I was horribly mistreated by Stephanie L. Hill, MD while I was a patient here recently. I am physically disabled with chronic pain. She refused to accommodate me, and made me lie down on the floor in level 10 pain. We were told that she had been fired and was in her last week of her 60 day notice, yet she is still listed on their website as a provider. So either they lied to us, or they haven’t updated their website. If you have a choice, do not entrust this hospital with your care or the care of your loved ones.

Words truly cannot express my thanks and my gratitude towards my therapist Tyonna Butler-Foster. I have been seeing her religiously once a week since August and I have improved so much in that short amount of time. She would say I improved because I did the work which is true but honestly in my heart of hearts I know that she saved my life. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without her. She is kind, caring, informative, & courteous. She gave me a safe space to be able to rediscover who I am, my goals, aspirations, and helped me reignite the light I thought I had lost a long time ago. Tyonna thank you from the bottom of my heart. You deserve nothing but greatness and success I wish it all for you. 🥹❤️✨

In the beginning it was okay, though I wasn’t too thrilled with the therapy or lack thereof. Changed to another therapist for several months who was fantastic! Unfortunately he left and when he did so did the professionalism. I have called for a week along with my pharmacy to get my son’s refills. He’s yet to get a refill. When I have the school barking down my back over his atrocious behavior in class, I’ll direct them to call you all. (Although I did contact the school counselor to make her aware of this situation so maybe they’ll understand. Even though they shouldn’t have to!!) Though it wouldn’t do much for them to call either since you all lack the capability to return a phone call. 3 voicemails from myself, an email, multiple calls from my pharmacy, multiple faxes from my pharmacy and a call from my sons pediatrician and still a week later NO MEDS!!! This is the most unprofessional way to treat your patient who is a minor! I am supposed to advocate for my children right? Impossible to do when the therapist office REFUSES to call in a refill or even return a simple call. I’ll be calling my son’s pediatrician tomorrow morning to get him referred to a different office. This is ridiculous.

I was a patient here off and on for about 3 years and I just feel as though I wasn't ready and they weren't as caring and educated as the facility I'm in currently. I even asked to transfer to Zebulon and they said it would take time they would get back with me (no call). Where as current facility took me right in no waiting. The zebulon morris clinic u have to call them and wait for a call back (Which I never got). Ridiculous and shows they truly don't really care for the patient only the money. I don't recommend if you truly want to get clean. Go to Wilson BHG!! I moved counties in order to be able to go to them and be closer by. Well worth moving!! Been clean now almost 12 months. No thanks to the Morris clinic! They failed me & others! 😡

On Last week my son met with Brenden PA, where we were told he’s “not Shawn Baker” and “not a proponent of medication” Despite me reaching out to the center for emotional health where my son has been seen and managed by Sean baker successfully for years. This provider blew my concerns off and asked my child in a crisis if he could increase his meds which he clearly needs after being in crisis on multiple occasions I feel this provider blew me off because my child is black and difficult to manage and because I’m a young black mother. I’m not just a young black mother I’m a mental health nurse with 13 years of experience currently employed at the Department of veterans affairs and I care very much about my son and his care which I’ve been trying to manage in my home for years along with therapy . It was successfully managed by Sean baker my son was not hospitalized for the past year and a half , Sean took excellent care of son . Brenden’s carelessness and bias , his lack of assessment and attention to this urgent matter caused my son to act out again in crisis on yesterday he is currently hospitalized and I am extremely disappointed at the sub par care that I received, his lack of assessment and care for my son put everyone’s safety at risk on yesterday . And I pray that no other family has to experience this or is hurt by his poor practices please share this with Mr. Brendan and to whomever receives reports for dangerous care.

I had the most amazing birthing experience at the UNC Johnston women’s center in Clayton. The entire nursing staff was SO supportive of everything my husband and I requested. After how stressful the delivery of my first baby was, we will forever be grateful for the calm and relaxing environment that was created for us here. A special thank you to my nurse, Danielle, who did everything in her power to ensure I was comfortable.

Coming into this I had no idea what to expect. I was nervous and scared and that completely changed 2 minutes after being admitted. The staff here have truly done an outstanding job and have pretty much saved my life. I have never been to a treatment center before and I have to say they made this experience an amazing one. The dedication and heartfelt concern they showed towards me from the moment I entered to the moment I completed the program was incredible and something I never had prior to coming here. Because of this facility and each one of the staff members I spent time with I have made it a personal mission to stay clean as well as come back in 6 months to join them as a peer support specialist. The job they do on a daily basis there and the true concern they have for there patients is exceptional and I thank each and every one there for choosing that path and continuing to help people like me through this hard and difficult journey. Thank you all so much for what you did and continue to do. You are all amazing and I truly appreciate everything you have done for me.

I have been attending Living Well since 2011. My initial experience with the first psychiatrist was challenging due to a problematic situation. However, the owner handled it professionally by swiftly addressing the issue and terminating that psychiatrist. I was warmly encouraged to stay, and my care was seamlessly transferred to their main doctor.

This agency does not have a phone. To schedule an appointment, you have to text a number and wait on a hope and prayer for someone to respond. I've waited months for responses to text messages just to schedule an appointment. If you're already feeling down and need help as soon as possible, please keep searching because customer service is not a priority here.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in North Carolina?
When comparing providers in North Carolina, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in North Carolina?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in North Carolina?
Yes. Mental Health US includes North Carolina providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all North Carolina providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
