My brother was in the middle of a mental health crisis and was in their care for 24 hours before they decided he was ok, however they had to heavily sedate him before he was able to be transported to my grandparents house. When he finally came to he was arrested for acting out and taken to jail which only has made his condition worse and he has been charged with more crimes because he's unable to process his surroundings and his situation. If you live in Pinal County and have loved ones who find themselves in a crisis God help you because no one else will.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I recently took items to my mom. A nurse answered the door after making me wait 10 minutes outside. She wouldn't let me come in and she took the bag from me and I gave her the name of the patient it was for. She said she knew who it was with a rude looking face. I asked her if I could fill out the drop off sheet and she said no she would get it to her. Well now it's been 5 days and they still keep giving my mom the go around. They can't seem to find the items that I brought her and I have called more than five times to get a hold of somebody and nobody will answer the phone and nobody will call me back. I'm getting frustrated because I don't have the money to replacing the items that they lost. I just don't understand why they're acting like this and why they won't answer my phone calls.

I have been calling to have my medical records sent to an inpatient rehab and they do not answer. I was not informed about clothes that were dropped off for me, my family told me after I was discharged… they did not give me my clothes back after reaching out and showing up to pick them up. I left my shampoo and hair conditioner for other female patients to use after I was discharged . When I showed up for my clothes they gave me my shampoo and conditioner back instead… “we have a shift swap, come back tomorrow” even though I called and was assured I could go and pick up my clothes….

I've been coming here on and off for literally years, and I am absolutely blown away at the changes they have made. Every interaction with every staff member has been exceptional. I waited to write this review in case it was a fluke, but after 6-7 encounters with different staff members, they're great nowadays. I absolutely LOVE my PCP, Joyce Kim. If you are stressed out by doctors or a doctor's office I highly HIGHLY recommend her. She is very sweet, patient, kind, understanding, and most importantly for me, non-judgmental. Thank you guys for changing for the better, so much, for me and for others. 😇

Unprofessional! Pros: This office is very nice and conveniently located. Hence the reason for 2 stars and not 1. Cons: The front desk staff is very unprofessional. They sit there gossiping and texting while you stand there. I had to go up to the desk several times before being waited on. The staff going in and out of the office act like they don't want to be there. Very lazy behavior. At my intake appointment, I was asked a few questions and told that I needed to return in a week for an intake appointment. What? Why did I have to return to do the same thing? Prior to leaving I asked if I had any paperwork to complete so I could have it ready for my next appointment. I was told there would be no paperwork. Unfortunately, I arrived at my next appointment and low and behold this lady hands me a complete packet of forms to complete. How in considerate. Especially for those of us that are physically disabled. I was so upset because I was blind sided. In addition, three people were at the front desk going on and chit-chatting about absolutely nothing. I want you to know that if you do decide to utilize the services at this location then be prepare for unprofessional individuals that will blind side you with a ton of paperwork. In addition, you will wait longer than your allotted time for no reason as well. I wasn't even assigned a particular person. I had to watch the intake person go around asking if someone was available to do an intake on me. Ugh... so frustrated!

Such an unprofessional facility. They blamed us for not going to our “appt” that we didn’t yet schedule. Then when we kept trying to get in contact with them they gaslit us into saying we didn’t contact them and they were the ones trying to contact us. Gaslit us into saying that we’re the ones in the wrong. In take person sounded high and had no idea how to talk to our kid who was having the worst time and didn’t bother trying to talk professionally with us either. So don’t waste your time. They’re a bunch of clowns.

I was at a St Luke's facility when I was 15 or 16 and the only it did was traumatize me. I was threatened to be strapped to my plastic bed have a tube shoved down my throat if I didn't eat every single bite of the slop they served. When they gave me meds to make me sleep they wouldn't let me go to my room to sleep until everyone else went to theirs. They had a kid that would have explosive tantrums and start throwing chairs at people then they'd lock us in our rooms and not let us out the rest of the day. There was mold in the showers, couldn't even shower when we wanted anyway. Had to be on their schedule. The facility was a dumpster fire of incompetency and uncaring and untrained staff. If you send your kids to this place, just know that you're making them worse, killing all trust you may have had.

