Ive been here since 2019 at first I was switch to 3 different doctor because doctors kept quiting. Now in 2023 to 2025 they have hired great people who actually care and help you. Doctor kodear is amazing and Damien the case worker is really awesome and kind hearted. They value u as a person and actually help you. The 2 upfront staff Caroline and the new guy are really nice and the telephone lady does a good job. Took them a couple years to turn around. Glad I stayed there. Damien is a kind hearted good case manager who helps those in need with being knowledgeable in diagnoses and helps with food pantry and help u get where you need to go appointment wise. Now is the time for new people to sign up for North Central while other case managers I never met and quit on me in the past they have new better ones who are actually there for you. North Central is like the brother of South East. I chose North Central for staff locations doctors case managers . They don't give up on helping you just don't give up on them they work with your disability needs. I have bi polar autism learning disability ADHD and they have helped me find meds that fit my disabilities.

I became my brother's guardian upon the death of our mother. I transferred his care to Firelands in Sandusky County. He has day treatment appointments 3 times per week. I can't say enough about this program. My brother enjoys his appointments, he is socializing, and his mood has improved. His Case Manager is Shari Fisher. Thank you!

My appt was at 11am. They gave me a paper to write a review as soon as I walked in. It asked 'Did I show up on time?' 'Was I treated with respect?' stuff like that. At 11:25 nobody came to get me. So I left! My review is simple. My time is as valuable as your Pathways! How can you ask someone to respect YOUR TIME and be on time when you don't respect there's.

Worst place ever. They treat u like your not suppose to know what's going on & when ask about doing a mental evaluation they say they don't know where it can be done. When you point out facts to them they just tell you that your wrong. Instead of getting facts they just say this is what I think you have. Also they tell you to get support from some place else when it comes to social security but yet don't want to give you the support themselves. I walked out shaking because of the counselor making me feel degraded & stupid because I pointed out facts in black & white.

Some staff were really nice but there was so much wrong with detoxing here.. Some of my things ended up missing. Took them 3 days to give me my clothes back the lady left them in the washer over night the one night then the next forgot. As a detox patient, you are instantly mixed into the crowd of the.Regular patients that are already feeling better. While you are miserable, having to hear people run around opening and closing doors. They are the only place that's still wakes you up every four hours to get your blood pressure. It's awful. Coming up fentanyl, I had no order for suboxone in coming in, like how is that possible, like when you are coming in for that, you should automatically get suboxone to taper off of. It was kind of just a traumatizing experience being so sick and having to go thru taking care of yourself and I had to drive 1.5 hours to get there. As soon as my clothes didn't get back to me the second day after sitting in the wash. That's when I decided it was time to go. I was basically staying there to get comfort meds and watch everyone have a grand old time while i'm detoxing miserable. Separate detox from residential. Its just not fair to have to be around all that in the beginning stages. I went to silver Maple and Lorraine, which made me wanna try out this facility. But they are nothing alike, and I was told that that they were not run by the same people. And I could instantly tell, because the one in lorain was the reason that I came to this one because I loved it and just wanted to go somewhere different. But boy do I regret it

I called to get an appointment. They called me back and for my insurance information right away, after that I was put on the back burner. I was told they needed to figure out who to pair me with and they would call me back by the end of the week. That never happened, my first call was the 4th it's now the 22nd. Not only is this is unprofessional but rude as well. People are reaching out for help and clearly it's not a priority for them. The receptionist has all kind of attitude as well. She said "sir your on a waiting list" almost as if she was mad I was calling to see why they never called me back when they said they would. Look elsewhere, I am

Don't bother. Once your child starts to develop a rapport with a councilor, they'll quit with little to no warning. In the last 2.5 years my son has been through 4 therapists, and his mom and I are left to pick up the pieces each time one of them leaves. My guess is this place must pay so little, and/or be so toxic that it's driving out their workforce.

