If I could just rate this place 0 stars I would, if you have any other options just don't go here. If you have no other options, then godbless you and good luck. I can't even get an appointment scheduled for a court ordered mental health evaluation because of the level of incompetence at this "Behavioral Health Care Center." Every receptionist I've spoken to at the Smyrna, TN location has the attitude of someone who clearly doesn't want to be on the phone, or helping you. Everytime I've called to even schedule this appointment I'm told to submit the court order to schedule an appointment, but twice now over the course of the last two years I've tried to come here for this, I have had this information faxed to them, and every time it's faxed they tell me they'll contact me back within 24-48 hours and then fail to do so. This place is a joke. There's also the many times I've been on hold just to be hung up on after waiting, and they're either using cheap garbage phones with technical issues or like to pretend they cant hear you so they don't have to deal with you because in my seemingly unending quest to schedule a simple mental health evaluation they're the only ones who consistently will tell me they can't hear me until I just give up. If these are actual volunteers they need to volunteer elsewhere because some people actually need this service. The irony here (wether intentional or not) is that, it's as if they're banking on you being too mentally unwell to seek help here at all.

Honestly I dont make reviews normally but I really was agitated by the polices specially for a mental health clinic. They make you go to a no show class just because you missed an appointment i understand a fee or something but to refuse service until you go to a class come on now thats just ridiculous im not an expert or anything but certain mental health issues need more support an options not so harsh policies i dont think it takes one to know thats just not right. And if u miss your no show you have to wait 3 months before they schedule you again or refil your needed medication thats just setting you up for failure. I would love to speak to a higher up about my experience with the company but the staff was not really able to perform she seemed overwhelmed and more stressed out then someone trying to get help overall nothing personal but when it comes to mental health thats not cool to just throw people around like that. I also feel like also nobody in there office care about there job and want to just cut corners PCS needs better practices

I’ve received the best care here! The staff are so helpful and very supportive and they actually care about whatever you’re going through. They also listen to you and get the right resources to get the best care you need and they help you every step of the way! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

I personally would like to thank ms Mia she made her class fun to be in her class, I feel all new parents should take a parenting class especially new father’s . Thank you for your support and guidance

I am extremely disturbed by our recent experience with Hometown Medical. This morning I went to fill my 85-year-old mother’s prescription and was informed by the pharmacist that she had been prescribed Mounjaro for blood sugar control. My mother weighs only 95 pounds. The pharmacist immediately expressed concern because this medication is widely known to cause significant weight loss — often 15–20% of body weight. For an 85-year-old woman who already weighs 95 pounds, that kind of weight loss could be dangerous and medically irresponsible. After researching the medication myself, I found the same information regarding substantial weight reduction and caution in frail or elderly patients. It is alarming that this prescription was written without what appears to be appropriate consideration of her age, size, and overall risk. Thankfully, the pharmacist acted as the final safety check. Without that intervention, we could have been dealing with serious consequences. We will never return to Hometown Medical. If you have elderly parents or vulnerable loved ones, I strongly encourage you to review every medication being prescribed and ask questions. Do not assume that everything written is automatically appropriate.
I'm so sorry to hear how negative some have felt about the environment here but I have had quite the opposite experience, of course everyone is not friendly and people get jods that they do not like, are rude etc, but I have been client here for maybe 10+ years and the overall experience has been a great one.. The staff are engaging treats me with dignity and respect as well as respects my privacy. Every experience may not be a good one but for the most part it's a positive one.
I've been going here for years, only had 1 issue. I see people saying if you don't have insurance you won't get help, that's NOT true. There's Safety Net if you don't qualify for Tennecare. There is a way to be seen there

I worked at Health Connect America from Dec 2022 to Nov 2024. During my time there I met some amazing people (co workers and clients). The Chattanooga staff is very helpful and supportive. I learned a lot in my two years there. One of my favorite things about my time with HCA is that I was able to I set my own schedule and caseload. If my own kids were sick I was able to take the time off to care for them, no questions asked. HCA is a family helping other families in need. It has been, hands down, the greatest experience to help further my career. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Dr Alexander is a real jerk. Has no compassion and looks down on those who struggle with addiction. He should probably switch professions because he could care less about people with an addiction!!!! I would rather be addicted then to see him for treatment!!! If you are gonna go here please see Dr. Murphy because he's great!!!