Extremely unprofessional and taking only certain facts into account when talking to them. They pick sides instead of taking listening to both sides and making a decision on that. The particular person I called for has Borderline Personality Disorder and by the time they got to my house he was acting normal and putting on a show of a good person for the Terros workers. They took his side and didn’t help us. They made us feel like the bad person for calling crisis over someone with BPD that does not want to take his medicine.

After a short stay at the Aurora Behavioral Health care unit in Glendale, AZ. I can state that the nursing staff is outstanding! However, an 'outside' experience has completely destroyed my trust and respect for those outside the nursing staff. Three days after leaving the facility, I wanted to help two individuals as well as those on the Roadrunner Unit. These were individuals who were struggling not only with drug/alcohol addictions but with nicotine withdrawals and who were not provided cigarettes via the facility. After purchasing two cartons of cigarettes, I attached bows and cards and stipulated that these were gifts to two individuals and to the individuals on the Roadrunner unit. I was assured by the woman at the front desk that they would reach their destination. They did not. Instead, the bows and cards were thrown away and the two cartons were distributed to all four units. Later, I was told that one nurse indicated that 'they could do what they wanted with 'donations.' Numerous e-mails were sent to the CEO of the Aurora system - none of which have been returned. This infraction of my right to give and the right of the intended recipients to receive my 'gifts' has not been taken lightly, and I am presently seeking legal advice. If this happened to me, I can't imagine how many are 'gifting' their friends/loved ones, only to be 'donating' to all. Shame on the CEO, Chelsea Vickers, and those who take the liberty to do as they wish and indirectly slap people in the face with an 'I am better than you' attitude. Beware!!!

I should have read the reviews before accepting my appointment. I originally was going to meet somebody at a completely different Sahara office but due to scheduling difficulties; I met with Dr. David Tanis today. Long story short I am in agreement with many reveiws: he ignored the issues I was speaking about completely and was much more focused and judgmental on my prior medication journey(from 2021, my issues have changed greatly). I also walked away from the appointment in tears; so I am not surprised to see that happened to somebody else.

(UPDATE: since posting the following review (nearly 3 months ago) review I have emailed their compliance department and received ridiculous responses. Each time I left gave my name n number and asked them to call me..They won't call. Now I have 3 email addresses and still no response. I filed an SMI grievance with my health plan about it and the decision letter had names of people at Solari that I've never heard of and stated they reached out to me. Just a Non-Stop pattern of bull$hit.. and on top of that, to of the doctors that treated me back in the early nineties how did the first 24-hour suicide hotline in Los Angeles in 1958. In 30 years they cut the suicide rate in half. Stacy thought I would be a good asset fielding phone calls)

I tried accessing the trauma recovery center here and with Elena I found they said to me the very worst things they could have said or done at the time....they kept blaming me for things outside of my control...they kept up a prejudicial and stigma attitude that I hadnt done anything to leave homelessness....and I had to say forcefully I have worked it's not my fault that organizations don't pay me....they have no idea all I have been through trying to leave homelessness they just kept blaming me...so I had to tell her fraud is not my fault and it's not my fault that an adequate victims compensation has not been distributed to me...and that she was coming at me from a place of privilege expecting me to endure lectures when I have no way to obtain income...she has never been homeless and has never endured how brutal street segregation. Is to be judging my mind set in any way....I had to repeat over and over I don't have to do anything for people to finally exhibit humanity....there is no ultimatum to people finally apologizing and exhibiting humanity....and that it's not my fault and she kept grilling me with lectures till I got u and left and told her to never see me again or act judgemental and better then me.....she with her director is also dependent on pharmaceutical drugs so i really don't feel someone reliant on being a drug rep instead of working has any right to lecture me about what is not my fault....fix yourselves