I was going to go back to counseling because the only person to ever help me worked there, Dr. Patrick Bentley. I just learned he no longer works there and they give no information on whether he retired or is at a new practice. He is a shining light in a failing health care system. Statistically, from my perspective, he was 1 out of 20 or so doctors that actually listen and don't wait to speak. I know I wont find another Dr like him so I'm not even gonna try. Since Community Counseling Services doesn't make an effort to help a former patient, why should i even try to make an effort... shame CCS

Good morning, I drive people to medical appointments to over 24 facilities in the NE Ohio area. Ashtabula County Medical Center is rated one of the lowest patient care and patient services facilities,I believe. Looking at doctors available in the area to parking and computer communications with other facilities and even within their own facility. They are going thru a major build and ad on and up grades in many places thru out the facility. Parking for patients is horrible. Now they are offering free valet parking. I was told to boost patient usage of the facility. Bathroom up grades that are not upgrades for patient well-being. You still have to touch everything,no non touch controls. If you go to Lowes, they have that stuff,Ashtabula County Medical Center is not concerned in patient safety or care in my book . Even rest areas in the State of Ohio have no touch facilities? Drive to the Cleveland area for your health needs! Your life and well-being are worth the drive.

They violated Hippa laws by sending my father information about my therapy sessions! Mind you I am an adult and it no reason to contact anyone but me unless it’s an emergency. Horrible people work there and it’s horrible company. Run!! Had so many issues with this company I would not recommend them to anyone. My son was working with this company and he was discharged without my knowledge after it took so long to get someone to even work with us for him. Unorganized, unprofessional and violates laws. Big money scam. Case manager was nice but he was the only one who I believe cared at that place and they got rid of him too. Do not trust your loved ones in their care you will regret it.

I think this was an amazing experience. I was able to connect to the nurses and other patients. This place is so nice and the nurses are very friendly, I would like thank Mrs Nat, Mrs Titi, Mrs Julianna the twin cooks and the black male, for how they took care of me and made me feel happy and not care about my release date. :) The food was amazing and seconds offer almost everyday which was very nice. We had lots of freedom which was appreciated, it’s hard to not feel trapped in a place like that but I was able to feel good while at SUN. I can’t thank them enough. Thank you all.

Communication is HORRIBLE. I left over 20 messages to the social workers, the nurses, my son. NOTHING. I ended up leaving work at noon to go to the facility and do a "sit in" in the lobby until I was able to talk to those people who do not answer the phones or return messages. This is my son's second stay there. NEVER AGAIN. Additionally, I was told they were doing a lithium test, yet I never received results and when I called after he was discharged the nurse could find no record of a lithium level test being done. My son is now in a 30 day residential program in Pennsylvania. I can only PRAY that this facility actually provides care and communication. If I could leave a 0 star, I would.

I have been coming here on and off for several years and it is the only place I trust. I recently finished several months worth of therapy focused on trauma with Elaine. I've had several therapists throughout my life and this is the only place I've never had any issues. Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find the right match and that's ok. Not every therapist is going to be a good fit for you. I have just had really good experiences with their therapists, and when you're dealing with complex trauma, you don't want to have to fight with your therapist on top of everything else. Therapy isn't intended to be easy. It's supposed to hurt before it gets easier. If you're feeling bad, it's probably working. That isn't the therapists fault. I can't thank Elaine (and all my prior therapists) enough for everything she's done for me throughout my time here! She took the time to listen to me and get to know me and helped me work through the most difficult, painful things in my life. Things I've never really said out loud to anyone. I've learned skills that will help me cope with life's ups and downs. Things I didn't learn when I was younger. For that, I'm eternally grateful.

ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL DRIVERS INTERVENTION PROGRAM! It was so much more than I expected. I did DIP 14 years ago at a different facility and it was nothing like this. Lenny is absolutely incredible and was always available for questions or concerns. I did 57 days in a rehab and got SO much more in these 3 days than I did with those 57 days. Lenny and his partnering staff were wonderful. I'm grateful to have 'randomly' chosen this place to do my DIP. Had a great group of people. Food was great (SO MUCH FOOD LOL), plenty of breaks, great insight, information and knowledge. Highly recommend Alternative Paths for DIP. I truly did not want to leave but they gave me so much information and I know I can use it in my daily life now!

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Ohio?
When comparing providers in Ohio, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Ohio?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Ohio?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Ohio providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Ohio providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