I was admitted here in April of 2019. I was there for almost a month. I don’t know if the staff is still there, but I thought I’d say thank you to all the doctors and staff who took care of me. A life update: I’m doing much better now. You all helped me get better. At 24 yrs old, I’m in college now and found the right meds. I see a therapist and physician now. I was bad on drugs at the time that I was admitted here… and I got out of that situation. I remember the karaoke days and there was a gentleman staff member who had a heart to heart with me about men and how I’d find the right person to treat me like I deserved. Truly… thank you

So voluntarily admit... manic crisis first one in 35 years ok cool... anyway went because after so many years something that was working no longer works ok ... first night given sleep aid slept through breakfast and lunch...ok cool ...given more meds that morning slept even more ok great maybe I needed rest ...food very scarce and I mean like nothing ok fine given another sleep aid wake up drooling in day room...go to room end up waking up at 845 called husband only allowed phone use 2 time day acceptable considering treatment center but end call at 850 only allow 5 mins while they listen again accepted due to treatment but end call ask for breakfast no sorry you slept through breakfast...seriously it's not 9 yet sorry ....ok after only one meal I'm hangry... I asked for ama papers and was told I had to see counselor first...ok first ok Karen I will now let you know my medical background.... and I know do not have to have permission to leave AMA but I will see your counselor just so they know I am not ignorant to the ways ... was told that not allowed to wake... ok not for food or smoke breaks cool but not for therapy? No it's against policy. But minute my eyes open and feet hit floor you damn sure handing over another pill which also knocked me out! 72 hour treatment slept 35 of the 38 hours I was there

After 32 minutes & being transferred 3 times, they finally told me that they're not accepting insurance right now, they're only doing out of pocket.
It was 7 days of hell. The nurses, doctors, and therapists (except for Russel) all believe they know the brain better than the person that possesses it. I was tossed in a room and was not told ANYTHING. It took me 3 days to figure out how to get a towel so I could shower, and it took 4 days to figure out how to call loved ones to bring me clothes. If you ask someone how to do something their response every time is “I don’t do that”.

I really wish they would have kept some of the o.g.'s of the mental health field so that everybody could feel more welcome because familiar faces add to the atmosphere and the feelings that you get when you're welcome into a place like Mental Health co-op.

I do not think I have ever left a public 1 star review, but I feel compelled that I must. Horrid experience with practitioners. Horrid experience front office staff. Last minute cancellations are a regular occurrence. They do not return calls in a timely manner. In my experience, the practitioners are not straightforward or interested in honest, open communication which is dangerous in a field like mental health. I cannot implore you enough to find another in-network option. I'm after yet another (second consecutive) cancellation SIXTY FIVE MINUTES before my appointment. Just unbelievable and abhorrent all around.
It seems since their recent changes they don't seem to care anymore and they lied & said I missed my appointment which i had specifically written on my calendar but said the appointment time was said to be 15minutes earlier then redirected me to someone else to reschedule appointment but no answer I had to leave a voicemail but it's been almost 2 hours with no return phone call. I'm so tired of this incompetent staff!
Please stop putting detox/withdrawal patients (myself included) in the psychiatric unit (unit 600) because your other units are full and you just want to fill beds for the money. We do not need to be around individuals who are screaming, throwing things, getting in fights, planning on overthrowing the nurses, etc. We don’t know if we’re hallucinating or not. We need a peaceful environment with individuals who are willing to help us. Do better.