I called the separate medical facility twice in order to schedule a follow-up appointment and was kicked off the line both times. I resorted to calling the counseling facility in an attempt to be rerouted to scheduling. The first time I called a very kind employee was able to help redirect me, and he said to call back again if it did not work. Unfortunately the line fell through again, so I called back to inform them that it had not worked. When I did the phone was answered by a woman. I explained the situation thoroughly to her, emphasizing I knew they did not usually make psychiatric appointments and that I was only calling back to let them know it hadn’t worked. She cut me off several times to condescendingly tell me they only do counseling, even though I told her I already knew that. She passively aggressively suggested I call the medical facility even though I had already told her I had tried twice, providing me with the exact same phone number I told her SEVERAL TIMES I already tried to call. Eventually she transferred me to scheduling and thankfully it worked. I was calm and did not raise my voice the entire phone call, only becoming irritated when I had to repeat information she’d already been informed of many times. She, however, was incredibly rude from the second the conversation started. This is not about what capabilities the counseling facility has, this is about me being treated poorly for trying to solve an issue that I was having because of CHANGE POINT. Even if I was mistakenly calling the wrong building, that’s no way to handle the situation. As a mental health facility, this attitude is absolutely unacceptable. Front desk should not react with hostility to simple confusion, and certainly not treat people like they’re stupid (which is what it felt like whilst she was not listening to me). And if I'm correct, this same front desk employee was EXCESSIVELY rude to my mother a few months back when I was actively having a severe mental health crisis, and she truly impeded my ability to receive care. My mother had to hang up and speak to somebody else, and when she did, she was provided with a plethora of information that was entirely different from the information the original woman provided. This could or could not be the same person, but either way it was a front desk employee at this facility. If I was a new patient seeking counseling, I'd write off this facility at best, and I'd stop seeking treatment entirely at worst. I’ve had mountains of problems with BOTH buildings’ front desk and reception. Unfortunately, I’ll be starting to look for other mental health options after this since I finally have the privilege of leaving Show Low. But this is the only available mental health care for many people struggling in the area, and this isn’t the first time your front desk employees have been untactful. Thank you to the employee I spoke to originally for being very helpful and kind. I hope maybe one day the entire front desk staff is filled with people like him instead.

I've been getting great care here for a few years now. However, recently it seems that the company that administers Polara has changed. This change came along with a mandate for hours of service per day that the therapists have to meet. No shows and cancellations are not accounted for. I have been at jobs where there are requirements such as this. It does NOTHING but cause stress and sometimes sessions that are pushed hard to end after the time allotted. At said jobs, people would literally hoard general tasks so they can meet their required hours per day/week/month. This mandate also leads to rapid turnover. I'm not sure the cancellation of that mandate will have immediate results, assuming it's still in place. It's not really my place to check up on these things. I'm just a patient.

This is by far the most frustrating unprofessional disorganized group of people I’ve ever dealt with. Moving/dropping appointments with no notice or reasoning. They also have no idea what’s wrong when you call or ask about it. They don’t even know what appointment you’re talking about 90% of the time. Providers don’t show for appointments. Case workers are non existent. Incredibly inconsistent in every aspect. I’ve been hung up on yelled at and completely dismissed. Not a single person I’ve talked to in 3 years has been any sort of helpful. I’m a very experienced and understanding person but this company is such a complete disaster it’s not even worth trying to tell anyone something’s wrong. I’ve very kindly explained everytime I speak with anyone how difficult it is to do anything simply because they have no clue what’s wrong their doing and every person is so surprised. I know I cannot be the only person.

I am begging whatever governmental entity may be out there that has the ability to, to shut this place down. They will not fill prescriptions on time (causing you to go through monthly withdrawals), referrals (to therapy, specialist, any and everything) disappear into the ether, caseworkers quitting weekly, disrespectful and dismissive (at best) staff overall. You wanna switch meds or get a different pcp? you wanna get a therapist? I deeply wish you luck, because they don’t care enough nor have the staff to meet any of your needs. I was abused and neglected here for over 10 years. I’m physically and mentally disabled, and to say that being a patient here was hell is an understatement. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. This facility has blood on their hands (including mine) with their rampant neglect and abuse of patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Arizona?
When comparing providers in Arizona, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Arizona?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Arizona?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Arizona providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Arizona providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
