absolutely does falsify documentation. He was supposed to be on a 3 day hold, he didn’t see a social worker or a Dr. (Dr. Ligia Berci) until the 3rd day. They suggested he stay for 2 more days for further observation because they waited until the 3rd day to observe him and when he refused they threatened to hold him for 14 days. As if he is not allowed to get upset about staying there longer when he has a job to get back too. He asked the Dr. to call his job she said she don’t do that. They put on his documents that he cannot take care of himself, buy his own food clothes etc. he has his own apartment and a job. They also put chronic alcohol impairment and he is not a drinker the Dr. spoke to him for 2 minutes and didn’t care about his concerns at all. She refused to take or return my calls. Instead now after seeing her, he can barely stay awake long enough to talk on the phone. She got upset with him because he requested to see a Dr. who could speak better English so they can better verbally understand each other which upsetted her and she told him maybe he should just lose his job, in retaliation she is dopping him up and keeping him passed his 72 hour voluntary hold. Oh yea and they placed him on an involuntary hold when he walked in and admitted himself on a 3 day hold. This place is for profit only. Keeping him to charge his insurance. I plan on reporting them to every agency that I can, I will not stop with this battle I don’t care how long it takes, someone will be held accountable for this unfair treatment, falsified documents, abuse of patients rights, insurance fraud etc.. Because this place needs to be shut down. This facility is a the number 1 reason/example of why people with mental health issues are afraid to reach out for help. DO NOT SEND ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT TO THIS FACILITY. To all the patients that experienced the same in previous reviews, just because you have a mental issue does not mean you don’t have rights. They also provide a patient advocate number to the patients, which I will have to call for him because the number do not work from the phones that they have access too, he has tried calling it several times. And now it’s the weekend and I have to wait until Monday since his rights was taken away to call. That is a clear case of abuse.

This review is for the X Ray department only. I do not live in this area and don't know of anyone that has been a patient or went to ER. I took my elderly friend here for a chest xray since she needs assistance. I personally would never go here because I have heard some terrible stories about this place! I took my friend in early ( no appointment needed..her doctor called in the order). It was surprisingly clean and not crowded. The building itself is dated and could use a good makeover. After she signed in it was less than 15 minutes to get the chest xay. The techs were very friendly and professional! She had a good experience and we were in and out quickly!

Can't speak on personal services they offer but if the indication of the people who drive the county vehicles blatant disregard to follow traffic laws and possibly endanger children at school bus stops, they're terrible. It's not hard to see a big yellow school bus with the red lights flashing and stop signs out but yet it's ok to speed past? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in California?
When comparing providers in California, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in California?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in California?
Yes. Mental Health US includes California providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all California providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
